Saw the reviews about these guys, so went in (a bit sheepish) and explained my problem. 5 minutes later I walked out with a functioning watch, with the back reattached and me educated as to how to set my watch minutes. I used my trusty app to locate a watch repair shop near by and wondered down. I was however very aware of the fact that I was in Chelsea and heading to quite a suave Watch shop who did repairs, not repair shop that did watches. We arrived and I knocked on the door - a gentlemen came over and unlocked the door and I explained why I was there. The gentleman invited me in and asked what watch it was and I told him, Michael Kors. He replied - 'Ah, usually we wouldn't but I used to work for them so go on then...' He measured my wrist and headed downstairs. Within 5 minutes he had taken out the links and my watch fitted beautifully. I asked 'how much?' and he said no charge - no charge, in Chelsea! Winning! And off I went! Great customer service, polite and welcoming gentleman and my beautiful watch now sits perfectly on my list! HAPPY.

After unsatisfactory service from a certain 'high street' watch repair company, I finally discovered the Antique Watch Co. at 19 Clerkenwell Road who have consistently provided a truly excellent watch repair service for me over the last few years! I ordered a watch strap (as he did not have the right size in) and it only arrived 10 days after I placed the order, when he said it would take a couple of days. More importantly, this man is very impolite and refuses to acknowledge his wrongdoing, let alone apologise and compensate me. He did not follow up on an item which should have arrived within 2-3 days (this is not a fault of the post but of his relatinoship with the manufacturer sending it out), and he did not even call me out of courtesy to let me know of the delay, NOR when the watch finally arrived even though he had promised he would call. When I called to complain he refused to acknowlegde his wrongdoing and conciliate. This is very unfortunate as I have pre-paid but otherwise I certainly will not, ever, be going back. He was also closed on Saturday when he claims he is "normally" open and replied, rudely, to me "well I have a life outside of this business so keep your nose out" when I asked politely why he claims he is open when he is not on Saturdays. I really would advise you NOT to give this man a penny.

Foolishly I did not ask the price and they charged me 50£. I commented at the time how I felt it was a bit rich and later discovered I was correct in my assumption. Quoted 10£ later that day. Returned to ask why I had been charged so much and they said it was because it was a Tagheuer but I suspect they mistook my Canadian accent for American and also assumed I was a tourist. KEEP AWAY!!!! I asked them to replace my watch glass. They said they will put the same as the…read moreoriginal glass but in the end they put a plastic glass as opposed to the original mineral crystal arguing that's the best they could find. They should have told me in this case they couldn't do it as agreed. Then they kept lying arguing that they said 'similar' not 'same', that such glass cannot be made of crystal, that it does not exist, that what they put is the original etc... all bollocks. They still charged me £55. They are so disrespectful to their customers, that one of the staff comfortably admitted to me that they also lie when they set the price range: as a rule they will always charge the maximum. As he saw I wasn't happy he didn't charge me £60 though but £55 instead (the price range they originally gave me was from £50 to £60). In short: they are technically incompetent, terrible customer service, rude, stupid, and harmful. DO NOT GO THERE. I have already notified the watch manufacturer not to recommend this place to their customers.
