The physical therapists are really hit and miss. Some of them are really good and some of them are clearly just going through the motions. It is really hard to schedule with the therapists you want (and they don't tell you when you're first scheduling that you'll have a different person each time.) They send you exercises to do at home, and will eventually update them if you ask. For me a lot of them were not really helpful. Some days it is very quiet and some days they are so busy that they're just running between patients. I would recommend asking for Madison or Jessie when scheduling, they are both really good.

When I called repeatedly and questioned that it looked pretty challenging immediately following surgery, and that several of the exercises like sets of "chair sits" on the day of surgery seemed excessive, I was told repeatedly by the PT staff, and the Dr covering for my surgeon, that "everyone complains about PT", and that if I didn't complete my PT, my surgery could be a failure, which I was also informed of at the surgery center the morning of the procedure. As a result of the PT error, I had torn meniscus, scar tissue and cartilage in my knee joint and 11 months of futile PT. I was never offered an acknowledgement of error or an apology.

I have had 4 knee replacements, 3 hip replacements and open heart surgery due to tumor on mitral valve throughout my 61yrs. and now confined to a wheelchair. In 2019 C1-T-4 was fused. My life today is chronic pain 24/7. He installed a pain pump in 2023 for my lower back. It works great!. I took a fall on to the hot burning pavement June 6, 2025. Heard my head hit the ground. I believe it jarred the fusion from 2019. The nerves became rapid fire, pain 24/7. On 6/19 I had a procedure called spinal cord catherization throughout my spine. Within 2hrs my number 10 pain decreased to an 8 by bedtime I was at my bace line of 6. I highly recommend Dr. Castillo's office he is very knowledgeable, listens, and takes the time for you. Now I mostly see Kristin Sharma, PA, and she is also very understanding. It seems like I always have something odd going on, and we talk about it and adjust medications or treatments accordingly. She knows I can be reluctant to keep going up on my meds, so she lets me ride it out sometimes until it is obvious we need to increase. She really listens and documents well. I recently pulled my medical records to apply for disability, and she wrote down everything I said. They were very thorough. I really think that is why I wàs able to get approved. I worked for at least 35 years as well. That helps. The only thing I wasn't happy about was the Rheumera app. No one in the office told me that this little AI app was going to charge me 58 dollars a month as my copay. I think they were going to charge my insurance 85. It definitely wasn't worth it. It took me several phone calls and notices to get it canceled. I wasn't happy to have to pay all those when it was never explained. Also, now that I am on infusions, they said the medicine would be free or 5 dollars. Well come to find out they charge for the administration almost 200 dollars. I have a high deductible plan. Luckily I only go every 8 weeks. That often times includes lab work, though. My insurance stinks, and I hope it is better once I get on Medidcare.

I also like the fact that he can do almost everything in his office like blood work, X-rays, even physical therapy and Chiropractic. This place is like a one stop shop. Very convenient. My biggest negative is the wait times I've experienced on occasion but I realize he's a busy man serving a lot of people. Overall, I have to say that I'm very happy with doctor Bruce Sobel.
