When I arrived, Dr. Rachel Willcoxon was absolutely wonderful--caring, professional, and reassuring. She explained everything clearly and made me feel confident that I was in good hands. The exams and testing were thorough and top notch. Dr. Willcoxon didn't just stop there--she and her team coordinated everything, even arranging my specialist appointment and following through so I didn't have to worry about a thing. Thanks to her, I've already had one cataract removed, and I'm so grateful for her compassion and dedication. Dr. Willcoxon and her staff go above and beyond, and I highly recommend them to anyone needing eye care with serious concerns they will give you top notch exams. Patricia Goff

I'm a VB native that has been purchasing boards and clothing since WRV located on Norfolk Ave. I now live out of the area and only make it down a few times a year and when I do, I typically purchase WRV clothing for my three children since they're known as the "Beach Kids" in our mountain community & still manage to easily spend a few hundred dollars annually between VB & OBX locations annually. I attempted to exchange (& spend more) an unworn with tag intact logo tank top that my son did not like10 weeks after purchase. Associate told me I was past 30 day return window but he will allow it. I was a bit shocked because I knew I did not see any mention of this on the receipt, but I didn't have my readers when I was in the store. I also found a recent OBX receipt that does indeed list a 30 day return policy. Website has a bit of a contradiction for period of return/exchange. Just wanna let management know so they can decide what their policy truly is and updated on the receipt, website, and train their employees.

The service remains top notch and was immediate. I needed a replacement shoe for my four year broken down everyday Hoka's. I have really loved the brand and hoped to stay in them. But was also open to try others. The sales guy understood my needs and confirmed my old Hoka's were trash. They upgraded the Bondi I'm in to the 10, so he started with that. However, he first had me walk up and down to evaluate my gait. He measured my feet. He pulled out around six colors to choose from and I tried on a pair and walked again for evaluation. They felt much better than my broken down sneaks. After an inspection of the laces and the way my toes were in the box he pulled out a wide shoe from the back. They only came in three colors, but the gray is what I wanted anyway. After walking again the wide shoe felt the best and more comfortable in the toe box. My previous shoes were regular width. We also discussed socks that would be more beneficial for walking and jogging avoiding cotton at all cost. Cotton retains moisture, that can cause blisters. So go with synthetics, or wool. I tried on a synthetic by Feetures that felt great and picked up a pair to purchase with new shoes. I wore my new ones out and they recycled my old ones and the box. Hoka's are not a cheap brand. So expect $165 and up. Checkout was smooth on my card. Running Etc is a unique experience on service as I described. They know the sport of running, they know their products and best of all the know how to satisfy their customers with phenomenal service. Whole heartedly recommend!!!

I'm so glad I did. I had a blast. The day I came for the event, I met one of the sweetest staff members who made me feel so welcome, her name was Kelsey. Today, I met another of the employees and the owner, Maddie, both of whom could not have been more sweet. This is a welcome addition to the hilltop shopping area and is located near Taste. I was told it's been here for around a year or so. They have a lively Instagram where they update new additions to the shop often so you can see what's recently arrived. It's beautifully decorated inside with a range of unique and well priced ladies clothing and accessories like sunglasses and jewelry. There was a nice-sized sale section with items where there was only one left marked down. I highly recommend you support this shop. I've now met three of the employees and each one is such a sweetheart, and the dresses and clothing inside are high-quality and on trend. I found a beautiful, unique, bathing suit cover-up, and my friend purchased some high-fashion sunglasses that are polarized for a really great price! It's nestled right beside Roast Rider and Taste so if you blink you could miss it, but they have an adorable sign they place out front so be sure to stop in and say hi!

Unfortunately I had the worst customer service experience of my life here yesterday. As a brief…read morebackground, I've been wearing glasses for 27 years. My parents both wear glasses and we had previously been going to the optometrists and retail LensCrafters in MacArthur Center once a year every year for as long as I can remember and always have had a great experience. That store has now relocated and the closest to me is Lynnhaven Mall. I had previously walked into the retail side and a lovely woman named AJ helped me adjust my glasses that my toddler broke until I could replace them. I was looking forward to coming back to her to help me pick a style after my exam. I scheduled my appointment yesterday morning for that afternoon at 4pm. I arranged for my husband to get out of work early and watch our son to accommodate this appointment. I showed up at 3:55pm. At the front desk were 2 women one 20s/30s and one was older. The younger one greeted me and then proceeded to say and I quote "...yeahhhh we didn't have a phone number on file for you and your email didn't work so your appointment was canceled." The form did not require me to input a phone number or insurance. It even said on the confirmation email (of which I received THREE confirmations to the same email that "didn't work" for them) that I could fill out forms and provide insurance in person at the time of my appointment. They continued to tell me they could reschedule me for another day. I'm a very patient and understanding person, I don't enjoy confrontation. There was no apology for wasting my time. No effort to accommodate me. The lady beside her was her supervisor as I learned when asking to speak to someone else. She also met me with attitude, rolling her eyes and refusing to look at me, typing on her computer while I was desperately trying to seek resolution. Unprofessional, disrespectful and just downright rude. I wasn't yelling or cursing I was just upset at the situation and honestly, even a simple apology for the mistake would have gone so far. But not once did they even say sorry, in fact, blamed me saying I must've spelled my email wrong or there was a problem on my end. I received various spam emails and work emails to my same email after booking. Aside from this, I don't even understand why the appointment had to be canceled. I could've provided this info on the spot. My appointment was confirmed as BOOKED multiple times via email. I suggested perhaps there was an issue with their email host. Again met with blank stares. Disappointed is an understatement. Neither one of those women should be in a customer facing position. I'm disheartened to take my business elsewhere for my eye exams however AJ and the other gentleman working the retail side are absolute customer service rockstars and tried to help me afterwards.

It's pretty easy to see the place as you come out of the store or from the parking garage. There is an independent eye doctor next door, but I already had my prescription for this year. My visit here was on October 30, 2023. The business was nice and bright when I came in. You can tell it was well maintained. You can see all the different kinds of frames available along the walls. When I came in, I was greeted by Amy, who I found out afterwards that she is the general manager for this location. I wanted to look around a bit to see what type of frame may work for me. After looking around for a little bit, I wasn't sure what type of frame I wanted to go with. Amy took the time to show me different frames, and she found one that I liked. After that, it was getting the process started to complete the purchase. It's a great way to use FSA funds too. The overall process was pretty straightforward and quick. She also checked to see if they had the lenses available there on site. In the end, they did have them available, and about an hour later, I got a text message that the glasses were available. I came back in later that afternoon to pick them up. Everything worked out and all was good. Overall, this was a very good experience for my first time getting glasses at a LensCrafters. The staff are friendly and willing to help too. Whether you have vision insurance or not, this is definitely a place to look into for getting glasses. There are so many different frames you can choose from. This place is definitely worth checking out.
