In early June I ordered an "in stock" Aspire 105. My card was charged. ( glitch 1 ). After a couple weeks of the kayak being listed as being processed, I called and was told there was a glitch in the system and that it would be shipped in a week or so. (glitch 2) On the 25th of June my card was charged again. (glitch 3). I called and spoke with customer service when the kayak continued to be listed as being processed. They told me that the kayak was still on backorder, due to a glitch in the system. (glitch 4). I contacted them via e-mail and got no response. (glitch 5). At this point it became unexceptionable and after nearly 2 month of constant run around I cancelled my order. Steer clear of this company! read more

Ordered a jacket with two-day delivery, to get it in time for a short ski vacation, and the order was cancelled by them due to a "billing problem". I can see both the charge for the item, and the credit when they cancelled, on my CC statement... so the only problem here was relying on a smaller merchant, to complete a time sensitive transaction! I suspect this clearance item was actually out-of-stock when they went to fill the order. Anyway, you just won't have the Amazon-esque online shopping experience you have grown accustomed to, from this retailer. Powder7 is a recommended alternative. read more

Ordered new ski gloves online from skis.com/Summit Sports. Two weeks after they arrived the company sent a second pair, unsolicited, and charged my credit card a second time. Gloves are great but I do not need, nor am I willing to pay for two pairs. After a 30 minute wait for phone support, the rep refused to refund the credit card charge until they received the unsolicited second pair of gloves as a return. I am happy to make the return shipment, but holding money taken from my account, without my approval or knowledge, is extortion. read more

I purchased a pair of snow boots and when they arrived they were black instead of white. I contacted the company and the customer service rep stated their website had the wrong picture and since they did not carry white maybe I would consider the black. I told her no and I wanted to send back for a refund. They signed for the boots almost two weeks ago and still no refund. I have called and sent two emails with no return correspondence. Company created duplicate charges for my order. Initially they told me that the duplicate order would come off my card once the order shipped. Weeks after delivery and 4 unanswered emails to their customer support and still no movement on the duplicate charge. I'm beginning to think I will not see this money again. Ordered a pair of skis on Jan 11 that were supposed to ship out on Jan 25. After a week had past without a shipment notification, I reached out by email to customer service and never received a response. I tried again a couple of days later and still nothing. Tried via phone and wasn't able to connect with a rep. I finally received a response on Feb 5 via facebook messenger saying that my order was "accidentally flagged as backorder" but they had the skis in stock. I was then told that the skis were "missing" from the warehouse due to a new inventory system they are using. I finally received a response saying that they have no skis. I wasted nearly a month of my time on this transaction. (That'll teach me to shop local.) The customer service rep was apologetic but overall, the whole experience was totally sub par. I'll never be back to Summit Sports/Skis.com. Don't waste your time here. read more

There are other on-line ski outlets that have better prices and selection...I'm going to go with another operator next time. They listed a pair of prior season girls skis & bindings for a pretty good, but fairly standard discounted price (you can always get prior model year ski equipment substantially discounted in the off-season from many, many vendors) on their website, skis.com. I ordered and paid for them. They sent me an order confirmation. A few days later they e-mailed me and said there would be a shipping delay and I said no problem, we're not going skiing until December. Then a few days later they e-mailed me and said that my item was actually out of stock and offered to let me know about similar replacements. I found the exact same ski in the exact same size on their website, but with a different graphic, also a prior model year ski that other retailers are discounting and suggested they just send that one since it's essentially exactly what I had already paid for. However, they then tried to charge me full MSRP, which was almost double what I had already paid. Nobody in their right mind would pay full price for prior season skis under any circumstances and they certainly wouldn't agree to double the price they're paying to receive what they had already paid for, but still hadn't because of the retailer's screw up. I declined their absurd offer. Then they offered a completely different product, in a bigger size that anybody who knows anything about skiing would know couldn't work for the same sized child, for a higher price, which I obviously declined. Stay away from this company. There are a ton of great retailers of outdoor/ski/snowboarding equipment online that promptly send you exactly what you've already ordered and paid for and won't try to make more money off of you after they have your money and fail to deliver what you've already bought. This business and the companies they own are absolutely horrible to do business with. It's impossible to reach anyone in Customer Service that can help with an issue. All the customer service folks can do is apologize. And they have a policy about not letting customers talk or email anyone in management. Buyer beware. Company is a scam!!!! They do not follow their return policy. In the beginning they are super nice and help guide you to the right product and claim if you don't like it or it doesn't fit, just return it and get what suits you better. This is all BS to get you to buy something and the minute it arrives you are stuck with it. The minute I went to return my item they claimed their return policy does not allow returns on "used" Items. My purchase wasn't even taken out of the plastic bag. Their responses to my inquiry not only go unanswered, but when they do answer its short and cold. Do not order from them but from a trustworthy seller. I ordered a pair of ski boots on a Thursday to ship 3 day. I checked on Friday to see status of order. I noticed it had not shipped. No information was given to me. I chatted with them and was told their was a problem with the credit card and that I would have to call to resolve the problem. When I called I was put on hold and then told that I would get a call back in the order received. The call back told me that nobody was available to call me back. I then called twice more and was finally able to get a person. Their was no problem with the card, they just wanted to verify who I was. Would have been nice If I was told! Since the shipment was now going to be late, I paid an extra $25.00 to have it shipped 2 day priority. The item shipped that day and by the following morning the expected delivery date changed from two days to 4 days. There were no weather delays or explanations. Thus, I called back to ISKIS.com otherwise known as Summit Sports and was again left on hold and disconnected. I tried the chat service and was able to get a person who did issue a refund for my $25. The refund is the reason they got two stars. Otherwise, it would have been 1 star. read more

