We have been with her since she started her practice, when I was pregnant with my baby in 2017. Whenever I have a worry or concern, they are always there and answer immediately to any concerns. The minimal feee every month is so worth it just for the peace of mind of having a Dr on call. It has taken course to get other drs to call back while I wait with a sick baby or I literally have to go to er while waiting for other drs to call back. Not at purely Peds. Our other Doctors office was rude, and hurtful, especially to a new mom trying to navigate this new world in the middle of a pandemic. They were rude, pushy, and didn't really explain anything very well. When a friend suggested Purely Peds to me, we jumped on the chance to get out of that nightmare! But never in a million years did I think we would find a place so caring and compassionate. You can tell that these people went into business because they LOVE what they do- They recently switched to a bigger and beautiful building. The drive is pretty far but oh, so worth it! We never leave the office crying or feeling like we're bad parents- they explain everything very in-depth and detailed. They have the time and patience to listen and help with ANY concern you may have- and never make you feel like your dumb or a burden for asking! They have a very fair price to make this private office so affordable- haha babies are expensive. But I can't explain how grateful and happy I am, knowing that Naomi is in such great hands! She is the most important thing in our lives so she gets the best- I wouldn't have it any other way. Has your child's doctor ever made you cry? Or feel unimportant or over worried? To the Practice Leadership of Tonawanda Pediatrics:…read more I am submitting a formal complaint regarding the conduct of Jessica, the office manager, during an incident this morning involving myself and my 7-year-old daughter. The way this situation was handled was inappropriate, rude, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. Jessica entered the situation without taking the time to understand what was actually happening. She never introduced herself, never made any meaningful attempt to hear my concerns, and, most importantly, never acknowledged or took responsibility for the fact that I have now made five separate attempts to obtain a simple report or note from a therapist at this practice. Five requests for basic documentation should not have resulted in this level of frustration or confrontation. I want a clear explanation as to why this request has still not been fulfilled. What is preventing Tonawanda Pediatrics from providing this documentation? Why have five requests gone unanswered or unresolved? More concerning was Jessica's conduct during today's interaction. Rather than attempting to resolve the matter professionally, she proceeded to threaten me by stating that my 7-year-old daughter could be kicked out of the practice. That is completely unacceptable. A parent raising a legitimate concern regarding their child's care and requesting documentation should not be threatened with the removal of their child from the medical practice simply because they are asking questions and seeking answers. I am therefore requesting that practice leadership immediately investigate: * Jessica's conduct during today's incident; * Why my request for the therapist's report/note has not been fulfilled after five attempts; * Why I was threatened with the possibility of my daughter being removed from the practice; * Whether Jessica's conduct was consistent with the standards expected of someone serving as an office manager; and * What steps will be taken to ensure that my daughter does not experience any adverse treatment because I raised these concerns. Given the seriousness of what occurred, I strongly believe Jessica's conduct warrants immediate administrative review and consideration of whether she should remain in her position. I am not looking for an argument. I am looking for accountability, an explanation, and professional treatment. Most importantly, this concerns the care of my 7-year-old daughter. I expect Tonawanda Pediatrics to treat both of us with the professionalism, respect, and courtesy that should be expected from a pediatric medical practice. Her attitude was condescending and intolerant when I asked her to answer questions that I had. For a pediatrician's office, more care should be placed in making the office welcoming to children (age appropriate colors, toys, etc). Doctors should take time to introduce themselves to the children. It is a simple request to have doctors patiently and kindly answer parents' questions. I have never felt so unwelcome at a medical professional's office before. Answering simple questions is part of standard professional practice.

Never got a referral to a specialist for her issues or anything. I ended up switching doctors when she had a horrible smell coming from her face that I called them about. They took her in, looked at her eyes ears & in her nose. Failed to see the giant ball of cotton (that I seen from across the room but just assumed it was a booger). When I got her home I figured I should help her get that boogie out & had her blowing into a tissue for like 2 minutes before I took a flashlight and looked up there myself & that's when I noticed the cotton. I got it out myself & followed up with a ENT to ensure she was okay. I don't understand how they missed that. Never went back to them after that day!

Then after it was thrown onto the counter where I was also asked for a dose of pain medication and was ignored due to our grandchild's shot. one of the nurses walked up to the counter and said well it wasn't me but here's the paper with the info about her shots that were giving today they claimed she missed many appointments which I was told after her last visit she was good on shots her vaccines until she turned two. I was told by the nurse make an appointment close to her second year birth day. which I had. she also was due for her lead levels. They told me my baby needed six shots that day and I refused it due to the mistreatment we reviewed as well continue to relieve. I am now asking for a transfer to another pediatrician I am very comfortable with. The doctor intented and kept insisting my baby get all the shots that day I stated I knew that they're all important but felt that it was to much for her all in one time same day meaning. There was not one word spoken by anyone no I was not comfortable exspecially with it being people working with children I am asshammed I really am. I was so discussed by the way I was treated and they shouldn't be working with children please do not take ur child or children grandchildren to this place if u do be please prepared to be mistreated!

Dr. Joel and staff always listen and respond in a caring manner. They go out of their way to accommodate you when your child is sick. The small practice allows for a personal experience each visit. Sheridan Peds is a wonderful, loving, and nurturing practice. I feel as though they are part of my family. I wish they could treat my children into adulthood.

I haven't been to a doctor since because it brings back these traumatic experiences everytime, and I'm 33 now. Please go into the room with your child wherever you take them. My parents never went in the room with me and stayed in the waiting lobby. I saw him for clinical depression which i still have but I had to see him to get my medicines prescribed. He made my depression far worse from inappropriately touching me in ways I didn't understand doctors aren't supposed to do at the time but felt off about it. I trusted him. Without ever treating me before, Dr. Lugo took my emergency appointment request and sat with me to go over the diagnosis so that he could complete the form for me. I appreciate the time he took to complete my request so that I could have the form back timely. Dr. Lugo asks the right questions and listens to your concerns. Highly recommend!
