I already paid for my service in full nor do I want a refund, so there is no reason for me to make up a fictitious story about my appointment. I never leave bad reviews for businesses but my experience with the technician/co-owner, Creeland was too problematic to not say anything. I shared my first-hand experience and I stand by what I wrote and how I felt. First of all, I was not aware that the appointment was being recorded and I did not consent to being recorded. That's very concerning that a client's private session within a treatment room is recorded. I would expect a high level of privacy in closed room ESPECIALLY in a beauty salon where clients are getting various treatments done. Additionally before my appointment, I asked specifically if I could keep my contacts in and was told to remove it. Without my contacts, I can't see anything. So I'm not in a position to read or review anything posted at the door. I would think that a verbal consent would be done prior to being recorded. I also understand that clients may choose whether they want to chat during a service. That does not change the fact that the conversation I experienced included unsolicited and deeply uncomfortable topics and comments. I did not mind the conversation until it spiraled into something inappropriate. I'm not interested in debating my personal experience publicly. As a business owner in a predominantly women serving field, instead of dismissing a concern, maybe addressing what occurred should've been the first step. I would have appreciated a response that acknowledged my experience rather than simply disputing it and then trying to get my review removed.

So I called the town location and the owner Hideko answered - I explained to her the situation and she apologized and said that she'd come to Kapolei that week and do the consultation herself. The day of my consultation I called a couple hours before and asked if she'd be able to do the actual service and they were able to accommodate me and said yes! This Kapolei location is nearby Ho'okele elementary and it's a small little shop with one bed in the center. It's very clean and relaxing. Hideko answered all of my questions and concerns. She drew out how my brows would look like and asked if I'd like to proceed. The process itself felt like tiny scratches on my brows not too sore. From consultation to finish it took about 2 hours 45 minutes. Hideko really connects with her clients, gets to know them and takes her time putting in quality work. The price I paid was $800 without tax or tip but I'm very happy with how it came out and I don't regret it at all. A follow-up/touch-up appointment is included in the price you pay if you'd like to add more detail or anything. Thank you so much Hideko and definitely would come back again!

I had my first appointment close to a month ago to have my brows done at their Century Center location. Now that a second one opened closer to home I scheduled my re-touch at the Kapolei location. It is in close vicinity of Ashley Furniture just off Kapolei Parkway close to a school and in a residential area. You will need to find street parking so be on the lookout for the Island Beauty sandwich board fronting the salon. Upon entering it felt like walking into the chicest spa with beautiful music, white fur chairs, white treatment tables and romantic wallpaper set off by a stunningly chandelier. Hideko checked on how my brows turned out after the first session, then marked points and measured to make sure both brows were aligned. This time she was going to microblade my brows after the numbing gel was applied. She cautioned me that I would feel more this time...so true as I felt my left hand grasping onto the table and what seemed like I penetrated the tissue paper lining. She asked if I was okay, applied more numbing gel. I had asked about the microblade tool which she showed me was new and in a sterile wrapper. It was so tiny like a pen but consisted of 17 needle like protrusions but I'd need a magnifying glass to really see. When the procedure was done she nodded approval and smiled and I was very pleased at the outcome. Hideko really is a master at her craft, I felt very confident being worked on by her. During that call, I stated that I was willing to provide medical documentation regarding the pink eye diagnosis, and that offer was not welcomed at the time. So it's confusing to now see that documentation is being requested publicly. The photo attached to my original review was taken immediately after the service. In that image, you can see that some lashes were not properly isolated and several were not lifted upward evenly. Additionally, the rods were in place for the duration of the 1.5-hour appointment while the facial, dermaplaning, and extractions were being performed. I understand policies exist, but the experience itself, both during the service and in the follow-up communication, is why I felt compelled to leave my review. Clients deserve to feel heard and taken seriously, especially when a medical issue follows a treatment. Ultimately, based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this business.

Maezy is incredible! Her portrait work is hands down the best I've come across--and I've done a ton of research. I booked my session months in advance, and she was super accommodating, even with me flying in from the mainland. She's laid-back, easy to vibe with, and has an awesome personality. The studio is clean, private, and free of foot traffic, so it's just you and her--no interruptions, no distractions. I'm already looking forward to coming back once I decide on my next piece. I began hearing really good things about Microblading, but I wasn't sure if it was for me. My daughter began following Kamryn who works out of Studio 6 Salon and Spa and really liked her work. My daughter had her eyebrows done first and it looked beautiful and very natural so I decided to give it a go. I liked that she followed my natural brow shape to re create my brows. I believe everyone has their own natural brow shape and should stay true to their shape. Kamryn explained that first my brows will peel then get darker, but will eventually look softer. In six weeks my brows will be touched up and will be given more density. I am very impressed with how real they look and can't wait to see the final product. I have since returned for my touch up and loving my brows even more. I definitely recommend Kamryn if you always wanted beautiful brows and just couldn't achieve the look you wanted or hate drawing them in. There are so many places out there, and with face masks beginning to be part of the norm, all attention is on the eyes. Because of the permanence, I really wanted them to look... nice. I discovered Xionxé and Akari Artistry through the Priestess Ink Family, and researched her work on Instagram (@akari.artistry). I liked how natural her work looked, so I reached out via DM. Xionxé responded within a few hours (a girl's got customers) and we worked out an appointment time slot. The procedure would be about 2 hours long, and there will be a touch up appointment after a month. So the day arrives, and I'm suddenly a ball of nerves again. It was my first time walking into an actual tattoo shop, and turns out I was nervous for nothing! I was pleasantly surprised. The shop is clean and sophisticated in its decor, with gray tones and mirrors. Xionxé warmly welcomed me, with a big smile through her eyes (behind the mask, I could tell!) and I immediately felt comfortable. Xionxé explained the procedure I would be getting is the ombré powder brows. She also explained she was going to do all the preparations and verify with me on the shape and everything before proceeding to make it "permanent" (it will last up to two years after the touch up appointment about a month later). She made sure I was comfortable the entire time, and walked me through the pain process, explaining that after she applied the initial numbing cream she would reapply throughout the procedure as needed, I just need to let her know if I started to feel anything. She even provided a blanket in case I got cold with the cool air conditioning. Xionxé got her skills as a tattoo artist here, so it was a natural fit for her salon to be based on the first floor of the same shop. She is so friendly and cheerful, just the sweetest!! And her attention to detail is spot on, a true perfectionist! After the job was done, she went over the steps to take care of my brows during the healing process (7-10 days) and even gave me a cute care kit. Thank you Xionxé, I absolutely LOVE my brows, and can't wait to return for the touch up!
