I have had car loans, personal loans, business loans, savings accounts, and checking accounts at Mohawk Progressive. They have great rates and no fee checking accounts as well as online banking. MPFCU is a small credit union where the member really does come first. They may not have all the latest techno services of the larger banks but they got it where it counts- and that's customer service. I remember a couple years ago my iTunes account was hacked and the thief started making several hundred dollar purchases over and over again to his fake account on iTunes that ended up totaling over $3000 dollars. Carole called me and alerted me to the activity and put a stop payment on my account before calling me. She knows me well enough to know I didn't make those purchases. That isn't the only time MPFCU has saved my skin. They have also called me to alert me a payment was clearing when I had insufficient funds in my account (Hey it happens to the beat of us) just so I could add money in time to avoid any fees or penalties. Carole and her member service reps will do the same for you. I will continue banking there for as long as I am around and you should too!

Maybe CEFCU used to be good. Not anymore!) They don't charge you $1.50 for overdrawing your account; they charge you $28 per transaction. Everything they do, they do incredibly, unbelievably, painfully slowly. I told an acquaintance of mine that I was looking to change banks. He asked who I was with and when I said "SEFCU" he shook his head slowly and said, "I left them 20 years ago. They're awful. They don't care, and they act like they're doing you a favor." And indeed, that has been my exact experience with them. They're technophobic to the point that they don't trust their computers and so forth to secure funds; instead they need to see you face-to-face, and assess your transactions for 90 days (yes, NINETY DAYS) before they'll let you deposit a check through their mobile app. Because, you know...you just can't trust those computers! Ask them why any of their nonsensical, self-serving policies are in place and they won't be able to answer your question. They are a credit union perfectly in step with the thinly disguised backwoods 'burb that is Albany. Awful.

in all of the years that i have had a bank account of any sort, and yes - even back to when i had…read morethat little book for my very first savings account, this is the best bank ever. and i mean Ever. if you make mistakes and overdraw yourself, they cover it. and don't charge you a zillion dollars (i overdrew by 1.48 recently, poor math on my part. and they charged me 1.50 for it. citizens bank and key bank would have charged me $35 or just bounced my car payment.) and then to boot, the online interface is lovely. you can transfer funds quickly and easily from checking to savings or back again. oh. and plus. their people are Really friendly. and happy! today i went thru the drivethru and the girl was just super friendly and smiling and telling me to have the Very Best of Days. and meaning it. even on those little tv's in the other location they are always very friendly. i very much love sefcu (as much as you can love a bank.) oh - one problem, their online site has an icon that looks like a washing machine dial that you select to go to your personal account. it is odd. also they charge too much for online bill paying but i am willing to take the little bit of bad with all that good.

On our road trip, both batteries on our pick up truck went out. We were at RV park in Austerlitz…read moreso at least we were safe in our RV. Called State Farm RS and they could not find a provider. Called AAA and they were awesome, Zeb who was awesome came out about 30 minutes after I contacted AAA. He tested both batteries and they were both bad, both batteries had to be replaced, you cannot just replace one, but he only had one battery on the truck. He jumped our truck and it started and then said we could follow him back to AAA office which was 45 minutes away and they can install the two batteries or AAA could come out next morning between 8 and 10 and bring two batteries. We decided to have them come back the next morning. We did drive the truck for about 45 minutes and came back to campground and because batteries so dead it would not start again. The next morning AAA called just a few minutes after 8 and said Julio would be at our location in about 45 minutes after he does a tire change for another driver. He got to us quicker than that and Julio was also awesome. Julio got both batteries installed, when he took out one of old batteries, that one was leaking acid so that was one of the battery issues. My neighbor also has Kelly for an agent. When she checked her bill she had the same addition. I added a third car and Kelly again added the extra charge. Kelly eventually deleted the unwanted protection. I found her office was often closed during business hours and sometimes the secretary was the only one there but could only offer limited help. I switched agents.
