Unfortunately I have had really bad experiences at this Salon. I actually just left there for the last time and decided to yelp it. I received a promo when I first moved here about visiting each bed for free so a friend and I tried it. Over the past year each time I try to go tan they are very rude and stuck up and would only charge me full price to put me in a bed for half the time, regardless of it being summer time or me already having a base tan from tanning else where. I received a mail coupon for "buy 1 visit receive 4 free visits", I am going to Hawaii soon, so I thought good deal. Coupon expires March 31. They inform me that I cannot use the coupon until April because a year ago I already did a 'tour' of the beds. The manager was super rude, would not extend any type of reworking of the deal, she told me that it was to keep people from overusing coupons. Which, I have used one ONCE a year ago. Being that this current coupon expires 3/31 and I cannot do another tour until 4/1 THEY WOULDN'T help me out. To me, that is bad customer service, I bet if she called her boss or whoever the powers that be are, they would let it slide. I felt really small standing there, I am not a person that abuses systems and that was clear by my account. read more

I believe her name is Ashley I'm not sure -but she was expecting at the time which is understandable to be a little edgy -this was several months back. I have 2 kids of my own so I was trying to give her grace but she pushed sales on me so bad along with a younger girl brown hair and freckles(who originally sold me the membership saying my spray tan would last soooo long if I get the 40.00 a month membership because it has an extra sealant at the end that sprays you to lock in your tan) which I tried it and loved it! But then get bombarded by Ashley the next time I come into tan saying I need to buy the lotions to help make the tan last longer ! She went ON and ON! She pushed this on me for 35 min ! There was line behind me! I told her I wasn't interested at least 7 times! My husband and kids were in the car waiting for me! This is sometimes the only me time I get lol this my husband even spending 40.00 a month on my tanning membership! I get to take my time and relax while getting pampered. But it turned into a place I now I get stressed just walking through the door! The sad part is Ashley acted like she was trying to be friendly with me and was throwing jabs in between to get me to buy these products, the longest conversation of my life! I pay monthly all I want to do is go in and tan. Her sales tactic was also very contradictory from the reason I bought the spray tan it's suppose to last long without these products! I'm very disappointed in the customer service! They are just trying to make that extra dollar! They are sales sharks! Then Ashley battered me for the flip flops, saying you must wear and even asked me to check my purse and show her I have them before I tanned , they were in my purse but I didn't like how she made me feel I made up they were in my car and never came back! I just went home! I felt so interrogated! I am a stay at home mom and this is my time to relax . I was telling her and don't mind coming a couple times a week, I enjoy the quiet lol I don't want to buy products to extend the tan that supposedly is suppose to last awhile anyway! I was so upset I told my husband was nearly in tears! All Ashley cared about was a sale it was unbelievable . She is the manager at the New Bern location. She also trained her sales girl the same as her! Her sales girl brown hair early 20's and freckles was begging me to buy a face product as well the whole time chiming in that she literally didn't wash her face she had yesterdays make up on from it! I was like that is gross, no thank you! It came off as very desperate! I called the location when I got home hoping to get the person abover her information and said she's not able to give me that information. She was very passive aggressive over the phone as well. Finally I received a call a week later Morgan was her name called me back . I called her back and emailed her as well right away and never one call back. What a joke! I am not happy at all being in sales the last 15 years these couple ladies are not genuine and not a good representation of the company. read more

I have gone here twice to buy a package and use a promo code that I was given by a patron of theirs. Both times I found the clerks to be extremely rude. In fact, one of them said the "free" session that I was using the promo code for couldn't be used because it wasn't signed and dated by the girl who gave it to me. Really? Why not sign it yourself. Would she recognized the person's signature? I wouldn't tan here if it were the only tanning place in New Bern. I'm certain you will see their doors close in the future if they don't get better employees. I would have bought a package had she not come off so flippant. I would rather tan where customers are a priority. In this place, they just want your money and once you're sucked into a "contract," they don't give two cents about you. Follow up: In all fairness to this new company, I decided to try the Havelock branch thinking it might just be the personalities in New Bern. I was wrong. I had the promo card signed by the girl who gave me the card - she thought it was ludicrous the store would require such a thing and told me Havelock was much better. So after work, I took the card and went to the Havelock branch with higher expectations. When I arrived, I was told the promo card is not valid because the store in New Bern had entered me into the system and I had to be a "new customer." I explained to her what had happened and that New Bern never mentioned that. She took the card and kept it and asked me if I wanted to purchase a tanning package anyway. Are you kidding? I can't test out your beds or find anyone willing to give just a little for a customer who has never tanned there but was considering which package I wanted but liked the idea of testing the beds. That clearly wasn't going to happen at either store. I work on the base and am a permanent resident of New Bern. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone in either location. I deal with enough "red tape" in my life; I shouldn't need to cut through more just so I can test out the tanning beds. Spend your hard-earned dollars elsewhere. read more

The staff is nice and friendly and my only issue has nothing to do with the customer service part of the business. My issue is with the spray tanning system. This is a spray tan that is supposed to last 5-7 days but it simply doesn't. I exfoliate before tanning and moisturize once daily after the spray tan just as one should, but these spray tans have never lasted more than two days for me. After the spray tan, I soon find my hands and legs looking like Colby Jack cheese-orange in places and white in others. I know all the tricks of maintaining a spray tan seeing as I have been doing so for years, but the Versapro tanning booth does not work for me. read more