We just called to ask some questions about letter jackets and we were treated very rudely. It was almost like she was threatening us by telling us that if you dont buy everything here we will not help you with anything at all. So if you dont buy the letter jacket here we won't help you with patches or anything else so just go away. We were told that they never help anyone with jackets unless they bought the jacket in their store which we know is not true as we were told by friends that this is where they had their patches sewn on but they bought their jacket at another store. We should have known becuase they also said that they had to have them redo it twice because they kept putting things in the wrong places, but that they finally got it right. Anyway avoid this store until they learn to atleast treat people with kindness and even if that means just saying I am sorry but we are not able to help you with that but let me recommend a couple of locations. That would have been so much easier than being talked down to becuase we didn't but thr letter jacket there. The sad part is the only reason we didn't buy it there is becuase we went by there multiple times and they were never open. read more

I ordered a pair of Rossignol Pursuit 16 skis from Summit's online store, skis.com. These are hard to find skis and Summit was one of a small number of stores carrying them. Also, they had the best price. I used their online chat before making the purchase online. Their customer service guy was knowledgeable, he knew this ski and Rossi predecessors to the ski. He also, at my request, suggested alternative skis to consider. I had the Pursuit's shipped to Colorado where I ski rather than to Chicago where I live. I appreciate that Summit confirmed with me before shipping because they saw that the shipping and billing addresses were different. Delivery was prompt. The skis are great. Customer service assisted me later by emailing a replacement receipt (and discount coupon!) that I had misplaced. These folks are great. I tried shopping at their online Skis.com and was very disappointed. I liked their Take a Ski Lesson and We'll Give you $50 promo so I followed all the steps, found the gear I wanted and waited for the code to show up. Got a rude email back that I sent an Airbnb receipt. The receipt had "Learn to Ski in Lake Tahoe" on it. Because I ordered my lesson through Airbnb experiences when I traveled they needed proof that I was at a resort, like a lift ticket. I found, scanned in and attached the lift ticket and still haven't heard back. Of course the promo is over now and the gear I wanted is sold out. So lame. Crappy customer service. Online chat was useless, too, as he just blamed the promo lady and didn't offer any help. read more

Don't bother with Skis.com or Summit Sports. Very possibly the worst online retailer I have ever attempted to use. After ordering a pair of skis and contacting customer service twice when I did not receive them, I finally cancelled the order. Customer service told me the refund would be issued immediately, but I have not seen it and (based upon my overall experience) I fully expect that I will have to dispute the credit card charge to get a refund. A complete waste of my valuable time and now, one day before leaving for a trip, no gear! The only reason they get even one star is that customer service is very polite over the phone (if/when someone finally answers)... but polite does not matter unless you actually DO SOMETHING as well. DO NOT buy from Skis.com or Summit Sports! ordered two Junior Leases packages, Boots, Ski's and Binding for my 8 and 9 year old for Christmas. Ordered 2 weeks in advance with Christmas Delivery "Guarantied". Tried to track my package and saw it was still "Processing" called customer services, waited on hold for 90 minutes!! tried live chat and was disconnected "service not available" several times. After finally speaking to a live person I was told "they" forgot to send me binding or as they call it "teching" info. I had them email me the sheet, I immediately returned the info while on the phone with Customer Service. They promised me they would complete the order and ship out for Christmas Delivery!! They told me they would call if there were any issues...well, Christmas came and went, I was patient, gave them time, I took a deep breath... After waiting until the 28th, 4 days after they were suppose to show up, I called Again, Waited on hold for 26 minutes this time...and the guy tells me they are still processing!!!! haven't even shipped!!! no notes about the previous conversations!!! I requested a full refund. They have the refund part down good though, only took 24 hours to see my money back in my account! I guess that deserves a star. Companies a joke, customer service a joke...we have season passes and have lost valuable time and $$$ over break when we should have been skiing. read more
