One of my favorite Libraries! You can park for free for the first hour, or up to the whole day when they have really big events. There is a cute outdoor place to sit and play if you have small kiddos. They have a cafe, 3 floors of books, a huge children's area, and an art gallery! This one is also the host of Local History & Genealogy so they have all kinds of interesting things to learn about, maps, displays, and plenty of staff to ask questions or help you find things. read more

Really nice branch with a huge parking garage, plenty of seating, and lots of copies of popular titles.

The architecture of the building is fantastic. Plenty of natural light and open space. A great study/work spot for adults. They have activities for kids such as reading time. There is also plenty of parking which is a plus. The only downsides, in my opinion, are I wish they had video games to rent, and the kids space is very small compared to other local libraries. read more

The best place to spend evenings. It is always a happening place. Collection is good. Reservation service for books is excellent. It is wonderful to see kids running around excited about books. Staff is very helpful. They have stopped several excellent magazines which is sad. Parking is excellent. read more

This is probably the cleanest and most spacious library I've ever visited. Not that others I've been to aren't clean and spacious, but this one is just remarkably so. I actually came here for a class assignment, for which I needed to briefly interview a librarian. I wish I caught the name of the librarian I spoke to on the first floor, but she was incredibly sweet and helpful, walking me through various resources for the public, teachers, and students. I came for an assignment but left with information I will truly remember and make use of for my whole career. In addition to helpful staff, this library features an abundance of seating and computers, as well as access to a quiet room and teen-only space. I loved seeing a space reserved for only teens, to keep them safe if they're not accompanied by a parent and build community just for youth. It was full of individuals and groups during my weekend visit. There is also a row of kiosks for self-checkout. This library is truly a gem of Dublin and clearly a vibrant place where community gathers. It was honestly inspiring to see as a book lover and future educator. I would absolutely return here and recommend this library to anyone. read more

Columbus Metropolitan Library - Dublin Branch - large manga section! - Libraries Near Me - Dublin, Ohio

I do have a library card, but not for any of the Columbus libraries. LOL I've been in this area before, even walked around the area. But at the time, the library wasn't open because of the pandemic. Now, everyone is back! Lots of parents with kids of all ages. I also saw students studying and adults reading or on laptops. It's not a very big library, but they do have study rooms you can book ahead of time. The upstairs also has lots of sitting areas and tables next to all the windows that have a nice view of the street. Plugs are at each table! Sweet Waters is at the bottoms floor if you want some caffeine! It's a nice library! Not exactly quiet all the time, as I heard a child screaming and crying. It's expected though! Wouldn't mind coming back here to check out books. Parking is pretty easy. There's a parking lot at the back, but there's also a parking garage. Not sure how many levels, but I parked on the second level without much of a problem. It's free too! They do inform over the intercom when they are about to close. We stayed there until they made the announcement! Lots of staff around too. I don't think it would be hard to find help if you needed it! read more

I tend to give libraries five stars in general just for existing, because ... well, libraries are awesome. But this Dublin Branch library gets five stars because it really wowed me and my family. We are not from the area, but we were visiting Dublin and needed a place to rest for a bit and get out of the cold. So we walked into the library to check it out, and it is fabulous. Dublin, you are really lucky! The library is three stories: On the top level is the adult material. The second level houses the children's area. The lower level is where the conference rooms and cafe (Sweetwaters) is located. We didn't spend much time on the top level because my kids wanted to explore the children's department. There are lots of little nooks to curl up in with a book, and computers with games and activities. There is also a huge fish tank with lots of fish to find. The whole children's area is very welcoming and open, and the librarians on staff are very helpful and around if you have any questions. We also visited the cafe area, and got some pastries and coffee to enjoy at the couches located by the cafe. I'm a woman of a certain age, and I still remember when libraries were places were you simply did not eat or drink in! But I love how the Dublin library does it: Let the people have their cake and eat it, too (literally), but provide them with a place in which to do it that's away from the books and materials. I like it. read more

Had an event in the meeting room here. Staff very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Spacious and clean. Great atmosphere to work, study, read. Very bright with floor to ceiling windows. Sweetwater Cafe on the lower level offers a variety of coffee drinks and teas. Nice selection of pastries as well. The building itself is beautiful. Lots if little areas to tuck away to read or study. Story time in the morning draws a hundred kids . The kids area has hands on interactive stations. Love the concept and architecture. read more

