I'm a local who just so happens to love Korean food and realized this opened up down the road from me. Had to give a good try for lunch. So happy I did! It's a hidden gem! Sun Woo Cafe is clearly a family owned business with a lot of love in it. Even though I was only picking up, I was greeted with a smile and greeting by the owners. My order was a Bibimbap Rice Bowl and Bulgogi Kimbap, and sides of kimchi, pickled radish, and miso soup were included for free. The inside is cute enough for a dinner date, I will definitely be returning with my boyfriend for dinner inside sometime. Everything was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and clearly homemade and authentic as I could taste the delicious love put into it. I'm a bit of a bibimbap connoisseur and lover. The Bibimbap dish is meatless with a bunch of egg and veg covering rice, absolutely delicious. I mixed in the kimchi and the gochujang (mild spicy sauce included in my takeout bag) and it was perfect. So delicious and fresh. Nice portions! Next time I will have to try the bulgogi rice bowl. (Update: I did and it's now my go-to favorite!) The Bulgogi Kimbap was also amazing, and I was impressed with how much came with my order. You could order this alone for lunch and be happy! Make sure to mix with kimchi and the spicy sauce. I will definitely be coming back for more and I'm confident that everything that is done here is done incredibly well and authentically. Small restaurant run by an elderly couple. The authenticity is there in the dishes. The rice bowl and dumplings were good. It is on the pricier side. We went during warmer weather and the restaurant was very warm inside so that wasn't as pleasant. read more

I removed 2 stars because their prices are expensive for a casual cafe-style restaurant. Soon dubu stews are my favorite Korean dish, and theirs cost as much as the ones at high-end Korean restaurants in South Jersey, like Dolsot House. I'd rather get it at Dolsot House where it's really good, and for the same price. However....Sun Woo Cafe wins with their delicious mandoo (dumplings) because it is home-made! And you can tell! We live very close by this place and saw it when it first opened. It's a very cute mom and pop restaurant. Every time we come here, we created with so much happiness and love. Food comes out pretty quick and it's delicious! Each time we come here, they always give us something additional on top of what we've ordered just because they're so welcoming. My wife and kids tried to eat there. The restaurant only had 2 families there and didn't look busy. My wife sat at the table and waited for 5 mins for someone to come but no one came. She noticed the older waiter was talking to someone and tried to get his attention by standing up and waited patiently at the counter. The waiter talked with a person for 2-3 more mins and walked the person who he was talking to out the door, but didn't acknowledge my wife. He went back into the restaurant and avoided passing my wife to get to the back kitchen area. He didn't acknowledge my wife as he walked back to the kitchen area. My wife sat down and about 3-4 mins later at the table, but no one came and then they left the restaurant. Before the restaurant officially open my kids saw the place and they were hungry, so we went in. We were met by and older woman that was part of the restaurant. She greeted us but said the restaurant is not open yet, gave us snacks and told us to come back some time later. We wanted to like the place and try the food because of the lady, but when my wife came there, the elderly man didn't acknowledge my wife and family when they went there. My wife and kids ate next door at the sushi restaurant where they were immediately greeted and took care of them. That was my families experience. Some positives...nice people Prices are fair But The dishes I had were bland. Scallion Pancake - A bit oily, very soft. Too soft, almost a mushy texture. It was off-putting. The dipping sauce was also very bland. The Bugolgi was just a miss--flavorless food. Even putting on some sauce, which was in a squeeze bottle, didn't help it. The amount of Protein was also on the light side. I thought all Korean Food was very seasoned, but this experience didn't meet expectations. read more
