This review is for the staff and in specifically "Cindy". I called to make my grandmother an appointment since she already had a referral. I gave her information and they told me nothing came up. They were asking me if I was sure that this was the right place. Yes it's the right place the same address and phone number on the paper. The woman was giving me a huge attitude and seemed like if she didn't want to help at all. She eventually found my grandma with the same D.O.B that I've been giving her the whole time. Fast forward to a month later she calls to give a reminder for the appointment. Oh gosh it was even worse this time. By the end of the call she said "have a better day" and hung up. I called back because I wanted her name and no answer. Eventually after the third call someone else answered and I asked if they could find out who I spoke with and they did it was Cindy. If she knows she has to speak with people everyday she should get a new job because the way she speaks to people is horrendous. read more

A friend who is a physician referred me to this practice many years years ago because of hip problems. I have had a perfect arthroscopic hip surgery performed by Dr. Greene, a perfect total hip replacement surgery by Dr. Sasaura, and a dozen visits for cortisone injections and follow-up appointments throughout my time as a patient. I'm a huge fan of these guys and Summit. They are the best! read more

The staff are HORRIBLE, it is really sad that such a group of highly respected surgeons employee a group of such hostile, inconsiderate and incompetent office staff. I had a prior authorization that was never done, when I called, it was but done but not correctly. When I asked why, I was treated with hostility for the negligence on their part. I was even told that the "person" that did not file the original request was "no longer employed" there. They clearly take no care or even try to use appropriate vernacular when writing a prior authorization. I have never experienced such gross negligence. Most places will bend over backyard to get you approved for a procedure making sure to write it in a manor that will be accepted by the insurance company. These people have no regard for their patients. It is also very interesting that Brianna reply's to all of the good reviews but does not address a single negative one. read more

Last year I was referred to Dr Cameto for hip replacement surgery. I met Dr Cameto and was very pleased with him that day and for the pre op app't. I have had several follow ups with Both Dr Cameto and PA Denton. Both have been extremely helpful and professional. The hip surgery went so well, I couldn't believe I was walking around just 6 hours atter leaving the recovery room. Absolutely no post op pain and with 3 weeks of PT I was as good as new. If you need hip surgery I highly recommend Dr Cameto. read more

I was sent here by my pcp because of my right knee. Its swollen and sore and after the accident, that didn't help the situation one bit. My knee hit the dash board and made it swell even more. So upon my visit, it seem as if the doctor knew exactly what he thought was wrong. So he wanted a MRI to prove it. So he had the assistant that was with him in the room, who apparently was dictating as he spoke to give me all the info to go do the MRI. The office is nice and big, very clean and quite. There are about 4 or 5 secretaries to check the patients in/or out. The atmosphere is soothing. There's lots of chairs along the walls and there's also lots of space for wheel chairs as well. They have a flat screen centered in the room. The office is very modern and high tech. The pictures and the art are all really nice and makes the office look expensive.. Since the MRI, it was really difficult trying to get a follow-up appointment. No one returns call. I received two call about coming in for MRI results, but whenever I called back. I got no response!! It literally took about a month to get an appointment to get my results. It just goes to show how sometimes looks can be deceiving. It just looks like everyone is working. I was later told the person that did not return calls was being replaced. Well I have to come back so we'll see how things change. read more

If I had the option to give this place zero stars, I would. My three year old son fractured his elbow on a Friday afternoon, so this was on'y ortho nearby that could get us in. I was prepared to wait because I knew we were going to be treated as a walk in. While sitting the waiting room, we had to listen to two different woman screaming and cussing at the front desk personnel because of the wait. This always upsets me, because I don't talk that way in front of my child and I find it very disrespectful. Nothing was done to try and stop these people from behaving this way. We were called up to the window and I was told that they would need to take a photo of my son. Ok, so I had my husband bring him over. At this point my son has a broken bone, its past dinner time and he hasn't had a nap. He wasn't in the mood to have his picture taken. The girl at the front desk was visibly annoyed and did nothing to try and make him feel better. Finally we were brought back by a young man who explained that he would have a soft splint put on and he would come back next for the hard cast. He was cold and in a hurry. Then the PA came in, his name was Michael Denton. He was by far the rudest person I have ever met in the medical field. This man has never heard of a beside manner. When I asked exactly what bone was broken, he snapped at me that my son's pediatrician should have already told me that. To which I replied that I was driving and had just found out my son broken his elbow, I didn't have time to write it down. Nothing was explained to my husband and I. When my husband asked if he had any tips for bathing a very active child who is now in a cast, he rolled his eyes and said, "yeah you keep it dry". I would like to say that it ended there, but no. Both the PA and the MA came back in the room to apply my son's soft splint. Again, they said nothing to us but instead complained about how many other patients were left to be seen, and then began talking poorly about their coworkers in front of us. As we were leaving I told my husband that we wouldn't be bringing our son back. Because we have a PPO, I found a different orthopedic office to take my son to, one that specializes in pediatrics. I would have driven him to San Francisco before going back to this place. I was disgusted with the way we were treated here. read more

