It was started to get built by architect Terry Brown in 1992 and completed in 2006. Terry Brown him self resided in it until his passing in 2008. This house looks like a mushroom from a certain angle, and like an owl from another. It is a fairytale house in the real world. There's so much fine detail, there's no wonder it had taken this genius man 14 years to complete this artistic masterpiece of a home. The spiral orange stair case was chained off not allowing access to the public. There was a car parked in the driveway as well as a surveillance camera. They also had a "no trespassing" sign. The land around, although very minimal is very well groomed and well kept. Something tells me there are people who currently reside here. I don't know how I would feel about living in a home that gets so much attention and that is always being photographed. The Mushroom House is a must see in Cincinnati. Use your fairytale imagination to guide you inside. Happy travels!

The grass was neatly mowed and kept up well! Bonus points for trash cans spread throughout the playground. Highly recommend! I may even bring my own kiddo if we are ever in the area!

While the entire Cincinnati riverfront is gorgeous, we couldn't find a place that was covered where we could eat. As we were driving by we saw this park! Parking was $5 and the park was empty except for our party. The bridge provided covering from the rain and there were many picnic tables surrounding the park. The play structure is made out of trex building material and included LOTS of elements for our kids to play. Swing set, monkey bars, climbing rope, etc. the ground is squishy. There is a good amount of noise from the cars driving over the bridge overhead, but it was a sweet spot to eat lunch and let the kids work off some steam.

It's perfect for getting together with friends, with multiple gathering areas and even rentable spaces. I've seen people taking engagement photos here, hosting weddings, and I even did my own graduation pictures here. It really is such a beautiful setting for special moments. One thing that always surprises me is how big it is. There are genuine hiking trails that wind through the woods, which is amazing for a park so close to the city. It's also great for birding, and I often see people playing frisbee, walking their dogs, or just enjoying a peaceful walk. The native plants and flowers are so well maintained, and there are so many little tucked away spots where you can sit with friends or a partner and enjoy a quiet, private moment. It's an absolutely beautiful park in a great area, and I can't recommend it enough.

On Sundays in the summer a musician plays the carillon bells in the tower for about an hour in the afternoon. This seems to be a popular spot to take engagement pictures and senior pictures. From there follow the trail into the woods and along the creek. It's a great place to take your kids to learn about trees, bugs, and other outdoorsy things. The trail does not go very far before the creek makes a sharp left turn and it becomes difficult to go further. We wandered around for a while trying to find the continuation of the trail, but it seems that it ends at the bend in the creek. From there you backtrack to the park. This park is within walking distance of our house, so on our way home we pass through the Mariemont square and always get some ice cream from Graeters. A great way to end any afternoon. It can be hard to find this park, but Mariemont has put a sign pointing the way in the median on Wooster Pike.
