My girlfriend had a bad experience with Ariel. @hellafreshhawaii My girlfriend had an appointment with her, she shows up at the shop and Ariel didn't even show up or did not acknowledge that she will not make it until a hour after. We were okay with that and didn't mind to reschedule. So the day of reschedule day my girlfriend was unsure if she will make it on time, she messaged Ariel to let her know she will be an hour late. Ariel responded yes that's fine. Now my girlfriend is rushing to leave her job, go home and get ready she realizes after getting ready she can show up close to the original time scheduled. But because they agreed that she will be an hour late, my girlfriend showed up to the shop early but left to eat and come back. Meanwhile Ariel is messaging her but my girlfriend did not respond right away so I guess that made Ariel assume that my girlfriend will not show up at all and was thinking she wants to reschedule entirely. So Ariel practically tells her I was confuse on your appointment so let's reschedule this will be the second time she will not show up to an appointment. So unfortunately my girlfriend just rather go to someone else. Once she told her you know what just cancel the appointment. Ariel just doesn't care and doesn't respond. So now our $325 deposit is gone, what a waste of time and money. I had never had an experience with an any tattoo artist , it's very unprofessional and I hope they don't do it to another because losing a deposit will be unfortunate. Ariel made my girlfriend feel like she didn't want to do the tattoo. As a tattoo artist wouldn't you want your client to feel welcomed and acknowledge. Wouldn't you want to satisfy your client after not showing up the first time? Looks like you don't care. Now we are going to take our money and take it to someone that really cares about there customers cause this place makes you feel like they want your deposit and that's it.

UPSTANDING, humble guy who is really warm and friendly, on top of being a patient, steady handed tattoo artist. He's honed his craft for sure. The shop is SUPER open, in every way. You walk in and are instantly seen and greeted, whether at the counter or from across the shop by the artists. They're always playing some bangers on the radio, so everyone can settle in and relax off the bat, and they all offer a varying skillset and personality. The shop owner is even an absolute vibe and sticks around to chat & check out the work being done. If you are still searching for a solid artist or haven't been to any shops on island yet--Rising Tide needs to be at the TOP of your list. Artist said he will hand draw the flowers, I'm used to artists printing out sketches & giving me visual & precise options. What ticked me off the most was when I asked to add or change anything, he gave a sigh, a sigh that made me think it was such an inconvenience for me to say my opinions on the piece he is tattooing on on me & as a paying customer, I felt like an inconvenience. I'm traumatized & just wanted to leave the shop right away given the situation. I would not recommend this artists "of 30 years experience" to anyone. Nope.

I had to interview with him before we would accept me, and we "talked story" for a long time discussing my family history and my history, and what I was looking for, and my respect for Hawaii, its people, and its culture and history. The top piece is a chief's collar and there is symbology for mountains representing soldiers, fishnet for the ocean and the star on my upper arm representing my love for astronomy and the polynesian voyaging tradition, and the star is actually the design for an ancient Hawaiian kite! So happy with the result. Coolest of all we never drew a design; Jordan just goes!

Laser tattoo removal review - heard about this place on someone's post asking for place…read morerecommendations for laser tattoo removal and slick vision was most recommended, so here we are for laser tattoo removal. Well, first time we went in to go inquire, we just wanted a quote, so the girl at the front helped us. She had to be the messenger and actually text the laser tattoo removal technician. Having the wife remove her exes names off her body lol yeppp, on more than one spot of her body, each side of her neck, big one across her chest, back of her right arm, back of her left calf, and back of left hand. So the girl had to take pictures of all the tattoos, send it over, and got our quote and appointment scheduled. Slick vision is located in Aiea. I went spock em coming down from Aiea heights drive, after eating at Aiea bowl, so it's straight ahead at the bottom of Aiea Heights drive. Parking is in the back where Sushi spot and El Miriachi is. Day of appointment came. We scheduled on a Saturday evening at 5PM. Wife went in, they went in the back. And she came back out in pain. Shout out to Heidi (I think that's her name) for being patient, nice, understanding, and professional. Wife said that she turned in to a cockroach laying on the table. Lol The laser treatment burns. It's basically burning off the tattoos. And still got more sessions to go. You have to let Heidi know if you just trying to lighten it, or completely off. Wife said that it felt worser than getting the tattoo, but faster than getting a tattoo. That's the experience. Got 2, 3, 10 more sessions to go!
