Five stars is not enough even in a non-COVID time. The Learning Cottage is a second home to us. We started there in December 2019 when my son was 14 weeks old. During his first week, I planned to visit, breast feed, pick him up early...normal first time mom anxiety relievers. Unfortunately, my father passed away that first week, and each morning I was driving out of town to visit him and family. The biggest blessing was knowing my baby was safe and loved so I could take care of everything else around me. Fast forward to 13 months later, and that is still my overarching experience. He is so safe and so loved. My now toddler will wake up and say "school? shoes?" because he is so excited to go to daycare and see his teachers and friends. They helped me navigate every stage of development (and a pandemic!) with grace, patience, humor, and understanding. Their leadership is the kind of leadership that can only come from caring so, so much and having seen it all and done it all. The owners are former teachers, and you can tell. Words really don't express how much love, education, and support my son gets every day. You can tell because he comes home roaring like a dino, asking for agua and sleeping through the night because he is so worn out from the day (say no more!!). I love seeing him so happy. We receive photos throughout the day, their communication is something to truly admire, and you can seriously tell that everyone who works there is happy, trained, and part of a rock solid team. We joined The Learning Cottage Family in March of 2020, we have been so amazed at how well both of our children have excelled academically & socially. Our son Branson was well prepared for Kindergarten because of what he learned in the pre-k class with Mr. Adam & Ms. Jeanette. Our daughter Raelynn is excited to go to school everyday to see the wonderful teachers and staff at The Learning Cottage, she has formed a loving bond with her teachers, Mr. Adam & Ms. Jeanette, as well as Ms. Kathy, Ms. Sammi, Ms. Kerri, Ms. Aimee & Ms. Ashley. We love the academics, character development and life skills that are taught at The Learning Cottage, we also love the staff and the learning environment that they provide to our children. There is no better feeling in the world then to drop off a happy child anxious to go and pick up one that is energized and excited about the day they have had. Each of the staff members shows daily their caring and loving nature for their job and the children that they attend to. I honestly could go on and on about all of the ways The Learning Cottage is a phenomenal school... but most importantly, I don't have to question what type of care my child is getting. We switched our almost 3-year-old to The Learning Cottage this past summer due to the current pandemic. It was a strange time to change childcare, but we knew it was time for her to be in a classroom environment and not a daycare. The only thing I regret is not finding this school earlier. From the first encounter with the Assistant Director, Kerri, I knew this was where I wanted my child to be. Ms. Kerri greets all the children every morning with open arms and helped make my daughter's transition go as smooth as possible. What initially impressed me the most during my tour was how immaculate the classrooms appeared. I also love that the school utilizes an app so I can see pictures of my child/the class playing and learning each day--these little updates truly make my day. My daughter LOVES her teachers and because of them we have seen so much developmental growth in the 6 months she has been in attendance. The staff truly pours their hearts into these kids and it is so comforting knowing that my child is safe, loved and well taken care of while my Husband and I are at work. Our experience at The Learning Cottage has been amazing. If I could give them +10 stars, I would. They are my son's second family and truly care about the overall well-being of the kids. The kids are not only learning abc, 123... They are learning about history, science, different cultures, languages, values and good manners. And most important, they are learning how to be nice, caring humans, and how to help our community. My son was 3 1/2 years, when my husband and I decided it was time for him to start school. It was going to be his first time at another place different from home, so we wanted to find the right fit. After we toured several schools for a while, and were really sad because we did not find anything that we liked and that was in our "budget", we found the LC and it was our light at the end of the tunnel. My son is thriving and has learned so much. He loves his school, his teachers and his friends. He can't wait to come back to school on Monday. The LC is the best daycare/school in the Sarasota/Bradenton area. And if I have another baby, I would not think twice about where to send him/her. read more

I researched and visited numerous preschools in the area and I wasn't content until I came across the Learning Cottage. I immediately felt welcome upon walking in for my first tour, as if it were my own home. Their approach, Blended Philosophy, is an incredible curriculum that engages little ones, encourages creative thinking and problem solving abilities, and helps even the youngest toddler (like my little girl) develop important linguistic skills. I love that my daughter gets lots of time outdoors, learns manners and spends time interacting with her classmates...her social skills have truly blossomed. She also enjoys 2 organic snacks daily. Only all-natural cleaning products are used to wipe down toys/equipment so she isn't exposed to any harmful chemicals. I chose The Learning Cottage because I wanted my daughter to think above and beyond, appreciate and use all of her creative abilities and feel warm, welcome, and loved. My son has now been at the Learning Cottage for over 2.5 years and my daughter has been there for almost 2 years. We are still in love with everyone there and are so thankful to have such caring and wonderful teachers and directors in Mr. Adam, Ms. Jeanette, Ms. Kathy, Ms. Jenn, Ms. Vicki, Ms. Sami, Ms. Ashley and Ms. Aimee. My children love going to school to see their friends and teachers and I feel comfortable knowing they are in such a warm and happy place. The Learning Cottage has been taking great care of our family since we scheduled our initial virtual tour! Starting your one year old at daycare during a global pandemic is not an easy decision but we knew right after meeting the amazing directors he would be in the best hands. It's easy to see by the awesome photo updates we receive daily, and his happy disposition everyday at pickup, that our kiddo is having a great time there and learning a lot! His class is always engaging in fun and meaningful activities to help his mind grow and explore! We love that they update us daily with the songs, shapes, colors, and sign language they're working on so we can do it at home too! My grandson attended from age 2 to Kindergarten this year. His younger brother also began attending at 2 and is almost 4. The children happily attend, are well supervised, have special programs and are prepared for kindergarten. The Learning Cottage is a very good preschool, which cannot be said of all. My son has been with TLC for just over a year now and I could not be happier with our overall experience there! The staff is amazing and the teachers care for the children like they would their own. I love the daily updates with pictures of his activities and progress. The cleanliness is top notch and they do a really good job at making sure the kids evolve in a safe environment. This place is amazing! The teachers are truly dedicated to each and every child in their care and the directors are clearly passionate about providing a warm, caring, encouraging environment. I am beyind impressed with this school. My newly enrolled 16mo old Loves her new (and first) school. We get multiple pictures and updates daily, especially in her first week, and she is exhausted when I pick her up from all the fun. School has exposed her to the experiences she has been missing out on due to the pandemic, but in a safe and clean environment. This school is just simply amazing! We moved to Florida 3 years ago and were struggling to find a child care center that checked everything off our list.
