03/11/2026 Dropped off my car @ 12:56 pm for a one o'clock oil change @ the sun city west location on Camino. I went to pickup my car @ 3:50pm and it wasn't ready yet. Finally they finished with it and I paid and left @ 4:16pm. Three hours and twenty minutes total time they had my car! Rotate the tires and top off fluids included in the price. Judging by the low antifreeze reservoir level, it makes me wonder what else wasn't done. read more

I came here for a tire, rotation and oil change, and I asked them to check my air conditioner because it was blowing warm air. I picked up my car a couple hours later, and they informed me that the newer civics just had very bad air conditioning, and it was just fine. I made an appointment with the dealership the next day where I found out my compressor had went out in my AC.. I don't know if they even checked my air conditioning unit at all or if they are able to check it, but do not bring your vehicle here for your air-conditioning. read more

I have been using sun devil for about 15 years. I didn't know they sold the place a few years back. I haven't needed any car repair in awhile. But took my car their and was told it's 175 bucks to do a diagnostic on it? Not even my dealership charges that much. Then I was given a super high bill to fix the problem. Went there for an oil change last wed. Drove 1 mile, and car started to smoke due to a defective oil filter. It would seem that they would of test drove and ran my engine before returning it to me. Swindlers and abusers of the elderly. I had a battery change and they messed up the fuel gauge dial. They said it was a defect of the make and model of the car but would fix it for a few hundred dollars since it would mean cracking open the dash. They caused the problem but made no effort to claim responsibility. I was with my 80-year-old mother and she was getting barraged with excuses, blame and "you don't understand". At one point the rep who was frustrated with arguing about it exploded at her and started huffing about. With his shirt, 2 sizes to small, was starting to roid rage about. The situation got quite explosive as the manager did nothing to calm him down or make him apologize. This all began with a battery replacement that was purchased a year and a half earlier from them that had a full warranty. They replaced it with a new battery but the scam is the $80 replacement/labor charge. Quite the racket. This was Sun Devil Auto in Sun City West. read more

Took new (to me car) to get windows tinted back in June. Sort of expensive compared to other places. But. This place was super convenient. Shuttle driver very nice and I appreciate that. However. The tint job was substandard. In fact, the worst tint I've ever had on any of my vehicles. The top edges are cut back, which is amateur, the bottom edges are above the interior window seals, and one window has a lifted bottom corner that will ultimately peel the tint off. Normally I'd shrug it off and deal with the "lifetime guarantee" when it becomes an issue. But... Before I left I had 3 different people giving me scare tactics "advise" about my car. In particular, a manufacturers recommended maintenance that according to the manufacturer is to be done at the 100,000 mile mark. (Timing belt). According to these guys it's every 50 to 60k. (Because Arizona). And if I was driving and the belt broke, I'd have destroyed the engine. Their quote? $1,000. So. I called the dealership where the car was originally purchased and maintained and they verified that I have the original timing belt. But... according to the dealership it's a maintenance item to be done at 100,000 miles. Even in Arizona. Not 50,000. AND! That if it breaks then I'll lose power, the engine will shut down, and it won't restart. Destroyed? Maybe 1 in 10. And the best part... the dealerships quote? $800. So... I would give 2 stars for the tint. But the scare tactics cost them a star. By the way. The owners response posted below is a complete lie. Nobody from sun devil ever tried to contact me about any of this. No phone call. No text. Not even an email. And that should tell you everything you need to know about this place. read more