What a neat library! Both the interior and exterior are really neat to look at. It has three separate levels, with the adult section on top, the kids section in the middle, and meeting rooms and coffee shop on the bottom. We spent most of our time in the kids section, though we did enjoy looking around the rest of the space. The kids space had a neat aquarium, a fun bus structure to play or read in, and a great seating area with huge windows overlooking the street. Small chairs and tables provide plenty of places for kids to look at books. The librarians were very friendly and helpful too. There is plentiful parking in the nearby parking garage, and the library has a great location right near historic Dublin. read more

What an amazing upgrade! Nice sleek modern building. It has an easier flow with more cozy reading nooks. The parking is a massive improvement! The bicycle parking is a nice plus. There didn't seem to be many check out stations. The reserves area was small and cramped. Other areas are spacious and open. There are a lot of windows providing lots of natural light. read more

I stopped in the see the new spiffy modern library on my way to Trader Joe's one recent Saturday morning. It's nice and new, but it didn't wow me. I remember the former building in the same spot, and I liked it a lot. It seemed cozy and I'm not sure why it was demolished. I actually prefer the Hilliard branch that was new in 2018, or the newly remodeled main to this new build. There is a parking garage next to it, which is nice, but I nabbed a spot in front since it was still early in the day. The main floor has the children's section and a large staircase. There were a couple of librarians at the desk, and I asked them if the adult section was upstairs. They said yes. Honestly, I didn't see any indication of what was upstairs - you can't see anything from the main floor view and there were no visible signs. I strolled around upstairs and was disappointed in the lack of new book displays. There were a few, but not enough (IMHO). I always find something I have to have in the many displays at either aforementioned locations. I ended up not finding anything I wanted to check out, so I left. read more

Stopped in to see the new library. The old one was "my" library for so long, it was an old friend, so I was curious and apprehensive about what they'd do to it. It's gone, but the new one is amazing. Bright, airy, big. Fits well in the "new" Dublin. Big parking garage next door. You walk in to see a few new books, a checkout/help desk, and the kid's area. Upstairs is where the adult books are. Plenty of places to sit, lots of windows, lots of computers. Nice landscaping and seating outside. I'm sure I'll be back. Looks like it is still the heart of downtown Dublin. read more

I come here often to study and I love the quiet respectful environment. Today however, I was struck by the most loudest group. Not to be that person, but I really wish the employees and associates would tell them to quiet down. I couldn't get anything done. I even saw some of the associates talking to them and laughing. All I would like to do is study for my exam. And even with my noise cancellation headphones, this was awfully rude and loud. Again I love this atmosphere and the people working are very nice but I think sometimes it is neccassary to tell people to quiet down or get a private room. People come here to focus and do work; not have a family reunion. This was incredibly disrespectful. read more

Here recently I've found the Dublin Library to be my safe haven for working remotely. I've been working remote for over two years now and sometimes I feel like I'm going crazy being at home all the time. When I decided I needed a switch up I started coming to this library branch. I had only been one or two other times before but knew it was a really nice big open space with plenty of areas to work. I looked into some of the other co office spaces around town, but the best part about the library that kept me coming back is that it's free. They have meeting rooms, private study rooms, tons of seating, computers, and tables everywhere. You can pretty much find a spot anywhere and set up shop. My favorite thing to do is to rent out the private study rooms as it gives me my own space where I feel comfortable taking calls and having meetings. It's super easy to do as you can do it online but I'd recommend reserving a day or so in advance to make sure you get the timeslot that you need. There's always people of all different ages in there for different reasons. The staff is always super friendly and helpful and helps you get your problems resolved quickly. It's a great environment to spend time with family, enjoy some alone time, and the perfect place to be productive and get things done. You should definitely check it out! read more

Wow, I guess it's my turn to write the good review since the Dublin Branch has not been reviewed since two years ago. Located in the Northwest part of Columbus in downtown historic Dublin, resides the Columbus Metropolitan Library: Dublin Branch. Don't be fooled by it being somewhat tucked away at the end of the downtown area because it definitely has a lot to offer. When you arrive inside the library you will receive great customer service and also a good selection of books, CD's, audios from book and DVD collection. The first day I walked into this library I was greeted by an older lady and younger man. They were very helpful with guiding me along the library. Then I decided to give up my Worthington library card because quite frankly, I don't like carrying many cards around my key chain. Therefore, this library provided with a new library card that I got to pick out with a cute design on it. (I know the design thing is so catchy these days). I got my new number and wa-la now I'm a member of the Columbus Metropolitan Libraries! It was that easy, just walk in, give them your information and you have a new shiny card! By no means am I saying if you live clear across town come to this location I'm just suggesting it has a great variety of genres to choose from in the book collection and DVD's as well. I don't find many libraries that have just a section for foreign films and this library does. You still will read the lovely subtitles but at the same time you will feel more knowledgeable about other cultures at the same time. If you want to expand your knowledge or just looking for a great book to read or movie to watch, stop by this library you won't regret it.:) read more

