I am not sure who is who at this office. Dr. Gunter or another Dr. Gunter . Dr. Gunter Jr ? Any how this would be my first time seeing this dr gunter . It was apparent after the "dr" examine my skin , at first he was hesitate about his response to the large white circular tag on my lower leg. Right away he stated he was going to rule out "a topic dermatitis autoimmune" and I ask him to repeat what he said because I made notes in my phone. Dr. stated this is more like Vitiligo. Dr. prescribed me a cream. A very greasy one. After using all the cream as directed by the doctor. I went in for my follow up appt. I express to the doctor the cream was very greasy and it don't seem to be helping , he asked if I wanted another cream. But before I answered back I starred him in his eyes , something was off, this doctor refuse to take the next step as he should have but he did not, I remember vividly dr gunter just seating in the chair lost in space . He told me there was nothing else he could do. Let me remind you this was a f/u appt after 1-approach. Are you kidding me. Wow. This dr Gunter clearly stated to me his (nurse present) a topic dermatitis autoimmune" this was a serious statement for him to turn me away without testing or biopsies of any kind. Huge mistake. It took me having a conversation with my medical provider how I just went to see the dermatologist about this circular white patch on my leg. Well , my medical doctor looked at me and said "lets get a biopsy and lets see " He numb the area, cut a piece of skin . The diagnosis : Dermal Fibroses this is an autoimmune disease. a few things; 1. Dr Gunter is an incompetent doctor , lazy . 2. Dr. Gunter don't give a damm about his patients 3. Dr. Gunter wants to avoid the severe situations 4. Dr. Gunter fits the description of a doctor of health disparities. 5. Dr. Gunter leaves his patients in despair trying to get answers instead of giving a useful diagnosis. I could not believe he allowed (me) the patient to walk out that door, when initially he called it but fail to follow through with me. I am highly disappointed, and was upset. I never wrote a Yelp review in my life , but this time my review may save some one else's life, Dermatologist specializes in skin diseases, and not just some darn Botox injections. Im Impressed with the service, professionalism, the dermatologists knowledge. My son and I have made great improvements with getting rid of the acne. I've had three visits to Dr. Gunter's office and had a great experience each and every time. I've had my face checked and two moles removed, non cancerous and scaring no bigger than the moles removed. Dr. Gunter is very knowledgable, with a great bed side manner as he answered all my questions and concerns and never once rushed through my appointment. His staff and assistants are also friendly and experienced. I have read some of the reviews and not sure why there are so many complaints about the wait time. I have never been to any doctor or dentist and waited less than an hour to be seen, especially here in the AV. I also take my mom to her appointments weekly out here in the AV and whether it is her primary or her back doctor your looking at an hour to two and a half hour wait time. I just went to my new appointment at this dermatologist office in Bishop California and waited 50 minutes for my appointment I took off work to show up at this appointment and after 50 minutes I couldn't believe that I waited that long but I had leave I'm not sure why this would be acceptable with this doctor but it's not acceptable with me sure it's a small town but I'm paying for this service this isn't a free service is it ? I unfortunately stumbled across the rest of these reviews during the hour I waited for the doctor. Don't get me wrong, he was a really nice guy, but definitely had a rushed demeanor while dealing with my mother and I. My biggest issue is that I went to have a mole checked out, he said I had to get it removed, but he and his office refused to give me the exact details of the procedure I was going to receive as well as how much it was going to cost me. I understood that their office had a separate billing office so I said I would reschedule the procedure and contact their billing office to figure out the cost. Their billing office told me that the doctor's office should be able to tell me what the procedure is and the price of it. I needed to know the exact procedure in order to get the insurance codes to talk with my insurance company. The doctor's office told me they could not give me the exact procedure because the doctor decides while he is doing it. They also told me the prices with an insurance company are different so I needed to contact my insurance. My insurance company told me they needed the insurance codes, which are determined by the type of procedure, which the doctor's office apparently could not give me. After I explained how I've been running around in circles to my insurance company, they recommended that I go somewhere else because their process is essentially "sketchy." There is no reason to go through a procedure that the doctor does not have planned out prior AND without knowing how much it would cost me. read more

YET ANOTHER MEDICAL ASSEMBLY LINE type medical practice. Be ready to be seen 30-45 minutes past your appointed time. They clearly overbook. Pro Tip: Bring a camping chair! (no really!) I can't say if he's a good dermatologist or not. I've seen him twice now and I can't say for sure if he's a good doctor or not as he has A VERY RUSHED DEMEANOR, Both visits I got the feeling from the moment he entered the exam room that he was eager to be through with me and get to the next patient. 1st visit he was done in 3 minutes, 2nd visit I peppered him with questions and got 5 minutes from him, but again, his attitude was distinctly "hurry up with your questions" as opposed to "do you have any questions I can answer for you" Gunter's waiting room is undersized for his patient load (saves on rent, so the doc can drive an even nicer car than you!) and the chairs run out fast. You'll be bumping elbows if you get a chair, it's (actually he's) that tight. You'll spot his office on the third floor as you get off the elevator since theirs always people standing in the hall because when the waiting room chairs are all taken there's no room left to stand. read more

