Currently, I have been a contact lens/eye glass wearer for over 20 years and have had the same insurance (BCBS FEP Blue Vision) since 2013. Since 2013 I have moved to five different states (Iowa, Illinois, West Virginia, Florida and Texas) and have seen several eye doctors within those states using my same blue cross blue shield FEP blue vision. My insurance normally covers all my exams (comprehensive vision and contact lens evaluation and fitting) free of charge without a co-pay. My first visit I was charged a contact lens fitting fee $70 which I thought was odd. When I enquired about it I was told it was due to the contact lenses that I got. Then my husband mentioned he was also assessed the same fee. Given that they took really good care of my husband I didn't think to question or look into it. The second exam came around and I was charged the same fee and I asked more questions about it and they were saying that my insurance will not pay for both the exam and contact lens exam/fitting. Third exam took place on 5/2/2024. Prior to my appointment I took a deep dive into my benefits and saw that it is a covered service. When I arrived I informed the front desk of this and they printed my benefits and they confirmed it showed $0. My vision exam was swift, no issues, and no changes in contact brands. I chose to use my benefits towards my glasses and paid out of pocket for contacts as my insurance will only pay for one or the other when it comes to materials. Yesterday 5/14/24 I received a call stating my glasses were ready for pick and that I owed $70 for the contact lens fitting. I called back and left a voicemail wanting additional justification for the fee. This morning I received a phone call and I explained the above mentioned and that I have never been charged such fees. The conversation ended up going south as Stephanie was cutting me off and said they billed the insurance and contacted them and it's not covered. I then logged in and began investigating all my EOB claims. You will see an older claim ( picture 1) done at another provider showing both contact lens and comprehensive exams and I owed $0.00. Then you will see my claim at NB Eyecare where the contact lens fee was never billed. I then contacted blue cross blue shield and spoke to a claims specialist who also agreed that per my benefits I should not be charged. BCBS then contacted new Braunfels Eyecare and had a three way conversation. Bcbs the informed there billing specialist that I am being charged for services that are 100% covered. The specialist had no clue and was faulting the system and said the box is greyed out. The bcbs representative then told her to contact the provider line for assistance but I should not be having to pay a fee for the covered service. I then went in and picked up my glasses and informed them that my husband and I will no longer be patients due to there unethical billing practices which is unfortunate as both my husband and I really liked the doctors and have always had a positive experience. But we will not be subject ourselves to being taken advantage of financially.

The techs who do the glaucoma testing, Peripheral vision testing and other necessary test were very helpful taking care of my 89yo year old and let me sit by her while they did they testing . Dr. Clark explains everything to my mother. I appreciate that he is very thorough and saw concerning eye changes and sent her to a retina specialist. Landa eye center has a wide array of fashionable frames to choose from. Very satisfied with the care.

Frank Barber was extremely knowledgeable and saved us a lot of money that we had been spending monthly. His level of professionalism and service was second to none. Phone was dark & getting hot. Stopped in and Edgar was only person in store. He immediately got me a new phone, said it would cost nothing & he would transfer data. My phone still worth money but he said keep it on for sometime until I knew everything worked on new one. I sat as he helped people coming in and would periodically look at my phone. Didn't really tell me much he was busy. A couple weeks later my husband reviews our bill with a lot of charges and A NEW PHONE LINE??? Where is it going? I was on the phone nearly 2 hrs with ATT & resolved NOTHING. Called Costco since that's who I did my AT&T through originally. They indicated that I'm going to have to go back to the store and only the manager can take this off. Unbelievable I guess this person needed a sale and so he sold me a phone and a phone line. I don't even live in that same town so I'm going to have to make a trip two skirts area to see if I can get some of the substantial amount of money AT&T is taking from me due to this FRAUD.

I felt that the testing was thorough and the techs were knowledgeable and friendly. This will be my eye exam office to return to annually. Unlike other eye exam offices, this one didn't attempt to up-same me for more tests that aren't covered by insurance.

Those summer slidies actually came from this location with me remembering decent customer service on that purchase. Total opposite experience today. I was greeted upon entering and that's about it. No offer to use the stick thingy to help. 15 minutes later basically remaking a scene from White Men Can't Jump and I found my size. I then asked a staffer if he could remove the lenses from one style of frames. Here is my direction here...The wife has recently turned several pairs of sunglasses into AWESOME looking prescription frames. I got a big "Um, no" when I asked a guy to remove the dark lenses. I was ready to spend some serious dollars on multiple frames. Mrs. Rooster has been buying Prada frames which equals $$$; plus an additional $260 per frame to get her prescription into said frames. I was looking to convert some Gas Cans, possibly some Hollbrooks, and maybe some Crosshairs. After getting shot down on my simple request, I went to pay for my slides. That will be $60ish dollars. Umm, they are $30 according to the price tag. Strange cashier states that's each pair is $30. You mean $30 each left and right? Bullsnot! Then, I realized another pair of slides was to the left of my pair on the counter size 8. Yeah, not mine. One of the most AWKWARD retail experiences I've ever encountered. I would have spent more than your district manager's bi-weekly paycheck if there would have been some cooperation!
