Anytime she would ask a question and we didn't know what she meant she would awkwardly laugh at us. Maybe it is super rare to get first time tanners. She was very helpful when it came time to using the machine, but oh my goodness. The machine kept repeating that it was heated but it was so incredibly cold and miserable! And once we got out of the machines our faces were a disaster! It was super splotchy on both of us. I went home and washed my face right away. I ended up being guided through for process - she was super friendly, i felt very comfortable. My artist knew how to match my expectations and skin tone to the right color/shade of tan that they offer perfectly! I ended up looking bronzed and almost airbrushed appearing for my beach vacation, and not a tinge of orange. Highly recommend. My skin didn't have any negative reactions or any patching (aside for when the tan started wearing off about 5ish days after, which happens for all spray tans). They know what they're doing here!! I called their Bethesda location, and the first receptionist claimed we weren't in the system--even though I booked on Wednesday at 2:22 PM (I checked my call log and took a screenshot). Someone took all of my details including my credit card, but somehow my appointment "didn't exist." Then the owner got on the phone and said she actually could see me in their system but didn't know what happened. She blamed a software switch on Tuesday... but I booked on Wednesday. So that excuse made no sense. Her only solution was to ask if we could come tomorrow. No, we actually can't--because unlike her business, we plan ahead. I took the weekend off from my real estate schedule to celebrate. We booked a hotel in Tysons, hired a dog sitter, and made a whole day of this. And it was completely wasted. What really stunned me was the total lack of care. No apology that felt meaningful. No attempt to make it right. No offer of a complimentary service. Nothing. I'm a business owner myself, and I would never handle a mistake like this this way. Our anniversary plans were basically ruined because this spa didn't bother to honor our confirmed appointment--or provide any real remedy afterward. Don't waste your time or money here. If they can't handle a simple booking, I wouldn't trust them with anything else either.

I was finally able to have a call back from these folks and was able to book an appointment. The establishment is clean and the staff were friendly. We received a 60 minute massage. The massage was 'okay'. It felt like someone just rubbing oil on you. The pressure was kind of weak. I felt awkward bringing it up more than once. After we redeemed our gift card, there was an issue with gratuity. When we were gifted this a few years back, our friends mentioned they had added 20% tip. I believe the price of the massage went up, which makes sense. However, the front desk person made it seem like prices haven't changed and it was odd that the tip was so little. It would have been nice if they were just honest with why the top was much less now, which is probably because the price of the massage went up. I would probably check out another place.
