Great overall selection of the top brand name golf clubs and gear. They also have a decent selection of used clubs if you're looking for that. Having the ability to use the various practice range bays that give you analytics is most helpful when looking for both feel and technical feedback when you're looking for a new driver, wedge or iron. The club repair/ maintenance department does a nice job with shaft and grip replacement. I just wish there was a location closer to where I reside. read more

I was in the Troy, MI Golf Galaxy (790 E Big Beaver Rd, Troy, MI 48083) on Sunday, Aug 11th, 2024 to shop for a few things, including some yellow Pro V1 golf balls (the website said the store had 1 box left). I have purchased many things over the years from this store, but not anymore. As I was looking through the golf balls for this box of yellow Pro V1s, I accidentally dropped a box on the floor and it opened. As I'm picking them up, I hear "How are we doing over by the Pro V1s?" I looked up and it was an employee racing over to me, and his only question was "are you trying to move balls around to take all same number balls in one box?" to which I told him that I dropped the box & was just picking them back up and that I was looking for the one box of Yellow ones and that he shouldn't accuse me of something I wasn't doing. I then gave him another chance to be polite and change his questioning to something helpful. So I again asked him, "Are you accusing me of trying to take all same number balls in one package?" to which he chose to double down on his accusation of me and replied "a lot of people do it so". Of course, while he's being loud and accusing me, I have other customers staring at us and walking away from the area as the employee is making me look like a thief. It was at this point I decided I was no longer buying anything at this store, so I handed him the socks I was going to purchase and told him I do come in quite often & purchase a good amount from this store, but I will not be back because of him. The employee was STEVE. From now on, I can shop for any of my golf equipment at Carls Golfland or the HUGE brand new PGA Tour Superstore in Novi Michigan. read more

If I'm not mistaken, they have a repair area or probably someone to help you change the grip in your club. Kids stuff are sold here too! Last year I bought my big Bertha epic driver from here. Why? Because unlike Carl's they take the time to help you. This year I bought my rogue irons from Rick. He took his time and was amazing. Today my big Bertha driver broke. I went to the store and instead of making me wait for call away warranty to replace my driver, John gave me a new driver so I wouldn't be without one. This is a nice Golfsmith location and we found abundant staff and they were all helpful. I like Carls more but sometimes they don't carry what I'm purchasing. Minus one star for having a very limited women's selection! I can't imagine why one would write a review and score a place quite low because the person and friend came into a store, dinked around and broke things then got kicked out. Swinging a club around recklessly is not just destructive to displays but if they had hit someone it would have seriously injured them. Bad Form!!! read more

Got a driver fitting at Golf Galaxy and it was a great experience. Rick, the person that helped me was very easy to work with, knowledgeable, and made the fitting enjoyable. I had never done anything like this before so I did not know how the process would go and it exceeded my expectations. Rick gave me multiple clubs and shafts...even asked what type of ball I use so we could make the fitting as close as possible to normal playing conditions. The technology available at Golf Galaxy is top notch and I truly saw a difference. Rick had me hit my driver first so I had a starting base and then proceeded to let me hit the other clubs so I could gauge what worked best for me. I was there for about an hour and can't wait to go back for an iron fitting. I highly recommend this experience at Golf Galaxy. read more

Got a pretty good deal on a new Cobra Fly-Z driver in person. I wanted to order a specific color but unfortunately due to having a gift debit card, could not place multiple cards online to purchase the club so I had to call around until I could find a Golfsmith that had the club. Long story short they wouldn't honor a GREAT deal from Jet.com for the Fly nor the Fly- Z +, as they don't consider that site a legitimate competitor, but they still switched out the regular flex shaft on the in house club for a stiff one, plus I got a colored head from another club added to it, not to mention a box to put it in, thy cleaned it for me, gave me a 15% discount and honored their discounted online pricing too. All in all I got the new club for $150 down from $200 and could utilize the gift debit card and another card to pay for it. Just thought they were really cool about it. read more

I went to this store yesterday after having received my holiday bonus check fully prepared to pay some serious cash for a new set of irons. I was in the store for 30-45 minutes and no one came to help me. They were too busy either hitting golf balls or talking. I will never shop here again, there are a lot of other good shops in the area that will wait on you. It's a shame too my last three golf club purchases were from the golf Galaxy in Sterling Heights. read more

Had a great experience here with Ed who took the time and effort to get me in a new driver and 3 wood. We spent an hour hitting clubs and with Ed's deep knowledge were able to laser focus it down to the M3 driver and M4 3 wood. Unlike the other big local store(Carls) they didn't charge me for the fitting and matched their price with no hesitation. I'll be going back for new irons in the next 30 days. read more

This location has a great selection. The staff seem pretty attentive as well and even honored an online coupon that they weren't promoting in-store. I also like that they never seem too full of customers so there's always room to practice putting or using the back simulation area with the drivers. read more

Stopped in for the new Cleveland Launcher Irons and Driver. Wanted a set for me and my wife. I was informed that a lot of people were coming in for them, but Golf Galaxy only carries Cleveland Wedges. The staff didn't understand why they didn't carry them either!! I was also interested in Wilson clubs. Was told they didn't carry Wilson clubs either! I thought the staff was joking with me. They weren't!!! read more

This is the second set of clubs I purchased and my game really improved. I was ready to move up to a set of Callaway Irons and Ping Driver and 5 wood. I was crushing my Titleist Driver but when I hit the Ping it was 10-12 yards longer and looked awesome. I'm very happy with how easy it is to hit a solid shot with my new iron. I was fitted by Nick and he was extremely helpful and suggested a larger grip which I love. read more

although the store is very nice i hate this place possibly worse than carl's (i have reveiwed them and the other golfsmith) no service what so ever if you're not over the age of 50 yes i wear jeans and a tshirt to shop there but why should i dress up in a nice shirt and dress pants to try out clubs before i buy? only reason i'll go in is to check out if they have any good used clubs sales and go to the one on hall road and ask if they can get it from this store lol avoid this place if possible just go there to hit the clubs and go to the other golfsmith on hall road or carls golfland to buy it lol read more
