Our initial tour of The Learning Cottage left us feeling completely confident that this was the best place for our family (a feeling we had yet to experience at many other centers). We were thrilled when a part time spot opened in the JPI classroom and were able to quickly transition into a full time role. Within just a few weeks our daughter's speech and excitement to learn blossomed and she has continued to excel at The Learning Cottage. She was speaking incessantly, making friends, and having fun! She (and we) absolutely adore her teachers and their commitment to each child's academic and socioemotional development is obvious. We are so grateful to have been afforded the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful community and don't want to think about what we'll do when it's time to move on!

We recently made the decision to withdraw our child from this daycare after raising concerns about…read morethe quality of care and overall experience. What followed was extremely concerning. Shortly after communicating our decision, a report was made regarding alleged issues involving our household. The matter was reviewed and dismissed immediately with no findings. While we understand that childcare providers are mandated reporters, the timing and handling of this situation were deeply troubling and raised serious concerns about judgment and professionalism. It is also worth noting that the staff member we had raised concerns about was no longer employed at the center within a few weeks of those concerns being brought forward. This experience completely undermined our trust in the center and its leadership. Families should feel confident that concerns will be handled constructively and responsibly unfortunately, that was not our experience here. We strongly encourage other parents to ask detailed questions about how concerns are addressed and escalated before enrolling

From the moment we first visited, we felt a genuine sense of warmth and professionalism from the staff. The teachers are not only kind and attentive, but also incredibly knowledgeable about early childhood development and the Montessori approach. They take the time to understand each child's unique personality and learning style, and it really shows in how Luca is growing. Since starting at Discover Montessori, we've seen so much progress in Luca's language skills, independence, and confidence. He comes home excited to share what he's learned and is always eager to go back the next day--which says a lot! We love how the environment encourages hands-on learning, problem-solving, and collaboration, all while allowing the children to explore at their own pace. The school communicates well with parents and creates a strong sense of community. They send daily pictures and updates and we always feel informed and involved in Luca's day-to-day learning. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing he is in such a nurturing and stimulating environment. We are truly grateful for Discover Montessori and all the teachers (especially teacher Alma) who are helping shape our son's early education in such a positive and meaningful way!

At first glance I loved the school. I loved the big classrooms and combined grades and the fact…read morethat they offered education through high school. But after having my children in the school for a year I was greatly disappointed. The teachers are very sweet especially in lower elementary but I feel like my children learned almost nothing. They complained that the classroom was noisy and it was hard to concentrate. There was zero emphasis on classical literature, somehow, reading "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" qualifies as sufficient for their classroom literature. The kids sat on the floor all day and my children complained that their backs were hurting. Many of the classic Montessori manipulatives were rarely used. There was no music class. Rarely did they do art. My children, even the upper elementary child, never brought home home-work. The Christmas program was honestly the most atrocious thing I have ever seen. The children stood outside in mosquito infested grounds for an hour in shepherds costumes and literally did nothing but stand there as props while the principal and pastor relived their fantasies of being stars and sang all the songs. There was open fire in the torches and straw everywhere. I was on the edge of my seat as children filed closely past the open flame. I just knew any moment the whole stage was going up in flames including baby Jesus, who was a real newborn. I honestly almost stood up and said something in the middle of the show it was so nerve racking. This school needs to put the children's safety before their own desire of having their own personal American Idol for themselves. In that moment, I realized, if this huge issue is an oversight, then what about all the smaller things. I feel like this is a terrible place if you want your kids to get a good education. If you are just wanting somewhere to stick your kids where they learn about the Bible, but education or safety is not a priority, then by all means, spend the $11,000 per student to send them there. I feel like i really got ripped off. I feel like my children are no more educated than they were a year ago, in fact, I feel like they actually regressed.

My 3 y.o. daughter went to Overbook Academy last year, when she was 2 y.o., three times a week for half a day (other options are everyday or even twice a week, which is a nice option to kids who are just starting to be in a social group) and now, every day for half a day, and been loving it. I find that this system is ingenious -- if parents/grandparents/etc. have flexible schedules -- in a way that a child eats lunch at home and naps at home (to me, it's ideal), and then you get to spend another half of a day with your child outdoors/etc. If half-day is not enough, they extended to full day this year, 2025 (until 4 pm).