I've since switched orthopedists, so I can very assuredly say that the service here is terrible. I was never seen on time and I felt like my concerns were just ignored. I think they see a very high volume of patients, and if you aren't a potential surgical candidate, you aren't worth their time. I've broken my feet several times and my most recent break was a doozy. Not enough to require surgery, though, so I guess I wasn't seen as a cash cow for them. My concerns about how to avoid future breaks were ignored. I'm not out participating in wild and crazy activities. Each and every time I've broken a foot, it's been through the sheer act of walking. In flat soled shoes. They call me Mr. Glass. Lo and behold, I switched orthopedists at my primary care doctor's insistence (I was sent here by an urgent care center), and they discovered that I had additional fractures that this place either didn't see or just didn't want to bother telling me about. So now I've got another month of healing ahead of me. read more

My first non-restaurant yelp review. We took my kindergarten child to this place after we found out that she broke her arm at the school since her regular doctor was not available that day. After grueling wait at the waiting room, we were seen by a young male nurse with terrible bedside manners. Finally, the PA (not Doctor) came and examined the xray (not my kids arm) and told us that she needs surgery. When asked if Doctor needs to her, we were told no and surgery decision in these "type of case" is made by PA. Next day, we went to a different orthopedic surgeon practice in Sac for a second opinion, we were see by a real doctor and he made the decision that she does not need surgery!! It has been more than a month now and arm has healed correctly and needed no surgery. Bottom line, Ask to see a Doctor so that he/she can make surgical decision. read more

I got absolutely no help from this ortho. I've been struggling with a knee issue for 4 years and nobody has been able to figure it out. My knee gets swollen with fluid and it feels like my bones are being crushed. It leaves me in excruciating pain and completely immobile. It takes about a month to even be seen by this place and by then my knee isn't swollen so they can't figure it out. I needed someone who actually cares to help, and who could see me when I need it most. This place is just too busy to figure out what's wrong. They seem like they are just itching to cut into people already diagnosed with an issue. I'm sure they are great surgeons but my experience was terrible and a huge waste of time. read more

I was waiting for my knee replacement surgery and experienced a huge flare up in my pain. In the morning I called the clinic and they were able to squeeze me in. Maddie was able to give me an injection which helped with the pain and then we moved up the surgery date to meet my needs. Thank you for being so responsive to my needs. read more

The reviews about the office staff may have a little bit of merit but the doctors here are soooo awesome it's something I can deal with! Dr Sasaura has done two ACL reconstructions on each knee and I absolutely would (and have) referred him to anyone needing a great knee doctor. I had two ACL reconstructions prior to Sasaura and they both failed. My knees were a mess and he fixed them! Can't tell you how grateful I am for his knowledge and wonderful bedside manners. My husband has seen Dr. Green for his shoulder and elbow and he can't say enough wonderful things about him. I had an issue with the office staff before they became Summit Orthopedic- When they were NCOC - Since they've become Summit, the office staff is much better. IF you have an issue with the office staff, let your Doctor know.... they can only change something they are aware of. I went to Yelp to get their number for my husband and I was appalled at the reviews and compelled to write one myself. I have been a patient of Dr. Hunter Greene's even before it turned into "Summit Orthopedics". Total joke. I injured my shoulder 2 weeks ago, I called to make an appointment. The receptionist was not only RUDE but acted like my call was a complete inconvenience to her and told me that appointments were all the way out til Aug 21st (6 weeks away). I hung up. a couple days later I was even in more pain and went to Mercy San Juan ER and was told to follow up with my Orthopedic doctor. Since I was right there, I stopped in to make an appointment. The waiting room was empty and only 1 person behind the desk. I had to wait to be called forward and was greeted with a very snotty..."Yeess?" The receptionist, barely acknowledged my existence..and again I was told the appointment were out til Aug 21st. So I made one. I got home and was so livid. So I went elsewhere. My injury occurred on July 11th today is July 26th. In this time, I not only was seen by another Orthopedic doctor but I have already had my MRI and even had it looked at & read by my new doctor within 1 hour of my MRI being completed. Let's just say that I now have an active treatment plan and am working on being "Pain Free". Something that Summit could care less about. Although I have always like Dr. Greene, the reception staff and the way the office is run is appalling. Never again will I step foot in that office. read more

