I had to interview with him before we would accept me, and we "talked story" for a long time discussing my family history and my history, and what I was looking for, and my respect for Hawaii, its people, and its culture and history. The top piece is a chief's collar and there is symbology for mountains representing soldiers, fishnet for the ocean and the star on my upper arm representing my love for astronomy and the polynesian voyaging tradition, and the star is actually the design for an ancient Hawaiian kite! I came in to get an outline of the Hawaiian islands, I wasn't sure if I wanted to get it filled in but Jordan sketched out the mountain ranges and I liked it so we went with it. I was very excited to get this tattoo bc I moved away to the east coast 5 years ago for school and stayed out there when I got a job. Being so far from home, I wanted to feel closer. I absolutely LOVE how this turned out. It's even better than I had imagined. Jordan was in absolutely no rush to have me make a decision, super easy to talk to, and did such a great job making sure the mountain ranges were accurate for each island. I'm also not the best with needles and was super nervous to go anywhere near my spine but the pain wasn't as bad as I anticipated! My first and immediate impression of Jordan was that he was very laid back, friendly, and easy going. I was recommended here by my wife after I saw how well he did a cover up tattoo on her neck free handed and it gave me confidence that I wanted him to tattoo my sleeve. My first of many appointments was scheduled for 10 o clock. Due to crappy luck with parking, I ended up arriving at 10:05. I swear he put the stencil on my arm and we started the tattoo at 10:08...I mention this because I have experienced many shops that will start your stencil the moment you walk in like what was the point of our appointment??? I'm also glad that he was one of the easiest people to talk to and we talked about everything from raising kids to military to what kind of food we enjoy to lifting weights and just living a healthy life. I swear my first break came about 2.5-3 hrs into the session (because my fatass needed to eat a protein bar) and I didn't even know that we tattooed that long. During the tattoo, he was so light handed, quick and precise. His view on the price was more than fair and just his overall objective view on life was very enlightening. I really need to stop getting tattooed but this experience was so awesome that I might keep getting tatted (using him as an excuse). This is my first review of any business but I need to share my experience. I had a cover up piece done for me in the past and I loved it. Although it hurt because of the scarring from the original messed up tattoo, Jordan freehand a lotus flower with some designs and covered it up beautifully. I was recommended to Kulture Ink Tattoo by my daughter's in laws and I'm glad I went. I even brought my grandson to do his very first tattoo with Jordan and needless to say he loved it. He came back to Hawaii with a friend from Arizona and had another piece done. I can say with all certainty that he will be back with his friend after they are done planning their next piece. I recently lost my little chihuahua from a seizure and he passed away in my arms. I was so heartbroken and wanted his paw-prints tattooed on my foot but asked Jordan if he was able to do a portrait. He told me to send the picture in and later on he emailed me back to let me know the portrait would look more beautiful because the colors were so vivid but again it was up to me because he could do either one. I made my appointment and chose the portrait. It was so comfortable, quiet , it didn't throb or even itch. I got blessed for sure. I started to cry when I got a glimpse of my dog's photo because it looked just like him. I waited till the end for the reveal. When I saw it in its entirety, The tears started flowing. It was so beautiful or should I say Handsome and I kept saying "it looks just like him". Jordan and Regina is awesome. Their shop is very clean and orderly every single time I have been in there for myself or anyone else. I highly recommend their business if you want a clean, sterilized and amazing tattoo.
