Over the years I've worn products from the other big name brand sunglass makers and find the fit and optic quality of the Rudy Project models to be superior. I particularly like the wide range of lenses available for every lighting condition. I can easily fine tune the lenses of my Rydons for the anticipated conditions, whether it's bright mid-day sun (laser blue), hazy twilight (yellow or Racing Red) or after dark (clear). I don't use them, but several cycling and speed skating buddies say the prescription inserts work great, too. When I first tried a Rudy project helmet years ago, I wasn't a fan. They were heavy and hot. That changed a couple of years ago when they reengineered the entire line of helmets. Now, the Kontact+ is my helmet of choice. It's light and has tons of venting to let the breeze in and the heat out. The integrated bug net is also a big plus! i also like my Sterling. So, if you're looking for new sunglasses or helmet for your cycling and inline skating adventures, I highly recommend the Rudy Project products. They have wide variety of products to suit everyones' activity and sense of style. They have two web sites I visit. The main corporate site (http://www.rudyprojectusa.com) offers lots of information on the various products and technologies. When i'm ready to buy, I visit their online store, e-Rudy.com (http://www.e-rudy.com/), to make purchases.

Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering this provider to take my feedback into account. I found Dr. Taravella's bedside manner to be unprofessional and disappointing. During my pre-operative appointment, the nurse repeatedly said the doctor would be in shortly to review what would be happening during my surgery. I could hear other physicians meeting with and speaking directly to their patients, but I did not see or hear from my doctor prior to surgery. Another physician did come in and clearly explained what would be happening, which I appreciated. I did not interact with Dr. Taravella until I was already in the operating room. Even then, during the first eye surgery, he did not speak to me at all and instead conversed with what I assume were fellows present during the procedure. During one of my four post-operative appointments, I waited approximately 55 minutes to be seen. Dr. Taravella spent a total of about four minutes with me and simply stated that I was "healing nicely." He did not review my vision prescription, share my eye pressure results, or address the questions I had documented during my initial screening, specifically whether the ORA testing produced different results than my initial consultations. This was particularly frustrating given that this testing incurred a significant out-of-pocket cost that was not covered by insurance. For clarity and full transparency, I want to note that the pre-op and post-op staff, check-in staff, and other post-operative physicians were outstanding. I saw three different physicians across my four post-operative appointments, all of whom provided excellent care. My concerns are specific to the surgeon who performed the procedure. In hindsight, I wish I had selected a different physician for my surgery.

When I said I was unsure and liked what I was used to I was promised that this change could be reverted if I did not like it. When I came back I was told changing my prescription from 1-day to biweekly would cost me $80. Also, I was told by another optical professional that the daily's are more expensive (that's why this doctor wanted me to get them) and I should report them for deceptive activity). Unfortunately, the pair has a minor blemish in the lens. I was instructed to return them to any LensCrafters for a refund. It was refreshingly easy. Contrast that experience with another online frame company out of China, SmartBuyGlasses. Their website allows one to choose many options including the exact size of the frame you purchase (51mm). When we got the frames from China 3 weeks later...! they were not the size that we ordered. They were 52mm. Their customer service dept made the excuse that sometimes the manufacturer changes the size of the frames without their knowledge. But, but you are all in China! And if this is the case, then you should notify the customer before shipping the glasses. On our dime, we sent the glasses back to them to an address they provided in MA on Nov. 28, 2023. To date, Jan 5, 2024, they have denied receiving them. And to date, despite having our return address on the package, the package has not come back to us. And SmartBuyGlasses is refusing to refund our money. We have filed a complaint with the USPS against this company. Their integrity must be scrutinized. If one is inclined to go online to buy glasses, I would strongly urge them to consider LensCrafters or any US based company and avoid doing online business with a Chinese company like SmartBuyGlasses.