I am extremely pleased with the services especially with Dr. Tanaka. He is very thorough and very professional. He patiently explained everything including the plan of care. I may have discomfort and suffered from my previous doctor but knowing that there are people who truly cares make me feel better. The PA, the scribes, the clerks and XR techs were all super nice and helpful. I wish I have started my treatment and follow up with Summit after I broke my forearm. Hands down the best orthopedic care I have ever had. I have had years of issues with a failed hip replacement from another doctor in another city. I was sent to Dr. Sasaura for a hip revision. Dr. Sausara fixed my hip. My life turned around once he became my orthopedist. He is also personable, caring and explains everything that will happen. The staff is great. The staff was incredibly rude. My PCP referred me to this office and after they processed the referral they told me they wouldn't take my case. They told me that I had to go back to the doctor that put my cast on. Well I got a boot put on in on ER out of the area. I did have a doctor in my area, but due to insurance issues, I had to find a new one. They told me there was nothing they could do for me and that they would not be taking my case. Keep in mind, that they had my referral for over a week. I kept calling to make an appointment and they said that my insurance approved my referral and they would call me for an appointment. They sat on this for over a week. A week that I should have been using to find a new doctor. Now I am 3 months post-op with no doctor to instruct me on what to do next. The staff was incredibly rude, curt, and unempathetic to my situation. read more

ANN that is some person that runs the office that threatened to not do the 2nd part of the hip replacement my son needs if we did not stop calling due to their neglect in patent care. She did not want to hear people being upset with their office. My son is still waiting on the 2nd part of a hip replacement Which 1st half was done10/21/18. He was given a Medical plan of action by Dr. S. He had to get some bone taken out and have a medicated spacer put in for 6 weeks that after another 2 weeks then test to see if his infection was gone. He was all clear for the second part of the surgery after 60 days and no one called to schedule the 2nd half of it. After many calls with messages left, NO one called back. After another month I told my son that I would call and get a hold of some one about it. Now all of a sudden they don't take the medical coverage he has and they used before. Since it is a county based Medi-cal due to being on disability for this. He had regular work medical but since he is off on disability till this is done he has to use this and they excepted it before. I was told by one of the surgery scheduling staff that he had 90 day to have had it done it with that medi-cal. I told her it was in the 90 days they just never called to schedule it. Bottom line is they sat on it so they did not have to take that medical this way they got paid more money. I am a Social worker in the medical field and this is unacceptable!!! It is Medical neglect!! they had 90 day to do the full hip replacement where they would take the medical he had and they sat on it till that time expired and he has to jump threw hoops to change it to what they want him to have. All I have to say if I would never recommend this office to anyone due to this situation. I bet some of the DR. have no clue their staff is behaving in this way. The Dr. told my son that that his office dropped the ball with him. That says a lot!! ANN has a major attitude and threatens patients with not completing surgery's!!! read more

