So what is the problem? Firstly competition is fierce for sandwich shops in Bangor. I recently asked a friend of mine why he chose to go to other shops over Seven Ate Nine and he said, "I don't like the rock music they play!" So if you are a fan of rock and roll you will like Seven Ate Nine, a rather strange observation I know. One thing is for sure the problem certainly is not the Chicken Tikka Sauce, which is by far my favourite sandwich filling. The quality of the sandwich is excellent with vast choice. They will even make custom sandwiches but only if you ask nicely. Overall I have never quite warmed to this shop but that should not take anything away from its ability to create a great sandwich. Its just Seven Ate Nines competitors always stump up the goods.

The décor is dark, very dark and the mood seemed to be too! It was around lunch time and I thought it would be a little more busy, but apart from myself there was only a solitary guy typing away at a window seat. The food is a mixture of nice homely dishes and sandwich bar, not to dissimilar from the sandwich bar that used to occupy the space. I was in a rush so I only had soup with a wheat roll, but it did hit the spot. The place hadn't been open very long and hopefully business will be able to pick up! If it had at least some people in it, it might look a little less like a money laundering scam for Vampires.

Our small cups with teapots soon arrived and we waited no more than five minutes for our breakfasts - to be honest I was a little disappointed. Mine seemed rather small, a small slice of bread, a small scoop of mushrooms, one sausage and one quite fatty rasher of bacon. No sauce or salt came to the table either - I had to go in and ask for it. The food was tasty enough and when I paid the lady behind the counter asked if everything was OK. I said it was lovely but explained that soda and potato bread would just top the fry off nicely. She explained politely back that it wasn't a fry it was a breakfast and that was why there was no potato or soda bread. That was me told. I would definitely recommend the Ulster Fry as long as you don'y mind the staff being a bit weird with you. Its right in the centre of town so parking can be tough at busy times but you can always park round behind ASDA or down at the marina and just dander here.

I would definitely recommend trying the wings! For main we both had a steak sandwich/sub with cheese, sauted peppers and onions that came with a choice of side and slaw. The side I chose was sweet potato wedges. The sandwich was fantastic and full of flavour. The sweet potato wedges were by far thee best sweet potato wedges I have ever eaten outside of my own house! My plate was well and truly cleaned by the end of the meal. I will definitely be back to try some of the other delicous sounding dishes on the menu!!

Deserts were indulgent. All sorts of beers cocktails and wine on offer. Great spot, will be back!
