I recently had to pick out flowers for my mom's memorial service. I had something very specific in mind with purples fuchsia's and a tiny bit of yellow with a lot of green. Kristin was amazing to work with. I went in a couple times to see what they had, and on the second visit there was no doubt in the flowers that I thought would be perfect for the church arrangements and reflect my mothers personality. A friend recently ordered a beautiful basket of flowers to be sent to me on my birthday. She requested that the flowers arrive at my home by 3:30pm on a Saturday and that the delivery person call in advance to let me know that the flowers were on the way. It was a beastly hot and humid day. When I left my home at 4pm that afternoon, I found the basket of flowers at my doorstep. The delivery person neither called me nor even had the courtesy of ringing the doorbell to alert me that a delivery was at the front door. I called the florist on Monday to ask when the flowers had been delivered and explain what had happened. The woman answering the phone looked at the delivery manifest and at first said delivery was at 2pm and when I expressed horror (that the flowers were in the heat for several hours), she corrected herself and said delivery was at 3pm. In either case, the flowers were left in the heat for at least 1 hour and perhaps as long as two hours. Let me add, too, that the woman on the phone offered no apologies nor expressed any regret that the request for a call wasn't honored or that the lovely (expensive) arrangement had been left in the heat for that length of time. I will take my business elsewhere and encourage all that I know to do likewise. Poor business practices and even worse customer service at Suncoast Florist. read more

This place is wonderful! We are still kind of new in town, and are stoked to have found such an great florist. In the past few weeks alone: 1. My husbands used them to special order my favorite roses. Sterling roses are not normally stocked - he said they helpful, affordable and were able get this special order in quickly! 2. I placed an order to send a Get Well bouquet to a friend and had a photo of a design in mind. They matched the design perfectly! 3. We have guest coming this weekend to celebrate their birthday at the beach. I wanted to put a celebratory arrangement in the guest room to welcome them. I called ahead to make sure they could get sunflowers (my guests favorite!) and asked if we could bring my own vase in to use - that way, we save a little money on the container and can put those funds in the flowers. The arrangement is pretty and festive! We have used them 3 times in the past few weeks and will continue to use them for all our flower needs to come. Highly recommend! read more

I ordered flowers for my mother and the assisted living facility staff, where she lives . I paid $60.00 per arraignment (2) . They were hideous, not professionally arranged and extremely disappointing on top of being embarrassing. The flowers were not even close to what I ordered or valentine colors - instead of of hot pink/ red roses and pink tiger lilies I got white and yellow mums and 3 red carnations! They were tiny ugly mums in a 4 inch vase tied with purple and orange balloon ribbon! I wish I could post a picture to show just how pathetic both arrangements looked. Will NEVER order from this place again! If I had an option to give ZERO stars that is what they would have received. read more

Their treatment of my recently-bereaved friend was absolutely disgraceful. Flowers were not delivered to a funeral/memorial service, despite the customer being charged. When asked about this, customer rep on their Facebook page implied that my friend was "publicly" libelling them (when she had sent a private message via Facebook Messenger) and continued to avoid responsibility and throw shade on my friend. I'm disgusted that anyone could behave this way to a mourner. I'd rather send freshly-weeded dandelions from the tree on the corner on which my dog tends to pee, than any flora they have to offer. They demonstrate a complete lack of compassion, sympathy or any capability to accept responsibility for making a mistake. Shame on them. read more

When my father passed away several weeks ago, my colleagues clicked a link on the obituary I'd shared, in order to send us flowers and show their support. I didn't know the flowers had been ordered and I never received or saw them, as they were allegedly placed in the room where the memorial service was held without anyone telling us. After discovering the order on the obituary page after I returned to my home out-of-state, I reached out to the funeral home, explained about the flowers and asked if my colleagues could receive a refund. My contact at the funeral home spoke to the florists responsible for the order - Suncoast Florist - and apparently, the florists said I should contact them directly. I couldn't find an email address for them anywhere on their website or Facebook page, so I sent them a politely-worded private message using Facebook Messenger. The page administrator's response was rude and nasty, and showed incredible ignorance by twice accusing me of posting my message publicly, when I had, in fact, sent a private message. His tone throughout his long response - as well as a subsequent response - was appalling and at times condescending, and any legitimate claims he may have raised were completely lost. The irony is that while Suncoast Florist might not be the party responsible for the error that led to us not getting the flowers (I'm still trying to figure it out), the disgusting treatment I've been receiving from their Facebook page administrator - especially given the context - means that I will never recommend them to any of my Sarasota-based friends and family. I received a beautiful arrangement from Suncoast from friends and was happy to know of another good florist designer in my area. However, two of the three sunflowers and all of the yellow miniature roses were wilted within 4 days and the water became extremely foul-smelling and cloudy, unlike an arrangement from a different florist a day earlier whose water is still clear now. (To be fair, different flowers were used in that one). I just question the freshness of the Suncoast floral materials. read more

Got flowers from them. The arrangement was SMALL, and the flowers (three roses) had no smell whatsoever. The flowers began to wilt in two days, even though I changed the water daily, within five days they were dead, dead, dead. Rip off. read more