I saw Dr. Hansen at the Grass Valley office. The office staff is useless...one does not know what the others are doing. Appointments are difficult to get. Follow up is the same. Dr. Hansen misdiagnosed my DeQuervain's Syndrome as a cyst. If she had looked it up, she would have found that such a cyst is part of the Syndrome. I also had Trigger Thumb. Some technician gave me a cortisone injection WITHOUT using a numbing agent, even after I told him I have Fibromyalgia. The pain was so great, I ended up with back spasms for weeks thereafter. Dr. Hansen performed the Trigger Release Surgery. There was no follow up because appointments were so far out....the Grass Valley Surgery Center she used was the WORST. I subsequently had my wrist repaired at Yuba City Rideout. Also, repeatedly, Summit charged for a 45 minute appointment. This consisted of me waiting for 40 minutes and being seen for 5 minutes. Dr. Hunter Greene is terrific. He was the only doctor who was willing to take my case without pushing for the surgery. My recovery may have taken longer by allowing my body to heal naturally, but I'm so glad I took this route. It's rare to have a surgeon on your side, who isn't eager to cut before looking at all other options first. This man was a God send for me. Also, the entire office staff were very sweet and I never had any issues with scheduling or re-scheduling appointments. Highly recommend this office! read more

My 35 year old grandson had hip surgery on 10/21/2018 because of an infection. Dr. Paul M. Sasaura M.D., did his first surgery and put in a temporary hip with antibiotic spacers, telling us it was so fragile that it would not be safe to bear weight on it. he said after 6 weeks of antibiotics if the hip remained clear of infection he would do the surgery for his permanent hip. Today is nearly 4 months after that surgery and the infection is gone, the doctor has not replaced the temporary hip. ANNE in that office forced him to get a different insurance and when I brought in the new card said their office would not accept it, even though they should. How cruel is it for a patient to be abandoned like that. He's 35 and has a 5 year old son and has been unable to work or live a normal life because of this gross negligence. The office staff has no compassion at all. Anne said the doctor did not know when he did the first surgery how much money he would make. read more

Went for cortizone shot in knee for arthritis. They did previously with great results. This time though the pain returned in about 48 hours. Four days later it feels as though I never got the shot. Also, I had to pay for office visit so they could simply tell me that they needed to get pre-auth for shot. This really required me to pay for an office visit? Had to pay for second office visit when I went in for shot. While there I asked about them looking at my shoulder. This would require yet another office visit as I was told they cannot do two separate body parts on same visit. I am now looking for new doctor. Don L read more

