Unfortunately, the morning of our appointments, while shaving, my razor slipped and nicked my ankle bone. When we got to the salon, I apologized, told the lady at the front that I couldn't do the deluxe pedicure, and the lady said I could do just gel nails. I originally selected a pink Cat Eye gel color. My friend selected a white color. Now, on to the service. My friend's pedicurist was a very friendly female. My pedicurist was a male and not friendly. When I told him the situation about not being able to do the deluxe pedicure, he acted like it was such an inconvenience to him that he had to do a regular polishing. Additionally, he told me that, because I was not doing the deluxe pedicure, he couldn't trim my toenails, but would do it anyway. Although I was glad that he chose to trim them, it made no sense why they typically don't with a regular polishing. He also said he would not be able to do anything with the cuticles, which is understandable. The cherry on top of this unpleasant sundae? After telling me he was out of the first pink shade I selected, I chose a darker pink Cat Eye gel color. He painted my toenails a glittery purple. I did want to say something before he completed one toe, but felt like I "inconvenienced" him enough, which was not my intention at all. Although I insisted on paying, my friend wanted to. When she got home, she sent me a photo of the receipt, which angered both of us. My pedicurist charged me for a gel polish change with removal, which came out to $30, and an additional $10 and $5 with no service descriptions next to these prices. For the record, I did not have toenail polish on when we came in for our appointments. We have never been scammed at a nail salon before. My friend was here to visit and we were looking forward to a relaxing nail salon day. This is one salon we will avoid in the future.

He then said that he'd asked if I still wanted the full set. I NEVER heard him ask me that! I'm like what made you think I didn't when I told you exactly what I was here for?! He called someone who told him that I'd have to come back at 3pm when they'd be back or I could come back another day. I was so outdone with him because he could have told me that from the beginning and I would've gone somewhere to get exactly what I wanted done. I am in town for a few days staying in a downtown hotel, so I was looking for someone anywhere…read morenearby but I can get my nails done. I called Polished around 4:30 PM on a Saturday, and they were able to give me an appointment for pedicure only at 5:15 PM. The shop closes at 6 PM, so it definitely made sense that they couldn't fit in a manicure also. I arrived a few minutes early and was able to get checked in. They have comfortable couch seating for people who are waiting for service. My nail tech came to retrieve me and got started on my service pretty quickly. It was a wonderful pedicure experience, and they allowed me to sit at the drying table past closing time as they were cleaning the shop and finishing up service on a few other manicure clients. The staff was extremely friendly. They were offering up restaurant advice to several clients who were out of town, visitors, including myself. I learned that people are allowed to bring their own beer or wine into the nail shop to consume while getting serviced-- maybe be a helpful tip for someone. Also, this shop has Sunday hours, which is often not the case with nail salons.

Everything was clean with a calm atmosphere and friendly staff.
