I brought my 2017 Ford Mustang V6 to High Desert Ford (formerly Sunland Ford) for a critical federal safety recall (Recall 25S89 / NHTSA 25V572) regarding a distorted backup camera image. Despite their "Service Commitment" claiming "excellence at every turn" and a "primary goal to satisfy every customer at every opportunity," I left upset, unsatisfied, and at risk. Under R/O 6126286/1, Service Advisor Sheri Prince (2570W) refused to perform the repair because they "received no codes," completely ignoring the video evidence I offered of the distorted images. Their commitment says advisors are there to "communicate effectively with you," yet no one ever asked me about the symptoms I was experiencing or looked at the proof of the defect. To make matters worse, they tried to blame my aftermarket dash display for the failure of a known $125 factory camera defect. This is a blatant attempt to dodge a federal safety mandate. By prioritizing technicalities over my safety, they have failed to provide the "customer care" they brag about online. I have been a loyal Ford customer for the past 33 years. The reason I have always supported Ford was that I trusted the quality of the Ford brand and the understanding that Ford Customer service will always treat me right and do the right thing. All that changed when I took my wife's 2018 Explorer to Hi Desert Ford (Sunland Ford) in Victorville, California. We received a safety recall notice 26S08 in March 2026. Ford advised us to make an appointment with our local Ford service department to replace both rear suspension toe links and check for alignment. We made our appointment for March 7th and 7:30am for this recall and told them that we also wanted to get the transmission looked at since it sometimes shifts hard and slips in back and forth between gears. We dropped the car off at the appointed time and asked Larry, our service technician, to check and see if there was any recalls or warranties that cover transmissions prior to starting any work. He said he couldn't even look that up until they knew what was wrong with the transmission. I wasn't going to argue. Larry told us he was going to give the car to the transmission tech and he should have an answer by the next day. Eight days later, Larry text me and stating that the transmission tech test drove the car and recorded several transmission slips. It took eight days for a tech to tell me the same thing I told them. They suspect internal damage on components and recommend a full transmission replacement costing $8,083.71. This car only had 83,000 miles on it. Larry then asks us about the extended warranty. Once again, we told him everything was in the car. He found the extended warranty information but unfortunately, it expired in January of 2026 (two months ago). When we asked if there anything they could do, he took another two days to get back to us that there was no viable alternative. By this point, we were done with the delays and incompetence of this service department. We asked on Friday when we could pick up the car, only to be told they haven't even done the recall yet. So far, Hi Desert Ford has had my car for 14 days to run a transmission diagnostic and a recall that is supposed to take half a day. When I called Daniel Fonseca, the Service Manager, to complain, he said he would talk to Larry about the importance of communications. Not one apology. No one offer for compensation. Nothing. As far as I know, I am still being charged $250 for the transmission tech to test drive my car. I'll know once they actually finish the recall repair and let me know the car is ready for pickup. Do yourself a favor, avoid this service department. Go to Sunrise Ford in Fontana instead. read more

In August 2024, I purchased a 2025 Ford Explorer ST from Sunland Ford. Wes went above and beyond to locate the vehicle, Sharon made the purchase smooth and professional, and Shane and Anthony also played key roles in helping us through the process. For the sales team, I would give Sunland 5 stars. Unfortunately, the service department experience was the opposite. The Explorer had ongoing issues (radio shutting off, washer bottle draining, restraint light flashing, third-row stitching splitting). Service replaced the seat cover but dismissed the other concerns, despite the FordPass app showing alerts. Calls and correspondence went unanswered, and there appeared to be no real intention to resolve the problems. At 7,000 miles, I brought it in for its first oil service, a recall, and to readdress concerns. While the recall was completed, the oil service light wasn't reset, the vehicle was returned with a flat tire, and oil was spilled on the cowling where the technician had set the old filter. The oil itself still looked dirty, which left me questioning whether the service was even performed correctly. With no support from the service department, I was left with no choice but to trade the vehicle in. To Sunland Ford's credit, the sales team -- Sharon, Shane, and Anthony -- called me back and worked to make things right. We ultimately moved forward with a new Expedition that fits our needs much better. Bottom line: The sales team was excellent and earned my trust, but the service department's lack of response and unwillingness to resolve issues was very disappointing and forced me to do a trade. read more

