A relaxing, pedestrian-friendly downtown area with shops, steakhouses and sports bars. The Plaza has small theaters, events and concerts. Not sure the two Van Cliburn banners are permanent or only during his piano completion, which occurs every four years. It's a short walk to the Bass Hall where the competition takes place - which brought us to Fort Worth. Three musicians are playing jazz on a Thursday afternoon at the Plaza - still playing at 7pm. read more

Don't park here. Stayed at the aloft hotel across the street. Decided to park there because you will think it's cheaper than the hotel valet. Oh no. An overnight stay, 50 dollars. Also, water fountains where the kids can have some fun. A couple of restaurants and businesses are in the area. And sometimes you'll see events held here. As usual, the Square, along with the surrounding businesses, were all decked out with holiday decorations and cheer. My sister and I walked around while waiting for reservations at The Cheesecake Factory. We also enjoyed the safety of downtown as there were law enforcement and security officers visibly patrolling the streets and sidewalks. Come enjoy Sundance Square. Sad. Absolutely sad. I know that we are still in the age of Covid-19, and that there are tons of restrictions, mandates, and life adjustments around both businesses and municipal recreational areas that are supposed to keep citizens safe. However, when there are plenty of restaurants open at full capacity and Sundance Square is closed? That's truly disappointing. The glorious fountains within the middle of the Square? Turned off until further notice. Additional seating within the square by Del Frescos? Roped off, and shut down. The Starbucks next to the fountains? Empty on the weekends. Its so bad that even the pigeons stopped coming here to defecate. What was once a part of downtown Fort Worth's glorious renaissance has now become a Covid-19 casualty. Mayor Parker, please do something about this. read more

Lovely spot to take a walk around downtown Fort Worth. Just a few blocks from hotels like Aloft and The Worthington. I was there on a rainy night, but still enjoyed the displays of the water fountain and the big jolly holiday tree. It is heavy on Christmas, without mention of other winter holidays, like there's a massive nativity thing. But it was a clean, safe, chill environment to walk around and get some steps. My 300th review goes to Sundance Square! I especially enjoy spending time here during the holidays. I love Christmas trees and their annual grand tree just warms my holiday spirit. The strung lights over the water fountains adds to the festive atmosphere. They even have Santa at the stage area for picture taking. Speaking of picture taking, you've got to take one with the tree! And be prepared for people asking you to take pictures for them. I always happily oblige when asked. You're helping a family, friends, or couples capture a special moment. I take this task seriously and enjoy seeing their faces light up when they see their pic. Starbucks is on the Square for your hot drinks to keep you warm or ice cold drinks for warmer weather. Which, is also a nice time to enjoy the Square. Great for a family outing, hanging out with friends, or nice date night. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. My friends and take our desserts to go and enjoy it leisurely on the Square and people watch. It's a great hangout place right in the middle of downtown Fort Worth! read more

Love this area. It's so adorable. Love the fountain, lights at night, music... I have to say that there isn't the greatest shopping, imo. When you read the tourist stuff about Sundance, they talk about the shopping. Eh. They have some, but it's either super expensive art or tons of food. We did find some cool shops, but go there with an open mind and don't expect it to be block upon blocks of great shops to go into. There is enough to keep it interesting for a short time, but nothing spectacular. That said, the photo ops and open plaza is great. We did not eat/dine/drink here, so we probably could have made it more fun , had we chosen to. We found street parking, but it was a Sunday, so it was easier to find parking. If you drive up on a weekend night, I would venture to guess you will have to find a parking ramp or something. read more

You have to go to Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth. It is an area in downtown that is fun to hang out in. There is plenty of shopping, restaurants and other thing to do. We like to walk around and eat at one of the many restaurants on the weekends. There is a square that everybody stands around in. You feel very safe in downtown Fort Worth plenty of people walking around. And you will see security also. Once in a while someone will hit you up for money. And you may get bothered by the religious nut jobs. But over all very safe feeling. The parking is free in some of Sundance garages. Check it out on-line to get locations. There is street parking but that fills up. And you can valet park just get validated. read more

