Even if you're like me (read: you're not a good swimmer and you've never been kayaking), you'll have a great time and get the hang of things pretty quickly. Besides, there is no better way to escape the heat of Columbia in the summer than taking a ride down the Congaree River. It was a manageable waterway that's suitable for first-timers and enjoyable for all, and Kevin was incredibly attentive, patient, and encouraging throughout the ride down. Everything is provided for you -- kayaks, paddles, life vests, and even bottled water. Just remember to dress light (shorts and a tee) and bring sandals (preferably, because sneakers will take several days to dry out) that you don't mind getting wet. If you've never been kayaking -- definitely give this a try. It's $35 well spent!

We had an absolutely wonderful time exploring the islands (and finding the tiny cemetery!) and docking right on the water to eat outside at a local restaurant. This pontoon boat was great - so clean and pretty! Ryan and Shannon were extremely professional, thorough, and easy to communicate with. The 2 extra "fun" items were such a great bonus - my kids LOVED the tube - and the customer service was beyond excellent. They literally delivered and picked up the pontoon boat right from the dock of our rental house. Would highly recommend this new company!

After researching slip costs, taxes, and assuming a general maintenance schedule, it was going to be a considerable investment. Insert lake Murray boat club, and we actually get more for less. The boats are brand new and PLUSH, I believe the luxury Tritoons actually have some kind of padding under the flooring (not the kind of boats I grew up on for sure). The entire experience the club itself provides is also stellar. The dock team is super polite and makes you feel like some richy rich yacht owner with the way they walk you to your boat, help you set up, and push you off. When returning, you literally gas up, dock, and leave (they cap the boats, etc.). Couldn't recommend this experience more if you are looking to get out on the lake but don't have your own dock!

As we kayaked on Cedar Creek our guide knowingly spoke about the history of the Congaree River and it's feeder waterways as well as the history of the park. Pointing out wildlife from mud bugs to woodpeckers and exciting encounter with a trio of beavers as well as a discovering of a water moccasin in a tree stump. The pace of the trip was leisurely and focused on the zen of Cedar Creek. We came away more knowledgeable and appreciative of the nature of Congaree Park and all it can offer.

Even though it was the weekend it was not too crowded. Parking is a bit tricky. Unless you have a reservation, you have to let them scan a QR code to your phone, and provide an email address so they can send a link to a payment portal. All of this pretty cumbersome, and the time it takes means that cars get backed up at the entrance. Add extra time for confusion if older people are trying to figure this out! Best to prepare by either having a digital native ready to take charge, or pay in advance. After all this is sorted, parking is easy and you can relax and have fun.

Staff were courteous, professional and knowledgeable. We live in Chapin but opted to make the 40 minute drive to this rental agency due to higher quality boats available, prices were much more reasonable, plenty of inventory available.
