As first time buyers, he did a great job of guiding us through the whole buying process. When it was time to start looking, he spent the first day showing us different types of properties in our budget to help narrow the search (and never tried to push us higher, which was great). After that, he was really responsive whenever we wanted to go out and see a new place that popped up. When we found the place we wanted, he contacted the selling agent first thing in the morning, figured out what a competitive offer would look like, and got our contract over by noon that same day since it was such a competitive market! What we appreciated most was how many contacts he had. He connected us with a couple of lenders to get pre-approvals from, he knew the selling agent for the property we ended up buying, he got us an inspection company after the offer was accepted, and after closing he even connected us with some contractors to work on our new home! As soon as I planned to sell my investment property and was no longer a revenue source for them, the support and willingness to engage with me disappeared. This has created numerous headaches as I plan to sell my rental property. 1) The company accepted a tenant-cleaned property, but still told me they would be charging the tenant for a move-out cleaning. When the tenant complained about the withheld deposit - the company refuses to acknowledge that they told me *in writing* that the $690 cleaning would be charged to the deposit. Now I owe the tenant another $690. 2) The company mailed the keys and garage door openers to my realtor. The package is lost and was not insured by the company. Now they simply suggest filing a "missing package" request and are not willing to accept responsibility for replacing the items that I entrusted to them. 3) Besides from one phone call, all communication is over email, which is creating delays in resolving these issues, leading the former tenant to threaten legal action against me. The company is not taking ownership of any of the issues that were caused by their miscommunication or negligence. Be careful!

The interaction as we went back and forth was rude and reminded me of scammers trying to get one to divulge information urgently (because so many people are interested in the apartment!) at the cost of better judgement. In trying to get more information from me they cited their "policies" but being unable to articulate why their policy insists on having the information I didn't want to share (like my pre-tax deductions) This conversation was not with some mid-level employee but what seemed to be the owner. I should hope he could articulate the reasoning behind his own policy! To me, this company clearly orients themselves to customer service of property owners, not renters.
