We were told not to be concerned and given some medication to help with the mass before a scheduled surgery 2 week later. Over the next week the mass grew rapidly and my wife called 2 times to express concerns and was told they would call back. They did not. I brought her in the next day and this point the mass had broken the skin and was bleeding profusely. They waited most of the day before calling me and once they did they informed me they had no time for surgery and the earliest to get her in was the next Tuesday. I asked is waiting that long going to be life threatening and they assured me it was not and she was stable. When I picked her up I expressed concerns about her rapid breathing and said she doesn't look good to me. The assistant told me they had examined her and she wasn't in any immediate danger. The next morning she died in horrible pain and we were helpless to do anything about it! Had I known she was in danger I would have found alternative treatment and at least if her condition was something that couldn't be fixed I would have had an opportunity to put her down humanely. Instead she died scared and in terrible pain. I will never ever go back to the place again! I cannot help but wonder if this was one of their pets would they have taken so long to try and address the problem when it was in its either stages. I'm furious with the way we were treated and even more upset about the pain she suffered as she passed away!

They could have at lease told me to bring her in and stop the seizure then send her out, but instead she pretty much said to drive an hour and let your dog seize the whole time. The other vet wasn't even going to see him again for another eight days after the Rx he gave him wasn't working and he had continued to decline for a week. I have to say, I have had the exact opposite experience of the other review. Dr. Katie is a very…read morestraightforward person, but she is also insanely knowledgeable and has legitimately saved my horses life THREE TIMES! My mare just will not drink water when she's eating hay and just a few days ago she had a bout with very severe impaction colic. We had her transported to Hayes Equine (they have someone on call to assist with transport) and Dr. Katie kept her for two nights to make sure the impaction fully resolved. She also gave us some tips and tricks to get her to drink more during the winter. My husband usually helps Dr. Katie with whatever needs to be done to our mare, because she can be pretty bad with the vet, and he has never had any issues working with Dr. Katie. When our mare had colic the time before, Dr. Katie actually cancelled her other appointments to make a farm call at our home. If you're looking for someone to spend extra time with YOU, holding your hand and comforting you, Dr. Katie is busy! She is there to help your HORSE. Everyone in the area knows she's the best, so she has to be thorough but quick. The office staff here have always been friendly to us and I feel the prices are more than fair for the service provided. I'm honestly very grateful to Dr. Katie and her staff for saving my beloved senior mare and giving me extra time with her.

But I will speak for myself . PLEASE, for your sake but most of all your horses sake, take them anywhere else! I could tell you the night mares and money Katie Hayes has cost me and my horses and will one day if I have a couple of extra hours! This is not a fresh wound for me but felt compelled today to state my heart felt plea of warning for someone that might read yelps reviews about Katie Hayes. Don't prove me right! You will be kicking yourself because you have been forewarned. I wish she was even adequate enough since she is the closest equine vet around, but I will & do drive miles and miles to never use her again. NEVER! I will say that I did say that I would never use her once before several years ago and then used her for a simply procedure last year that one of my older horses needed on a holiday and guess what, my horse before getting him back in the trailer was at deaths door of what she did to him. She even said "you know, he propably won't make it through the night" She is COLD and only money driven. She charged me several++ hundreds of dollars because of all the meds he now needed because of what SHE DID to him. I can and will confidently say I WILL NEVER EVER have her touch a horse of mine again. Looking back my horses where NEVER EVER diagnosed correctly and what ever she did and or did not do cost my horses so much more pain and me more money. I believe with ALL MY HEART that is her plan.

Today was a tuff day for me, my cat awoke me with painful cries at 4AM, she was laying by her food…read moreand water bowel and couldn't eat. I bit the bullet took her to VEG ER for Pets, only to find out she had advanced congestive heart failure. I don't believe in putting animals down, so I went for surgery. The team was great, they did everything they could ultrasound, removed 2 12 once cans of fluid which was preventing her from eating. They gave me some discounts making the emergency visit more reasonable then normal. I get home with her, let her come out of the carrier by herself, then she moved over to the couch stayed there for some time, then she jumped off the couch heading to the bedroom wobbling, then i heard the most horrible scream of pain and she just fell. I went to pick her up she was limp, I shook her and she came too, called the vet then went back, while driving to the vet she was talking to me, when I arrive, they start working on her and her heart stopped. I told them DNR. They brought me into a consoling room to be with her gave me as much time as I wanted. Finally, when I was ready to leave, they offered cremation services which was very expensive, so I declined they gave me a cardboard coffin and went back home to do some research. While conducting research I found Pet Passages online. They made the process very easy, you order online, you bring your animal in then they take care of the rest. I like the fact pricing is all up front, no games, no guesses. The owner was really nice and totally understood what I was going through, he just lost his dog a few weeks ago. He pulled Josie out put her out on the table you see here attached. The waterfall feature in the room made it perfect to hold her one last time and greave. May she rest in peace.

Losing a pet is incredibly painful, but the way they guided us through the process made it feel gentle and respectful.
