We took the free Connector streetcar from almost the most-northern stop, at Findlay Market to the most-southern stop on 2nd Street west of Main (May 2026). It's a less-then 15 minute walk to the Rosenberg Riverfront Swings (funded by a Mr. Rosenberg) which offer a stunning overlook of the Ohio River and the Kentucky riverfront! We walked south across Mehring Way, then west through Smale park. A little ways past the suspension bridge, the path curves toward the river, and there are about 20 two-person and three-person swings, shaded under wavy wood-slat canopies. Midday on a weekday there were plenty to choose from. What a splendid peaceful oasis!

The park was in appeared to be in generally good condition. We did not investigate the condition of the fields up close. There are some nice spots to view the Ohio River. There is access to the Ohio River. Depending on water levels, the river is not always easily accessible. I would not use this point to put a boat in the river. It is more to enjoy the view. When water levels are low there is a drop off. Our purpose for visiting the park was for a conservation project. Our group was looking for a place to preform a river clean-up. In a few hour's time, we used all of the bags we brought with us. All kinds of crazy things wash up on the riverbanks. Due to the freezing temperatures, there were items inbeded in the soil we were unable to remove. Visiting in the winter means the park is fairly empty. You will have no problems spreading out. I could see it being packed when games are being played here. Most of the people we saw were walking their dogs. There is an active railroad track that runs through part of the park. There is a crossing point.

These contemporary igloos are the cutest thing and they're heated, which of course is a plus. It gave us a space to come and warm up in and it's perfect for a group. We even brought a speaker to curate the vibes in the igloo. They had a nice bar that you can grab drinks from as well. I ended up getting a hot toddy and box wine. The ice-skating rink itself was perfect and everything is new here so I think it's the best time to go and visit.

My friends and I rented an igloo during the winter rental season for $170ish after fees. The rental includes 2 hours in the heated igloo, 8 drinks and 8 skate admissions. We were in igloo #1, the hot air balloon theme from Flight Club. Across the street, Flight Club hooked us up with some delicious girl dinner snacks of wings + sea salt fries + truffle fries. Unfortunately you can't order over the phone, only in person, but it was just a couple minute walk over. The restaurant is super swanky inside and the food was soooo good! Ranch wings were da bomb. The ice rink is majorly improved as far as aesthetic, the lit trees in the middle make it magical at night. However, the rink seems smaller and the ice is super chunky. They do run a Zamboni but maybe not often enough. There were very light crowds the night we went so it was perfect for us! There's several fire pits and plenty of benches/chairs for seating. The drink stand has a decent selection of alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks including hot cocoa. On top of all of that, everyone working down there was so nice! They even offered to extend our igloo time since we were the last ones! Can't wait to see it in the summer!

Or for marathoners that are looking for a short run this week :) The course winds it was through the historic brewery district in downtown Cincinnati. Much of the course winds it way through the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, including the nicer and not-so-nice areas. The start and finish line is in front of Smale Park by the Red's Stadium. The course is mostly flat, but there is one killer hill as you wind your way up into Clifton. Pretty much everyone stopped and walked on this one! There are a lot of pretty historic and not-so-historic buildings that you pass along the way, making the route somewhat interesting. The swag on this one is pretty darn good! A logo beer stein and bottle opener medal. Also, two beers and coneys to resupply your body with essential nutrients. Lines to get all of these things were a little outrageous. I hope they fix this issue next year. There were plenty of water stops throughout, but bring your own energy BLOKS etc. Definitely a good value for the money. Go for it!