I'd been having my oil changed at Sun devil for quite some time, and I've always been pleased. But the old manager has left and the new manager does not offer the same service. I just wanted my oil changed and they had to remove the splash guard. I left the shop and it fell off within five minutes. I took it back and they put it on again, and it fell off a second time. back a third time and asked to speak with the manager. He said "can't do anything for you ". I have been going to this facility for over two years and had been pleased with the service provided, until my visit on 10/6/23. I had my tires rotated and approximately one mile from the shop, my rear tire came off my truck. The vehicle had to be towed and was determined that the mechanic had only had tightened and not used a torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts. fortunately no one was injured! I understand and people make mistakes, but this is a very important procedure and protocol obviously was not followed. During my visit I was advised that I needed to have my brakes replaced, air filter changed and a malfunctioning issue with the wiper blades. Considering I just had all my brake pads replaced as well as my air filter less than 6 months ago, I knew that this was nothing but a ploy to do unnecessary work on my vehicle. The alleged "problem" with the windshield wiper, showed no signs of any malfunction. Many years ago, I used to do much of my own automotive repairs, so have knowledge of "what's going on" and do not like to be lied to. I did take my truck to another independent automotive repair shop and as I expected, was told that there was nothing wrong with any of the above mentioned necessary services. I discussed my concerns with Matt, who was very apologetic and understanding and was advised that the mechanic who did the above was terminated. I discussed the situation with one of my neighbors, who said she also experienced "issues" with them and would never return for services. My car needed an oil change. I called and scheduled bit. gave them my name and phone number. I arrived at my appointment time. I was told they were short-handed and it would be an hour and a half before they could get to my car. I asked why the did not call me. He said they had been crazy busy. I decided to give them another change and rescheduled for a few days later. I came in and was told they were once again short- staffed and it would be at least an hour and a half before they could get to my car. He said they had been too busy to call me. I told them I would take my business some where else. I went down the str to Sun City Tire and Auto. They were very professional and did a nice job. DON'T GO TO SUN DEVIL ANY LONGER!! We have been going there for about 3 years. My wife's car requires Dexo's oil and cost has been $41.00 dollars. My car requires semi-synthethic and cost about $30.00. My wife brought her car in last week. When it was ready she was handed a bill for $75.00!! They told her sorry but prices have gone up. Then when she started to write a check, they told her that they don't take checks any more. So she paid cash. When she she got home and showed me the bill, they charged her for full synthetic oil and not Dexos. Now they're still advertising their $28 oil change. If prices went up, or if you're using more expensive oil, it should have been disclosed before they put it in someone's car. We won't be back or recommend them any longer. read more

Sun Devil Auto exceeded my expectations yesterday. I had an oil change scheduled with Pep Boys and they called to cancel an hour before I had the appointment. Since we took a couple hours off work to make the appointment, I wanted to get the service done that same day. After calling around, Sun Devil Auto offered to do it same day for me if I was able to drop off the car. George was phenomenal and ensured it was done just in time for me to make it to my last meeting. Every employee I spoke with was very welcoming and kind. I definitely will be back. I took my 2017 Toyota in for an oil change and tire rotation, i had it written down what i wanted. On being presented the bill it showed I had been charged $179.90 +/- extra for fuel system service. My car had 22801 miles on it. I had not requested this item and it did not show on the repair sheet that I had signed. This was taken off. Earlier this year, after being quoted $57 or so for an oil change, I took my Toyota in but was told the price had gone up because of Covid. It was now $73 +. As I was going away, I said OK. Less than a week later a flyer comes in the mail advertising an oil change and tire rotation for $49+/-. This morning i got another flyer in the mail for the same thing. We had new tires put on and one developed a bubble on the side. Took it in and they replaced it but charged us for mounting, balancing and alignment even though we already payed that when the original tire was put on. It's not our fault the tire failed and they should not charge to replace it, they should get that from the manufacturer. We've never had to do that before. This has been my go to auto repair shop for many years. They always took great care of my mothers car. Today when I called about my dead battery that was under warranty they were unwilling to work with me. I explained I couldn't afford a tow ( since I already paid to have a tow truck jump the car only to find out the battery was shot) I asked if I could bring the battery in and get a replacement ( since it is under warranty ) I was told that was not possible. When I last had the car serviced and spent $900 they sent a car to pick me up when the work was completed. I asked if we could use that service. I was told that wasn't an option. I was told they are under new management. When I said that policy was BS I was hung up on. What a great way to run a business!! This obviously is a management I do not want to work with. I had a bad experience today. Took car in for battery exchange. Waited for over an hour. Asked if they were working on it. Almost done I was told. Waiting another 20 minutes. I could see no one working on it. Finally got someone to do the simple job. This was the second time I came with this problem. Finally got the battery. Then they screwed up the paperwork. Made for wrong car. They didn't even apologize for the screw up. Battery had a five year guarantee. Lasted one year. Poor customer service. read more

AC still does not blow cold. Sun Devil Auto blew up a brand new OEM compressor and the fan as car over heated while they were working on it. A 2nd brand new OEM compressor was installed and then they needed to replace a working condenser which was damaged when the compressor blew up...2013 Kia with less than 39,000 miles. Car was kept overnight so they had plenty of time to correct these issues. An adjustment was made for their labor of $152.32 but customer still paid $900.00+ for unsatisfactory work. Will be seeking an inspection of this vehicle from a reputable service shop and seek appropriate restitution from Sun Devil Auto. read more

