Nice playground. Open space with paved paths. Next to good restaurants and bars…read more We gathered at Summit Park with friends over several days (Jun 2026). The playground along the eastern edge of Summit Park was very popular with the kids, There are135 acres (!) of greenspace, a fish-stocked (!) catch-and-release pond, and more climbers and such for older kids. The walkers and dog-owners among us liked the long network of paved paths and the dog-park area. There's a central open space apparently for concerts and such. I admit, i spent most of my time watching from outside the kids' playground, and listening to a band over the covered walkway next to the taco place, with a relaxing beverage from the nearby bar :-). Sometimes it's nice not to be in charge. None of us braved the cool-looking 9-level 153-foot observation tower because the we site said that the elevators were closed at the time. They say you can see downtown! There is also a slippery splash and play "water course" to explore which was closed, too, during our visit. They say there's ice skating in the winter. The whole experience worked for us because of the nice restaurants, bars, and ice cream shops along the north and east edges of the park. We ate twice with different groups at the Mexican taco place, and three times at the park-themed restaurant. We had coffee and drinks from the cafe / bar / bottle-store. We got ice cream twice! We didnt make it to the bakery or the diner, or the chic nail salon which could have been nice for some me-time :-).

The pretty Todd Pond offers a nice place to sit and relax and also allows fishing. A couple of shelter houses and a gazebo, with picnic tables, are available. The playground area is great - swings, slides, climbing structures, seesaw, and more. A paved walking trail winds through the park. A clean restroom is available, and there are two paved parking lots available on either side.

Blue Ash Nature Park is a nice little getaway in suburban Cincinnati. It's very easy to miss. The…read morepark isn't large, but there's several miles of trails. It also has an amphitheater. This is a good gathering spot. Although it's in a suburb, it doesn't feel like it. It has several miles of trails that are mostly quiet. The only exception is when there's a concert at the amphitheater, but it's usually something like jazz and not ear shattering. Chances are you will have the trails mostly to yourself if there isn't a concert. The trails are covered in gravel, which helps keep your shoes from getting muddy. It has a few public bathrooms. These aren't the cleanest but they are kept up. If you don't know where it is, you may pass it a few times before noticing it. It's located along Cooper Road. The entrance is next to the police station.

There is nice shade throughout the park, which makes it a great choice even during hot, sunny days. The playgrounds have a variety of equipment, so it's worth exploring each of them if you can encourage your little ones to resist the urge to stay only on the first one on the path. One has a sandbox, another has a neat seesaw that little ones can stand on and bounce back and forth with a friend. Well worth a visit!

My husband and I brought our 1 year old here for a birthday picnic and found a quiet grassy spot to enjoy our special time. We also let him play on the new(ish) playground. It's SO cool. Very nature themed and unique. On our last visit, my (now 16 month old) son had a blast just running through the grassy areas near the playground picking up sticks. We got some sweet family photos. I can't wait to bring him back to play in the water features sometime.

This stretch of land offers widely varying topography and plant life. It appeared that the park required a parking fee at least some of the time, though it didn't seem to be enforced while I was there (maybe it's a Memorial Day-Labor Day situation?). Regardless, the $10 for a car would be a pretty good deal. There was a kid's garden that looked nice and which costs extra. One can walk into the gardens from nearby footpaths as well, though there did not seem to be any access directly from the residential neighborhoods nearby.

My kids loved the bigger equipment, and even my husband and I tried a few things. Not long into our play, a thunderstorm came. We chose to shelter in the large pavilion, and ended up playing tag. While the entire Cincinnati riverfront is gorgeous, we couldn't find a place that was covered where we could eat. As we were driving by we saw this park! Parking was $5 and the park was empty except for our party. The bridge provided covering from the rain and there were many picnic tables surrounding the park. The play structure is made out of trex building material and included LOTS of elements for our kids to play. Swing set, monkey bars, climbing rope, etc. the ground is squishy. There is a good amount of noise from the cars driving over the bridge overhead, but it was a sweet spot to eat lunch and let the kids work off some steam.