Second complaint is the fact that Dr. Gunter looked at my issue for 1 min and was ready to pr scribe me medicine and schedule a follow up without actually running test and when I asked for a biopsy, he said ot would be a waste of time. I've been going to Dr. Gunter for over 10 years now and have never been disappointed. The wait times are around 30 min, sometimes, but rarely, more. I haven't been to a doctor in 30 years that didn't require some wait time. Dr. Gunter and Dr. Wolf have always been very helpful and answered all my questions. And I ask a lot of questions! All of my 30 plus skin cancer biopsies and removal surgeries have been accomplished with little to no scarring. The support staff is cordial, attentive and provide very professional support during all medical procedures. read more

I went there 09/19/17 filled out the application and left, my first impression was that the front office staff are very unprofessional, I will never go back, this is an indication that Dr. Gunter just does not care. This may be good service to the hispanic community but by American standards Dr, Gunter runs a terrible practice, Anybody not there to see Gunter should not be allowed in the waiting room. I hate to say this but I speak the truth, the larger the hispanic population grows in this Valley and it is at 84 % now the poorer services will become, so get use to it. read more

Dr. Gunter is very nice and we received good service inside and also by the front lobby. I really enjoy the pictures and decoration inside, they also have free samples which I really thought was great of them to do for his patients. Can I rate them a Zero??? Without getting in to much detail I went to have a spot on my forehead checked...came back cancer, so scheduled MOHS. Went for appointment and the doctor attended to me in a FAIR amount of time to scoop out the lesion, but then left me on the table for 2 hours while he conducted personal business on his phone and helped other patients! ( I could hear everything through the door of the small clinic) When I called out for help within an hour a nurse came to see if I was OK, which I said I wasn't since I still had the surgical sheet over my face and I had been waiting so long to get stitched up! She said the Doctor would be right in... 45 minutes more he comes in to close my head wound! Never going back... after posting on FB, I've been contacted by many individuals who have had other terrible experiences! Beware! read more

I had a terrible experience with filling my prescriptions. The pharmacist at CVS advised me to see a different Dr. Due to their having similar problems from many of his patients. Yes, there is a wait (generally 30 minutes after the appointment time). The two appointments that my daughter has had with Dr. Gunter have been good. He is very personable and asks for my thoughts and input in her treatment plan. He even takes a few minutes to ask my daughter about school and comment on her new glasses. I will never go back to this office again. When I walked thru the front door and saw wall to wall people that should of been my first clue to not pursue my first time appointment. After waiting 40 minutes, i get into the room and was told to put on a gown for a full body check. The Dr comes in and says what are you here for and I showed him moles I had on my face. Immediately he grabs a spray can and says "oh I can just burn those off" and starts spraying my face. Mind you this is my first appointment and have history of Melanoma, never once did he ask about it nor review my health chart in front of me. Then I asked him if he was going to check my body and he says come back in 2 weeks and will do that and remove a couple tags on my neck...wtf man, why was I told to undress???? He was in and out less than 5 minutes and basically had a rushed demeanor. This doctor was not anyone I have ever experienced and it seemed he was not concerned for my well being. I will not be going back in 2 weeks and will be going elsewhere for a 2nd opinion. Worst experience of my life!!!! Dr. Gunter is an excellent physician and his staff is very efficient and welcoming. Clearly the people that complained about the wait time have never waited for a great doctor with many many patients in cities like New York or Los Angeles. He is very thorough and effective. His matter-of-fact approach completely eliminated the embarrassment I had during the removal of some growths in the groin area. Before I could become embarrassed they were zapped away. He is even patient with educating new doctors he allows to follow him during treatments occasionally. I am grateful. read more

Waited in the reception area for over 45 minutes. This place was packed and moved very slowly. The receptionists were pretty clueless and lacked courtesy. Then I saw gunter. I told him I had painful warts on my feet and wanted them removed. He indicated "uhh, that's really weird!!!". Oh really Gunter? Thanks for making me feel like a mutant. Yeah it's gross, I'm not sure if it's common (but if Dr.scholls sells off the shelf remedies, it can't be that rare), but there's no need to treat a patient like that. I already feel grossed out about it, that's why I went to a doctor! I guess I'll just use the dr scholls plantar wart removal pads since it's so "weird!!!". Stay away, this guy is one of the worst doctors I've ever seen. read more