I had the BEST auto experience ever here. I called and had an appointment ready the next day. You can even drop your car off earlier than your appointment. The dealership I went to before (ford surprise) wanted to charge me DOUBLE for the same job I got from here. I'm not joking... They fixed my car in three hours (got the parts & everything same day) and had it ready for me by 1pm and I dropped it off at 9am. Which is amazing compared to the time dealerships take to fix things. Nick was SO helpful and explained everything in detail. He made it so easy for me. I went to this store and talked to a man named bo, he was a nice guy and I rate his customer service a 10 (I wasn't in the friendliest of moods but he still acted professional) . However whomever worked on my car put different size lug nuts on the right side of my car. And they also went the extra mile to make the lug nuts so tight on my car that even a tire shop couldn't get them off. Also they even went as far as to jack my car up, my car is stuttering. I have a family member who does cars, so my car was in amazing condition, but when I give the car to them suddenly things start to act strange? This was not worth $197 Dollars. When I contacted bo about this he immediately stated just how impossible my calm was................ but admitted to over tightening the lug nuts........what makes you think for one second trust that you didn't jack my car up if you admitted to over tightening my "suddenly" mismatched lug nuts, he kept saying I should have came back so they could fix it????? for what? So I could have something else come up about my car? Also said that they never mismatched my brand new lug nuts with different ones; solely on the right hand side which is were the serpentine belt was which was the only side of my car that they touched???? I told him that his reasoning to just believe his word was certainly not enough. He kept placing the blame everywhere saying it was everyone else's fault. Honestly I'm so upset about this experience I don't even know what to say. This was the absolute worst experience, I want my money back. read more

Buyer Beware!!! Had AAA tow my vehicle to them (right... because their a AAA approved shop)...almost had to beg for a repair price quote from an attendant hiding in his cubical office. The white shirt had ZERO enthusiasm to HELP and I suggested I would not just leave my auto for repair with-out prior approval of cost...to his dismay. The AAA Tow Truck drive witnessed the White Shirts attitude and said "come-on...you will never get service here". Today, I had a warning light come on and I took it in. They ran a diagnostic and the coolant in the Hybrid was low. They filled it and that took care of the problem. Brought my car in for an Air Conditioning leak. When I received my car back the mechanic had left a great deal of damage inside my car. Also, they did not properly repair my vehicle. My air conditioner did not work at the same power it did before their "repair" on my air conditioner and heating core. While driving with my 3 year old to California, I noticed there was water on the floor of my car. I immediately contacted them for the 3rd time since the repair. I was told to turn off my air when driving back. It was 120 degrees in Blythe when my car was floor was flooding and overheating. I had to have my car towed $241 to a place in Blythe, plus ha to pay an additional $160 for a ride-share to get back to AZ to catch my flight (that was missed) for my nephews funeral. They claimed that they fired the Mechanic. I was told to submit all of my receipts for the other repairs I incurred by Michael, the area manager. It's been close to a week and I have not hear back from Michael. They detailed the car that the mechanic dirtied and damaged. Yet things like control buttons, review camera and the outstanding money due to their negligence is outstanding. I have yet to hear from Michael. When asked who does Michael report to, I was told they couldn't escalate it until Area Manager addressed it. Yet in the beginning of the conversation I was told that Michael said the issues were resolved at the store level. Integrity is something Michael mentioned at the beginning of this event, but this has something has yet come to fruition. To add to all of this their courtesy driver said to me, "All Black people should learn and listen to Larry Fitzgerald on how to act and talk..." read more

I took my car in because the air conditioner was not blowing cold. They did not know how much freon was required to service the system so I provided them with that information. They called the next day to say the car was serviced, blowing cold, and there were no leaks. I picked the car up and it was working well. As for no leaks, they apparently didn't look very hard because the very next day, there was no freon in the system. I took the car elsewhere where the leaking line was replaced and the system functions well. Obviously, I will not be a repeat customer and will spread the word. read more

I had my car's oil changed at another local shop a couple weeks ago. Today I went out to my garage and saw a puddle of oil and visible drip from under the motor. The other shop was not open on Saturday so I went to Sun Devil Auto in Sun City West just to see if they could identify the leak and tell me it was okay to wait until I could return to the other shop on Monday. They said they would take a look and immediately found that the oil filter wasn't even tightened much less as snug as it should be. They took the time to properly tighten the filter, clean all the leaked oil from the filter, pan and shield and check the oil level. When I was ready to go they said there was no charge! I think I found a new auto repair shop for my car. read more

Called in to ask why they didn't fill all fluids after I specifically asked when I dropped it off and made sure to ask when I picked it up, because I'm supposed to be leaving on a road trip in the morning, which is Sunday, no answer and it was 4:45 they close at 5! The quote they gave me first was $589 for front breaks and rotors, when I told them I was going to call my mechanic in Las Vegas he then said he found some other parts for $479. They offered me a ride away from there, but when I told them my mechanic said that he could do it for half of that, they did not offer me a ride back to my car. I asked for the quote, but when I drove off realized it was not there and had to call and get a very irritated "ok I'll get that ready" now I wish I would've checked the fluids before I left, because clearly this wasn't done, nor did he check like he insisted he did when I picked it up.