I love the Columbus Metropolitan Libraries. They normally have an awesome selection of books, spaces of patrons to study, and extremely helpful staff! The Dublin Branch definitely lives up to these expectations. I usually use the library as a study space outside of my normal study spots. Thus, this review will be based on my experiences as a studier The Space: The Dublin Branch is a newly built library that has three levels. The design of the building is friendly to all age groups from young children to adults. It is so bright, clean, and open that I promise it will make you excited or happy to study. They have table dedicated to studying across all three floors. I love grabbing a table on the 2nd floor near the windows. The 2nd floor tends to be more quiet. There may be an occasion person who is talking loudly but you can alway ask them nicely to respect the space. The outlet situation is also great. Almost every table is near/has an outlet available for you to use. You can also make a reservation for study rooms online. This option is a good idea if you're a silent study-er. However, the rooms are small. For me personally, I would feel claustrophobic in the windowless rooms. The wifi is okay. It is good for internet browsing and writing papers. I would not recommend coming here if you need to stream lectures or watch videos for your studies/work. The download speed is about ~5. The restrooms are always super clean! No complaints here. :) Services: You can check out books and reserve study rooms. Honestly, I highly recommend getting a library card and downloading the Libby app. This allows you to check out ebooks on your ipad/tablet via CML. Parking: There is a *FREE* garage right next door with plenty of parking. Some of the spots are dedicate to the library which is awesome in the evening when the bustle of downtown dublin starts to pick-up. I wish the downtown location also had free parking, but one can dream! Recommended improvements for CML: - Extended hours on the weekends/evenings - Finish the cafe downstairs!!! :) Literally cannot wait for sweetwaters to open! - Upgrade your wifi! So many people come to the library to access resources like the internet. It would be great if you had a network that could support everyone. read more

Such a cute library with so many things to do for kids and an amazing and helpful staff.

Quiet and has free wifi. I've never checked a book out here but it has been a good place to study. read more

If you are looking for a quiet place to study or get work done, this is not the library. The noise level is very distracting, and ironically, it seems to be the librarians causing it. Talking at full volume to each other while shelving books and making PA announcements! I would recommend going ANYWHERE else if your goal is to concentrate and get work done. read more

Library is great but the employees are rude and off putting. They often congregate together with their lil masks and talk to each other about their cats probably or what kind of plant they're hoping to buy next for their apartment. Or maybe buy more random some books to put on display so they feel "inclusive". They aren't all bad but a couple rotten eggs ruins the batch? read more

The search for my favorite Columbus Library continues... So far the Dublin location is a clear winner! Great location with ample parking which suprised me, seeing it was on High St downtown Dublin I had just started telling my husband that parking was going to be a b*tch when he pulled up in the lot and parked right out front. Great start and the rest did not dissapoint either. For sure the largest of all locations I have yet been to. My son found a ton of great books and movies, I love the self check out. It was full but well spread out, still quiet and pleasant. Great place! read more

The library itself is beautiful and most the staff are amazing. However, if you're a nice down to earth mom taking your child here for story time be advised that 99% of the moms there are stuck up and the woman who runs the pre kindergarten story time needs to learn more about kids. she wasn't very friendly toward my child or most of the other children for that matter. if you don't like kids maybe don't be in charge of pre-k story time. and if you're a mom who attends this, you should also maybe like kids too considering it's focused toward other children besides yours. I will no longer bring my child here for story time, which is a shame because the kids section is great and my toddler really loves story time at other libraries. Long story short I guess is, everyone except story time lady and the moms who attend are LOVELY, the library is beautiful, and if you come here looking to make mom friends, don't waste your time. read more

