If I could give zero stars, I would. I went for an in-person consultation the beginning of 2020 and…read morediscussed what I would like to have done in detail with plenty of pictures of examples. I knew it was going to be a big task as I was planning an entire sleeve so I needed to make sure he was up for it and it was in his realm. The previous person I talked to said he was unable to so I wanted to make sure in person. When I went to see him, he rushed me through my explanation saying "yeah yeah, I can do it. No problem." I felt like he seemed confident so I decided to go through him. He made me pay a $150 deposit and we scheduled for a month out. He told me that 2-3 days before the appointment, he would send a pic to make sure we were on the same page and make any adjustments I needed. The day before, I still hadn't heard from him so I asked for a follow up picture. It took him a couple hrs to reply, likely because he hadn't thought about it yet. When he finally sent it, he chose like 2 pictures he wanted to do and they weren't even what I wanted prioritized, which I made clear at our consultation. I asked him to switch things around and he said it would look dumb to do it the way I wanted but he never mentioned that when I went to his office. He continued to put me down while I was trying to remain polite and tell him his ideas were good, just not what I was going for. Then he said he was unable to work with me (after talking for about 10 minutes) and refused to give me my deposit back because of the work he put in. Mind you, the "work" he put in was a photoshop of my arm and a couple pictures of his choosing that didn't quite give the vibe I wanted. I had no idea what his end goal was and he was completely rude. I feel like he takes advantage of people often because it was so easy for him to write me off. I will never go to him, nor recommend him. His Instagram is deeshuistyle and he goes by D. Shui. If you value having a good experience and great end product while being included in the decision to alter your body forever, then don't go to him. **EDIT: You definitely took my money and were unwilling to work with me. You may deal with endless clients and forget them, but I have only had tattoos by a handful of artists and I'll never forget someone who was completely rude. Maybe no one will listen to this review and maybe they will. Either way, I just want to help other unsuspecting potential clients make the right decision about their body.

I knew that my tattoo would be a chrysanthemum, but nothing more than that. My tattoo took 3 appointments, but I appreciated that it was broken down this way. The first appointment I had was to consult with Jimmy about what I wanted. I explained that my tattoo was a memorial for my mom who had passed away. It was to be a chrysanthemum because it was our shared birth flower and a favorite of my moms. Jimmy asked about colors and I mentioned I wanted to encorporate green because it was mom's favorite color. He showed me several images of chrysanthemums and explained their significance in Japanese art and tattoo culture. Knowing how well the flower matched my reasons for getting it, I was confident I had chosen the perfect artist for my piece. My second appointment was for the outline. I appreciated that Jimmy took the time to explain the process to me and made sure I knew what was going on as he worked on my. He checked in to be sure I was comfortable (as comfortable as you can be getting a tattoo). I left with a beautiful outline in a relatively short amount of time. My last appointment was for color, shading and completion. Jimmy showed me the colors he had chosen based on our initial consultation and again talked me through the process. I am beside myself with the beauty of the piece I am now wearing. I highly reccomend Jimmy Mack Tattoo to anyone looking for quality work created by an artist.

He walked me through everything he was doing; from set up, to sketching, positioning, why he was doing things the way he did, & kept me calm & at ease while tattooing. After about 5 hours, we finished my outline & any black shading that my piece included. Lowi is quick & efficient, with that being said I didn't feel like he was rushing one little bit. When I needed a break, he gave me time; checking on me often to see that I was handling okay. I'll be back to his shop in about a month to add color & touch ups to my tattoo! *Update* I returned for my 2nd session & added color to my thigh piece. Finally finished my piece completely (1/29/17)

I had started to do some research and soon an idea formed. I went online to see what to look for in a tattoo shop and set out to find the perfect one. I stopped by a couple of shops in the Waikiki area, but didn't feel comfortable or that I was anything more than cattle. Once I stopped into lowi's shop, he greeted me and the vibe was professional and inviting. Lowi was patient with me (I asked a 1001 questions from how he got his needles to how long his been doing this) he answered everyone of my questions with a sense of pride. We then talked about my idea and I showed him a picture my inspiration and he was genuinely excited and asked me a 1001 questions about my idea and he then drew his pants off! This process took about 2 weeks but it was worth all the time. He was responsive and it was a total collaboration between him and I. Once we got to the actual tattooing, he showed me each of his tools and opened all the packages infront me letting me see the seals and again answered all my questions. I was nervous to begin, he made me feel at ease and didn't rush anything. For my first session we went 7 hours and I couldn't be happier with the progress. Though we did not get through all of it in one sitting (half-sleeve, so it was large) he didn't leave it so incomplete it looked goofy he outlined and shaded in the majority of it so even though him and I know more work needs to be done it as the appearance of more complete work. I appreciate the fact that he was efficient with the time. He also worked around my arm giving me breaks on the more tinder areas so it wasn't just in one area. The price was fair and the level of work was amazing! Would highly recommend this shop and Lowi!