Honestly 0 out of 10 stars for this place. They are so rude and disorganized. I had the worst experience with Jennifer this morning. Absolutely horrendous customer service on her part. I hope my bf and I do not have to come here again to fix my car. If I do have to I would rather deal with anyone else than deal with her again. Honestly the entire location is a disorganized mess and everyone there is extremely distracted, disorganized, dishonest and unhelpful. Do not recommend coming here for anything unless you have to. Probably better off driving down the hill. They also kept my car for way longer than expected on top of being extremely rude to me about keeping it for longer. Horrible service like I said and I am not happy about the way I was spoken to today by Jennifer. Guy acts like a complete a hole and does not want to make a deal with anybody no matter how many cars you plan to purchase going forward. No loyalty to locals and this place tax on Dealer markup as high as possible, hoping for some sucker to come along that they can take advantage of. I tried to make deals with them several times and unfortunately things never panned out. The guy has never been respectful anytime I've spoke with him and basically said he doesn't need my business and somebody else will come along and pay the high price that he's asking. Please read if you're looking to purchase here!! I purchased a car here recently. Pro: I'll start off by saying the staff were great, very friendly, and helpful. No issues there. Cons: You should expect to be offered additional add on items such as an extended warranty, paint and seat protection, and an alarm system. These are not cheap and they really push you hard to purchase them. Asking price for the vehicle I was looking at was just about $20k (not including taxes and fees) they came out with an initial estimate of around $30k including all the taxes, fees, and add ons. I couldn't believe what I was looking at. Eventually was able to get a bunch of the add ons taken off or reduced in price but it definitely took some time and negotiation. Definitely go in expecting way more than the price they show online. Also didn't get much for my trade in. About $1-2k less than Kellyblue book trade in value (after negotiating the trade in a bit higher). read more

Worst service department I have ever experienced. Not only did I have to do all the leg work for them and my warranty (that we paid a lot of money for) which was ridiculous. There was no rental when they had our car for almost 4 WEEKS (which again is in our very expensive warranty plan) then outside of getting the minimum covered when I had warranty replacing and approving all parts that I requested (remember I had to do all the leg work) the car was stated to be ready Monday morning but no call. Started blowing up the service rep (that worked so hard) and finally got a response that the car was ready and "was just about to call us". Ya sure.. I ALMOST bought a brand new transit van. 73k fully loaded from them because my cousin had bought a couple vehicles from them, but thank god I didn't. Not giving this place a penny. We traveled to the High Desert to take a look at Ford Vehicles today. Trust me going around looking for a New Vehicle is twice as hard as finding a used one. We were greeted by Isaac Bazán a *top sales consultant (*my opinion). Although we showed up close to closing. Isaacs first hand knowledge of Ford vehicles surprised me. Lately, during our travels and search for vehicles we have been greeted with young folks on the sales floors with no common sense or knowledge of the vehicle they are attempting to sell us. Sunland Ford was unclear about their pricing, charged unexpected fees, and failed to PROPERLY disclose costs upfront. When we scheduled our appointment, we were told the $250 diagnostic fee would go toward repair costs. However, at the appointment, representative Jennifer Scott failed to mention that it was actually $250 per issue. We only found out after the diagnostics were completed, leaving us with an unexpected charge of $500 just for the diagnosis with no repairs! Rushing customers through a digital signature process without verbal disclosure does not feel like proper informed consent. Jennifer eventually offered a $100 discount, but the total still amounted to $1,556. The following day, we addressed our concerns with service manager Daniel Fonseca. When we spoke to him, he was very dismissive and unprofessional. Instead of handling the situation appropriately, he spoke down to my mother, deflected responsibility, and made no REAL attempt to solve the issue. His attitude made it quite clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority to him. When we followed up with Jennifer, her response was a dismissive "Sorry you feel that way." She made no real effort to acknowledge or address the misleading pricing. She avoided REAL accountability. Just a week after Sunland Ford serviced our vehicle, we are now experiencing serious mechanical issues. The check engine light came on, our turbocharger is malfunctioning, the brakes feel stiff, and the axles do not feel the same. Additionally, turning is also strained and the engine no longer sounds or drives the way it did prior to service. This experience has left us uneasy about the service we received. Never coming back - this was our first visit and our last - if you value honesty, respect, and competent service, take your business elsewhere. read more