Fun to walk around at night as the place lights up and blends historic Art Deco architecture with modern bistros, art galleries and shopping. This is one of my favorite places in Fort Worth! Who doesn't love Sundance Square?? Wonderful place to bring the kiddos during summer to play in the dancing water fountain. At night, the water is lit up and dances, so pretty! There is also lots of fun dining, entertainment, and hotels just steps from Sundance Square Plaza. Perfect place to stop on date night to grab some coffee and people watch. I know Jon G. and I have definitely ended a few date nights with coffee from Starbucks and a slice of cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory, while watching the dancing water here. During winter, they set up a huge tree here that is gorgeous when lit! They also have little seasonal events here, such as live music and what not. There is also lots of parking close by!! read more

This is one of the places I was most looking forward to coming to when I booked my trip to Texas! After many months of stalking this place on instagram the sense of happiness I felt watching the dancing water next to a Christmas tree can't be put into words! This place is awesome. There's a movie theater, a Cheesecake Factory, a Starbucks (or two), a Jamba Juice, an assortment of shops and places to eat and it spans so many blocks! I had a blast just walking around seeing all the places and sights in this area. The Christmas lights that covered the buildings was a plus too. I definitely enjoyed it more at night than during the day, that's for sure! But it's a nice place to go on a casual night out to just hanging out, take a walk and spend some quality time with friends or your significant other! read more

I have been coming here for years, and the latest incarnation of Sundance Square is the best so far. I really like the fact that after 5pm on weekdays and all day on weekends you can park for free. It makes the half hour trek from DDFW Airport worth it. There are so many great places to eat, drink and relax here you don't have to go to the same place twice for a few months. The new water fountains in the square are a fantastic edition to the area. It's great to see family's letting their kids play while music by live bands or by music piped in plays on. As for entertainment you have a lot to pick from. You have comedy clubs, jazz bars, Bass performance hall, Four Day Weekend (they are like the kids in the hall), dueling piano bar, karaoke, movie theaters, stage theaters, a library and tons of art galleries. For restaurants you have a mixture of it all, BBQ, the flying saucer, Oliver's, coffee houses, fondue restaurants, sushi, seafood, Tex-mex, steak houses, Korean houses, Cajun and not to far away a micro brewery. I'm sure I missed a few but those are the ones I have gone too. You can come here any time of year and have a great time. I strongly suggest you bring your family or a date for a day of fun to remember. If you leave here bored you're doing it wrong. read more

If you do not want to walk to the square, take the Molly Trolley. We enjoyed having breakfast at Yolk. We enjoyed looking at the local shops. We really liked the Sid Richardson Museum. Rudest person of the season, the lady in black with the "I want to speak to the manager" haircut. You can't even get in line to see Santa. You have to check in via text, which I've been doing since they opened and I keep getting texts that they're full or closed. Ok, cool. Try to get in line, that had 10 people or 2 families, and told they weren't letting anyone in because Santa goes on break IN AN HOUR. I asked what would someone without a phone do, imagine for a moment that we don't have a phone. This troll, I mean elf, at the top starts talking down to us like I'm an idiot and that's "how everyone does it" and she "literally had not had that problem all day". In the time it took her to condescend, we could've taken the picture 4 times over. So SDS, you're not going to even have an option for families without cell phones to see Santa?! If you're going to use a virtual line, you have to have notifications that match the situation. It's not cool to spend 40 minutes in a car only to find out they're not closed, just not letting anyone in line. We've done this every year for 13 years, same place. The water effects are very very nice, and give some real lift and quality to the area. The upside down umbrellas were unique and with the led have potential. As an outdoor music venue it may be a nice place for light music and a stroll. For opening weekend it was a bit sad that they weren't fully staffed with tons of different booths and opportunities and trying this and trying that I was actually quite surprised at the small turnout. The new RadioShack store is a joke. What was being billed as a part museum parts sales is really just the same old RadioShack with a facelift and about 9 feet of cases, 3 three-foot sections of some of the oldies but goodies. I actually went to the RadioShack first prior to the Square. For all the occupancy that was being billed on the radio it really didn't show or translate into real activities. The place has some real opportunities especially when Bass Hall lets out. read more