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!! I should have left a review the first time and every other time after my other encounters with this practice. But I thought to myself I won't be going back here ever again and felt no need to leave a review. But now I want others to know how I have been treated by this practice and their staff so others can avoid this place if possible. I was originally referred here by an ER doctor. When I was called to schedule an appointment I was lied to over the phone!!! I was told I would be scheduling an appt. to get my MRI done, which was not the case. I was told I would make a deposit of $300 and I would pay the difference. I asked how much the MRI would cost and on average how much the visit would cost because my medical coverage was not active (became active the day of my visit). The lady could not give me a straight answer. She explained that it depends on if I needed to get x-rays done among other things. I explained to her I have had multiple x-rays and CT-scans done. She explained to me that if I brought those in I would not have to pay for them. On the day of my appt. (2/19/14) I did not get an MRI done on my right knee and I was billed for my x-rays that I brought in myself. I was billed for the x-rays because they made COPIES of it. I'm completely frustrated. I paid the difference the day of my appt. to get the 20% discount. A week later I get a bill in the mail for my visit. Are you kidding me? I call the office and explained to them I already paid the bill in full and I have my receipt. I was put on hold 3 different times while they looked up my account, my card and then they told me to disregard the bill. Now that I have medical coverage through Anthem Blue Cross I was sent back to Summit by my primary care provider (PCP). My PCP told me to go back to Summit and if they try to bill me, I need to show them this paper. I immediately go to Summit after seeing my PCP (I'm now doing everything through the books so I don't have to pay for my MRI out of pocket). I asked the PA Chad Spears if I could get another referral for an MRI now that I have health insurance and he said that's something he can do. Upon checking out I was told they won't be able to submit an MRI request for me until they know which insurance to bill. I showed them the paper my PCP told me to show them. The front desk lady along with the PA and another lady consulted and concluded I would not have to pay for my visit on 2/28/14. She ripped up the bill and threw it in the trash. She then told me they would follow up with me once they know the type of insurance I have. I don't receive a call and so I call them to follow up. I was told that my insurance does not cover radiology. So I called my insurance and the rep told me I'm covered for radiology. She puts me on hold while she calls Summit. When she gets back on the line she tells me that Summit's explanation is I was hit by a car and they don't deal with third party and that's their company policy and so I won't be getting a referral for an MRI. I also tried getting reimbursed for my initial visit but when I spoke with their billing supervisor I was told they don't except my kind of insurance plan and I would need to have my PCP refer me out to see a different ortho. I don't understand why my PCP would send me to a place they are contracted with that does not take my insurance. Now I am being billed for the visit was on 2/28/14. I am extremely upset! Why am I getting a bill for a visit I was told I would not get billed for?? I DO NOT recommend this place at all and I wish I would have done more research to know this is not a place to seek medical attention. I have been lied to repeatedly. I was hit by a car going 20mph and I can't get medical treatment from this place is just ridiculous! I wasted a lot of time. We took my 10 y/o daughter here yesterday to have a cast put on after a referal to come here for normal doctor. Walked in got all checked in and then come to find out they dont take walk in referals any more? What is this all about? They are in our network of providers and would not see us claiming that this is a new policy? I should have claimed I didnt have insurance and paid out of pocket and been seen right away. Plus the staff here was totally rude! I would agree with the other yelp reviews and just avoid this place at all cost it is a total joke. Sorry to be the judgemental type but it caters to the type of people who dont have insurance and are living off the goverment and can get more insurance money claims...now we are back to square one trying to find a place to get a cast for our daughter. Love Dr. Green but the staff and time management is horrible! If it wasn't for Dr. Green I would not come back to this place! Most of the ladies who are office staff are rude! The turnover rate on the office staff is ridiculous!!!! If they hired nicer office staff and kept to their appointments my review would be different. This is the third time I have been here. The first two times was for our mother and painful broken arm. Myself, brother in law and husband all spoke immediately about the poor service in waiting room. We are all over 50 and don't expect much but courteous staff. We felt that we had inconvenienced them. Surgeon was awesome mom healed rapidly and we could not say enough about how pleased we were with them. !!!!!!! Recent visit for myself. Walked in and immediately given the stink eye by some tall red headed gentlemen. No hello nothing. I asked if I was in the right place since I immediately felt I had intruded on them. He asked my name then I was sent over to data entry receptionist to give them my medical card etc. No hello from her as well, no smile, nothing either just straight question and answer. I will say at that point after being in traffic with two of my four kids I used the same monotone response. The treatment was the same in the room. They were extremely brief in letting me change. I told them I was unaware that I needed X-ray. I had them done already and later receptionist informed me it was my responsibility to bring them. How would I know? I did not know what they were going to do to me. I was sent by referral from my private doctor. Not given adequate time to change, no knock just walk on in. I asked if they had a mirror cuz I was having trouble removing my necklace. Told nope! Funny cuz on my way out I did see a bathroom very close but Im obviously holding them up. Zap zap zap X-ray done then off to the room where my doctor came fairly quick. Did not even know they could check an X-ray that fast. I will say that the red headed gentlemen did briefly offer assistance to help remove my necklace but just as briefly said he could not get it off. (gal with doctor and X-ray tech were nice) Dr. Sasaura came in and was magnificent. Explained all the issues and options. Felt I was with someone very competent. I felt very reassured and taken care of which is how we felt about the surgeon that worked on our mom. She also had knee replacement on both knees at this hospital (Mercy San Juan) although this company is private located in building. When I left my kids who waited in the lobby age 20 and 10 immediately asked me if everything was alright. They expressed that they felt the tall gentlemen with the red hair and female data entry receptionist may have had a problem with me. I asked why they felt that way. They heard them continuously whispering to each other and it just felt to them like it was in regards to me. Of course I don't know nor do they but it does concern me that they were made to feel so uncomfortable. I asked if anyone said anything to them while they were the only ones waiting in the waiting room. "Nope they just turned off the tv mom." Sorry if Im all over the place with this write up. I felt compelled to comment but a mother of four also has much homework and dinner to cook so excuse me for all the bad grammar, run ons, and etc. We live downtown and receive such great treatment from Mercy and Sutter establishments here its a shame we were not made to feel welcomed at this practice. Especially when our doctors go out of the way to seek us the best of the best in medical treatment. It seems to me that the doctors here are some of the best its unfortunate that the staff is not as friendly or welcoming. Although I will say that be true to yourself and if you really don't like people or just our family in general certainly don't change on our behalf. I do love people and this is why it so saddened me. Wish I could have gotten to know you all better. read more