Read before you sign anything! We had agreed on a payment, and when signing on the iPad for the paperwork, not once was, I told the payment was going to be for seven years! I had initially told the rep six years the most we could do. They also zoomed in while signing so I couldn't even see what I was signing so the truck ended up costing us a lot more and we were scammed. The time I found out they had already taken my down payment and I had signed everything. If you are going to buy a car from here, read everything, but my suggestion would be to take your business elsewhere. To top it off the truck they sold me the lights were the shifter is don't even turn on, so I have to look at the screen to make sure I am in the correct gear. read more

I wanted a quote from the service department about how much it would cost to replace the fuel filter in my wife's 2020 Ford Escape Titanium (2.0L Ecoboost) due to the vehicles shutters when accelerating between 20 mph and 50 mph. I also own an Escape and we also need recall/customer satisfaction campaigns fulfilled on these vehicles. Hopefully I will hear from this dealership soon and they can fix the phone tag/waiting issue. My granddaughter and I broke down heading to Vegas. Had an amazing Tow Truck driver Anthony that helped us find a rental car and delivered our car to Sunland Ford. Rental car was in Hesperia and Sunland is in Victorville. We were lucky enough that the dealer was still open when I called. Sherry told me that they probably wouldn't get to it until Tuesday or Wednesday. They had to diagnose to find out what happened. I called Monday morning and she told me that they were looking at it and seemed like it was the heater hoses that broke. She said they should be able to have it ready by that afternoon, which was when we would be heading back to orange county. We arrived back in Victorville around 4:15 and the car was ready. Of course this wasn't cheap, but I was able to pick it up on our way home and return the rental. Didn't have to back track an extra day or pay for rental for another day or two. Ok about 3 years ago I had a negative experience with Sunland Ford so I ended up buying a 2021 Hyundai ELANTRA down the hill in El Monte. fast-forward three years later and Sunland Ford actually did me a solid. What ended up happening was I went to Ontario Hyundai after making an appointment and trying to get out of the current Hyundai I was in they turned around and pretty much did not do anything in trying to make a sale this dealership that brags about their customer service, but does not perform what they told me was in order to make a deal happen I would need $7,000 down payment in order to make a deal happen, but this review isn't about Ontario Hyundai. I met Fernando the salesman and he was pretty honest and I appreciate that especially nowadays when people get you into a place and pretty much lie to you. Today Fernando did an outstanding job along with Travis and Josh., and especially Josh. They actually got me into a brand new 2024 Ford Edge With zero down and 0% financing and they did it!!! I got approved through Ford motor credit which to be honest I didn't think I would have a chance of getting financed. I want to thank Sunland Ford for doing this for me. After my last review I was contacted by Sunland Ford... they were looking for details on our experience and which staff assisted us so that any issues could be addressed. I had a lengthy conversation with the general sales manager, Wes, and for the first time in all of my car buying experience I was able to work with someone who was 110% transparent with everything. Going to a car dealership is a business transaction that starts with a level of tension whether we want it to or not.. the dealership wants to make money, the salesperson wants to earn their pay, and the customer just wants a fair deal. I think a lot of conflict can arise from these situations and it's unfortunate, but it's just how it is. . I hate to be a Karen, but if I could give it 1 star I would. Everyone says this is the best Ford dealership in a 100 mile radius, but they all suck and this one sucks the most. We took in a truck to get fixed, they scheduled us for one day saying they have the parts, we bring it in and what don't they have? The parts. So we wait an extra day and guess what! They're missing one of the two parts. Then the third day they tell us the truck will be ready by 3, we leave work an hour early and get here at 3... it's currently 10 minutes until they close at 5 and it's still not done. So my boyfriend and I take time off work, drive an hour home, and wait days for this to get done for nothing. What a joke. read more
