Dr. John and his staff are all very friendly, accommodating and happy to answer any questions you have. Dr Ryu is awesome! My existing prescription was no longer working and needed to have my eyes rechecked. Scheduling was easy and flexible. I received appointment reminders which were really nice. On my second appointment I needed to reschedule and they were super accommodating. This was my first visit with Dr Ryu and he was friendly, thoroughly explained and educated me each step of the process and displayed an amazing amount of patience as this was my first attempt at contacts. He worked diligently until he found the correct combination of lenses for my eyes. He is extremely personable and makes your time in the office a pleasurable one. This office is the best! Done with the larger franchise type offices. Dr John sat down with me actually listened to my concerns about several pairs of glasses that I couldn't get comfortable with. Then gave me great exam and explained his thoughts on my problems and made a great suggestion. Never in 25 years of wearing glasses have I been so excited with my lenses. He took the time to fully understand my history being a new client. Communication was detailed and easy to understand. During the exam he recommended additional treatment for my chronic dry right eye. I explained that I went to the hospital several months before for discomfort in my right eye; the trip to the opthalmologist was unsuccessful. I moved from Saint Louis and I saw the reviews were good in Yelp,Still had my doubts, but he was excellent. I Saw an expensive optometrist in STL and he had all the equipments and he was charging my insurance and myself for all the unnecessary tests, he even told me I can do LASIK,This doctor told me I have an excellent 20/20 near vision and if I do I'll lose that(Great Advice). I preferred contacts, I had problems with my left eye as I had Astigmatism, the doctor recommended new lens and both eyes were sharp whereas my previous doc told that's reality after reduction in eye sight.This Doc was so courteous as I had to pick up my contacts as I was late, I thought will pick later but he called and as my residence was near on his way back to home, he dropped it in my house, Hats off to this doctor. read more

This was the BEST eye exam I have ever had! Not only was Dr. Ryu thorough, but he explained what he was doing each step of the way. He told me things about my eyes that no other doctor has ever told me. He is friendly and kind, and genuinely cares about his patients!
