I have used Kokos three times so far... the first time was to partially resole my favourite pair of…read moreHudson boots (which I had worn down to a toe-hole), the second time to partially resole my wife's cowboy boots (which were significantly worn down to the welt threads) and the third time to completely rebuild a pair of vintage '70's Saxone suede boots. In each instance, I found their service from intake to end result absolutely 'top class'. If Yelp provided the facility to upload photos, I would gladly show you the fine work they do. I don't remember the cost of the first repair but the repair on my wife's cowboy boots was £49, and well worth it. I was worried entrusting a pair of authentic American cowboy boots to a British cobbler, but they did a lovely job on them. The full rebuild of my vintage suede boots was £129, which seems expensive considering that you could purchase a pair of 'half decent' boots for that price... but I acquired these boots for just £20 and the end result is of incomparable quality and appearance. You can't find this boot anywhere these days and you'd need to have them made bespoke, so £20+£129 rebuild is a value. For £129, I had the entire sole and heel replaced, as well as the top inner lining. I absolutely love the finished product. I will return again. They're true craftspersons, not just 'shoe repair'. From what I understand, it's a long-running family trade. I really cannot say enough good things about them.

This and you just don't get the mileage out of leather soles. Which means you keep needing to replace them as well as having wet feet which is expensive as well as damp. I've had this pair a few years and rarely wear them but they're very comfortable and so I thought I'd give them a new lease of life. I have also been thinking about switching a few pairs of my leather soled shoes to Dainite soles which are the regular non-leather alternative for a quality shoe. So I dropped them into James and got these Vibram soles put on. In a tasteful blue with cool detailing visible on the side, they look the part, they will wear much better than the previous rubber soles and they'll keep my feet dry too!

Quick review for this. Timpson's is a key cutting/shoe repair shop all over London. This particular…read moreshop is hidden away in the maze that is Bank station and is best found by following the smell of burnt rubber. For such a small place, it provides a ridiculous array of services and the guys there get the job done quickly. Oh and they also do watch repair/battery replacement but don't get suckered into the lifetime guarantee unless you've got a classic watch you expect to wear and not lose for years.