Unfortunately had a really bad experience here today. The library is set up well for browsing books- not so much for quiet study. Unlike the old Dublin library, there are no tables set up in a designated quite area, so the only options for truly quiet study are through 5 study rooms that must be booked with a library card. These rooms have a 4 hour limit. Today I had a room for four hours and was promptly asked to leave my room for another patron who wanted a study room. Normally I would completely understand this, but at this point 3/5 study rooms were completely open with no further bookings scheduled for the rest of the day. I asked a staff member if I could please use one of the vacant study rooms and she said no (in a fairly harsh tone honestly) because I had reached my limit. I said that I understood and would be more than happy to leave if the rooms became booked, but that I didn't understand why I couldn't use a vacant room-especially because there were three of them. All that she could say was that the four hour limit is "library policy" and wouldn't help me. I also don't understand why they would actively place a new patron in the room that I was using when there were three other empty rooms available. I am sad that I won't be able to rely on the Dublin library for my upcoming exams. read more

I had been waiting for the reopening of the Dublin branch library since the first day of the groundbreaking. Unfortunately I was completely underwhelmed. While the building is impressive, with more space and great natural lighting, it is sterile and uninviting. I visited the prior location at least once a week. Due to the parking garage and use of interior space, I no longer envision being able to drop off returns or pick up reserves very easily. I wonder how often I will use the library services now. I was really hoping for that "wow" moment when I walked in. Instead I was questioning the design, use of space, and ease for the customer/visitor. It reminds me of a combination of a warehouse and airport. read more

We come to this branch often. In fact we hold our Girl Scout meetings here. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Everything is clean including the meeting rooms, rest rooms, and library itself. The Kids section is great! They have so many activities for young children. I used to bring my girls to the Baby Laptime and Toddler Storytime classes. There are a few events for older students and adults from time to time. I keep an eye on the calendar. My kids love their Summer Reading Club activities. We try to go to as many as we can. Overall the Dublin branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library is great! We love the location and there is ample parking. read more

The library is beautiful. Nicely organized, lots of natural light, plenty of space to read, work, etc. BUT.. it is atrociously LOUD. Not loud as in a conversation between 2 people nearby, loud as in kids SCREAMING from the top of their lungs! And no one from the staff said anything to the parent. I am all for kids learning the value of books at an early age, but shouldn't they also learn to respect other people's space? Unfortunately it was not just a random occurrence; I spent 3 hours at the library and during the entire time at least 3 different children were melting down, screaming or crying loudly. Love the facilities, not the ambiance. read more

I meandered over to Dublin today and decided to give their library a look. I have been here about 2-3 times before so I had a general idea where everything lay. The pros about the place are their placement of new books and how they highlight each genre. They also have windows letting in plenty of natural light and some benches to sit on outside as well as some nice places to sit and work inside. The location is great since you can walk around the old Dublin area and get Ice Cream, coffee, sushi, or cupcakes in the vicinity. It is also convenient located near elementary schools. The cons are their DVD set-up. They set it up in small turning kiosks that are too close to each other where you can bump into other customers and get in each others way. read more

A wonderful book selection. Went here with my son, looking for "learn to read" books and the librarian was so helpful pointing us to books he may like and explained the 1, 2, 3 step books. We make sure to stop by about once a week. read more

The facility as in the building, are great. The policies and employees, not so much. No I'm not a "Karen" but I'm sure I can save a mom from a headache. If you have children that want to go, read a book aloud, explore, and God forbid play a little, this IS NOT the library to go to. I have a 2 and 7 year old. My 2 year old loves to run because of the wide open space. But "it's policy" to not even run a couple steps. I took his shoes off and took him to the corner where the windows and story time are so his feet would be quieter if he was to run a little bit. Nope, it's policy to have shoes on. Oh my word, impossible. I have to talk myself into coming here, it's close to my house but I DO NOT recommend it to people and friends I actually encourage them not to go. The employees might just be doing their job but it's Rediculous. I'm aware libraries are not playgrounds and we don't treat them as such. There's a couple workers that are so hard on the kids it takes everything in me to not leave EVERY time I'm there. Ones name is Lauren and I didn't catch the other one. read more

I love this branch. Yes, it is the branch that is closest to me so it gets points for that. However, the staff is unfailingly helpful and nice. They always look like they are enjoying what they are doing. The building is nicely laid out and the plethora of windows makes it feel bright and airy even when it's dreary outside. They also have a bunch of self-checkout stations so there's rarely any waiting when you're ready to check out. There is a great assortment of seating scattered throughout the branch so if you want to hang out for awhile, you can find a nook and read until closing time. read more

