The leaders are great and we learn many new songs and motions to songs. It's a great learning tool for the children. There are several play areas where the kids can play with toys, digital pads, Melissa and Doug puzzles, Lakeshore and more. There is a section of board games that one can borrow. It's great as they have many newer games to choose from. I love that I can horror a game for up-to 2 weeks. It's a great way to test a game out to see if we like it or not. There are nice family restrooms with changing tables and a large area to bring a stroller if needed.

Ever since they joined Columbus's ghetto system everything's gone way downhill. This used to be a quality Library now it's just a capitalist garbage Library just like the rest of Franklin county. Just another Library run by tone deaf ignorant people that have more than enough money to pay their bills while everybody beneath them does the grunt work while they stand over them proudly. I sat in on one of the board meetings and the HR lady was bragging about how she saved the library $200,000 by cutting off health care to the library staff. They were given cheap ichra instead. They really don't care about their staff and it shows.

They have a really nice section for teens, which was great to see. The meeting room we used was large and well-appointed for large groups. My only complaint isn't against the library itself, but something to note. Given it's location in a strip mall, both upon arrival and leaving (about 4 hours apart), someone was outside smoking cigarettes and it stunk. Super gross and not a great impression for the library.

There is parking available on a limited basis in an attached garage, of which the entrance is found at the side of the library building. other parking is available on the street and in nearby garages and flat lots. In a world where so much has come to rely upon other forms of infotainment, this building is and remains a temple for print and other forms of reading. One of my favorite features are the holiday displays and events that occur throughout the year. The stunning architecture and exquisite white marble are a fitting tribute to the treasures housed within.

Children are running rapid, climbing over furniture and screaming..... babies having temper, tantrums and adult / staff doing absolutely nothing to correct the issue. Forget about trying to concentrate because that is not happening here. I have been at this location several times, mornings, afternoon and evening, and it's always the same scenario. Even with wax earplugs or EarPods you simply cannot mask the noise level. I've spoken with staff regarding the issue and was told it's normal. After school is out then you're dealing with disrespectful teenagers, sitting around, acting up and being disruptive and claiming all the decent computers just to sit and watch videos or play games. Can't they do this at home so that others can actually utilize the library as it was meant to be used? If the teens have taken up all the adult allowed area ( yes their sections for the age groups ) and there is a free seat elsewhere you NOT allowed to use it unless you have a child with you. If that's not discriminating I don't know what is. Wasted tax dollars at work!!! Would've been cheaper to build a free daycare center elsewhere. While I enjoy the futuristic modern design, the open center is complete wasted space only designed for aesthetic purposes, not useful. And lastly, with all the windows, it is absolutely freezing in the winter time....and yes burning up in the summer. I suggest New Albany library where the youth have respect for their surroundings, unless you're a deadbeat parent needing to pawn your child off on someone else, then the Gahanna library is for you.

I may be biased because I can walk there from my house, but it really has…read moreeverything a neighborhood library needs - books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, internet-accessible computers, and a children's area with books and puzzles. It's nice that it's connected to the Licking county library system, because they can get pretty much anything that you can request. I get several DVDs and blu-rays per month from here and occasionally check out new music as well. We love bringing out daughters here because the kids' area just feels like home. Our daughters get puzzles out, look at books, and check out a lot of books too! We request things all the time to check out and they're very timely at getting them in. In fact, the staff is awesome. So friendly, they feel like neighbors. Check out their special events on select evenings and in the summer, they have children's events on Tuesdays at 11am. They have story hour on weekdays, but for those of us who work during the day, I sure wish they had story hour in the evenings sometimes (they did it once in May). Check this place out if you are a local!
