My artist knew how to match my expectations and skin tone to the right color/shade of tan that they offer perfectly! I called their Bethesda location, and the first receptionist claimed we weren't in the system--even though I booked on Wednesday at 2:22 PM (I checked my call log and took a screenshot). Someone took all of my details including my credit card, but somehow my appointment "didn't exist." Then the owner got on the phone and said she actually could see me in their system but didn't know what happened. She blamed a software switch on Tuesday... but I booked on Wednesday. So that excuse made no sense. Her only solution was to ask if we could come tomorrow. No, we actually can't--because unlike her business, we plan ahead. I took the weekend off from my real estate schedule to celebrate. We booked a hotel in Tysons, hired a dog sitter, and made a whole day of this. And it was completely wasted. What really stunned me was the total lack of care. No apology that felt meaningful. No attempt to make it right. No offer of a complimentary service. Nothing. I'm a business owner myself, and I would never handle a mistake like this this way. Our anniversary plans were basically ruined because this spa didn't bother to honor our confirmed appointment--or provide any real remedy afterward. Don't waste your time or money here. If they can't handle a simple booking, I wouldn't trust them with anything else either.

After we redeemed our gift card, there was an issue with gratuity. When we were gifted this a few years back, our friends mentioned they had added 20% tip. I believe the price of the massage went up, which makes sense. However, the front desk person made it seem like prices haven't changed and it was odd that the tip was so little. It needed done, so I agreed. After the fastest time ever in a threading chair, the stylist told me she was done and she said that I had an ingrown hair and so there was "a little blood". She offered to put aloe on it and it wasn't super visible to me at the time, so I paid and tipped her and left. Today I woke up with this injury that had to be from her work! So much for enjoying how my brows look and for paying more than usual for what I hoped may be a better than usual job.

No extractions, no hot towels, no explanation of what the hell she was using. I remember asking her well what brand is it, I have sensitive skin. It was dermalogica, so at least there's that. When I went to give her a tip, she had already disappeared! I left some cash on the desk, and left. It was a bizarre experience overall just to get my face washed!