Although there is no seating the place has a lot of books and the people that work there are really nice and patient

This is one of the coolest library I've ever been to before. The kids area has multiple reading nooks and there's a few even incorporated into the wall on the second floor that overlooks the first floor and you could see a lot of outside because it's just a glass wall. Are used to go to this library when I was a little girl and they even kept the walls of the original building as an art structure out front which I thought was really neat! The reconstructed building is so neat though! It is big and bright but also calm and serene like you want in the library. There are a lot of stairs to continue to see the rest of the building but they also of course have public elevators. The lady at the front desk helped my mom and I get signed up with the new system pretty quickly and we were able to go upstairs and search the types of books that we were interested in, write down the call numbers and go locate them in the bookshelves. Sometimes people feel overwhelmed doing something like that, I know my mom was at first. Are used to help out in the library in middle school and high school so I wasn't intimidated at all. So I just showed her how to locate them and read the call number and we were in and out of there within 30 minutes with at least 20 bucks on recipes for healthier eating. We were on our way to take them to Riverside Hospital or my dad was getting a quadruple bypass and we wanted to learn how to be more healthy and encourage him and ourselves to be better. This simple trip has made so many different changes in our lives already and we have learned so much. You can put absolutely any book on hold in the Columbus metropolitan library system and whenever it becomes available you can either choose to go pick it up where it is returned or you can get it shipped to the closest library location to you. I thought that was really cool and neat way of making sure that somebody can get that media no matter what. Once you check a book or any type of media out, it automatically renews without you having to renew it past however many days you're allowed to have it. We still have one or two of the books and we did this about eight months ago. I know that that's probably frowned upon but we are still using them. There is a drop box for anything you want to return that is easily accessible in the parking garage out front. The parking garage looks like an art installation in itself and is very spacious. It's not just for the library as well but also surrounding businesses and there's quite a few restaurants that have popped up around there ever since they put up that new bridge. This really is a cool area and I'm glad that they are rehabbing it and trying to get more foot traffic. read more

SHORT REVIEW: Request your books online and go pick-up. Also great place to look at the displays which draw you in and make you want to read each book! Friendly staff...the best! I have been going to this branch since I moved down here 14 years ago. I love the fact that I can fun in and out quickly. Parking can sometimes look bad, but I have always been able to find a space. I usually search for books online and then go in and pick them up. I love this feature since I hate to go in and try and find a book I want. I can get in and out in less than 5 minutes. LOVE IT! On those few occasions I have attempted to do so, the staff has been very helpful in find the book. If they cannot locate the book (i.e it is checked-out), they are quick to suggest a book or another author. I have also found the way the staff displays books to be very enticing. It makes me want to read each and every book. I cannot read that many books...without receiving a lot of overdue fees. :) Which brings me to paying for fees. I like to do so online but if you need to go inside to pay, there is no judging. I don't think I can do the branch justice. If you have not checked it out, try it. read more

Definitely the worst access to the restrooms for wheelchairs in the Columbus area that I have found, including private businesses. The access to the door is "Z" shaped, one stall, and I need to take the handles off the wheelchair just to close the stall door. The buttons to operate the automatic handicapped doors are very small and very difficult to find. The doors are often not working as well, but this is usually true at other libraries as well. For a town as big as Dublin, this library is pretty small. If I have the time, I go to Nortwest or Hilliard. read more

The outside, grounds and parking of the new Dublin library are great, but the inside is sterile and boring. It's basically a big, white warehouse. There are not enough seats, tables or rooms to study in. It seems like the money was well spent on the outside, but not much on the inside. read more

I love the Columbus library system. The system is large enough that it has most every book--and tons of DVDs--and reserves are so easy: just find it online, and when it's ready (and they've brought it to your local library for you), you'll get an email. Then just swing by, grab your books off the reserve shelves, do a quick self-checkout, and you're gone. In and out in five minutes with no need to talk to anyone. If you do want to spend more time, this library has plenty to offer for that too. With plenty of tables, comfy chairs, and reading rooms, the Dublin library is great for leisure reading or research. Large windows look out on well-kept gardens, offering a peaceful and quiet place to work or relax. The stacks are the right size for browsing (with catalog-search computers at the end of each row); there's a big room with public computers in back; and the couple of times I've needed assistance, the staff has been very courteous and helpful. It's all I could want from my community library. read more
