I texted a picture of my crooked faded brows and she texted me back she could fix them so I took the chance and made an appointment. My appointment took over three hours, for Rita mapped out my brows, checked and rechecked and tripled checked before injecting ink into my face. The result was astounding and I'm so happy with my new shape and size. She used to work from home and I recently went to her new location for touch up and it's very clean and sanitized. There are so many places out there, and with face masks beginning to be part of the norm, all attention is on the eyes. Because of the permanence, I really wanted them to look... nice. I discovered Xionxé and Akari Artistry through the Priestess Ink Family, and researched her work on Instagram (@akari.artistry). I liked how natural her work looked, so I reached out via DM. Xionxé responded within a few hours (a girl's got customers) and we worked out an appointment time slot. The procedure would be about 2 hours long, and there will be a touch up appointment after a month. So the day arrives, and I'm suddenly a ball of nerves again. It was my first time walking into an actual tattoo shop, and turns out I was nervous for nothing! I was pleasantly surprised. The shop is clean and sophisticated in its decor, with gray tones and mirrors. Xionxé warmly welcomed me, with a big smile through her eyes (behind the mask, I could tell!) and I immediately felt comfortable. Xionxé explained the procedure I would be getting is the ombré powder brows. She also explained she was going to do all the preparations and verify with me on the shape and everything before proceeding to make it "permanent" (it will last up to two years after the touch up appointment about a month later). She made sure I was comfortable the entire time, and walked me through the pain process, explaining that after she applied the initial numbing cream she would reapply throughout the procedure as needed, I just need to let her know if I started to feel anything. She even provided a blanket in case I got cold with the cool air conditioning. Xionxé got her skills as a tattoo artist here, so it was a natural fit for her salon to be based on the first floor of the same shop. She is so friendly and cheerful, just the sweetest!! And her attention to detail is spot on, a true perfectionist! After the job was done, she went over the steps to take care of my brows during the healing process (7-10 days) and even gave me a cute care kit. Thank you Xionxé, I absolutely LOVE my brows, and can't wait to return for the touch up!
