My experience at Summit Medical Group in Clifton has been wonderful. The facility is always very clean and well maintained, and the staff provides excellent customer service. Everyone is professional, helpful, and welcoming. The doctors are wonderful, especially Dr. Brian Schactman. He is kind, caring, extremely knowledgeable, and super smart. He takes the time to listen and makes you feel that you are in excellent hands. I highly recommend Summit Medical Group in Clifton and especially Dr. Schactman. Five stars! read more

The overall experience was degrading and I would NEVER agree to go to that facility again, and that is even though I was happy with the doctor who treated me .The doctor was fine, and the attending nurse was fine but, the support staff treated me like I was a leper. When my procedure was done, I tried to get my jacket because I was cold . The staff member who was waiting with a wheelchair barked in an angry tone ,"get in the chair " .When I explained that I wanted my jacket and other items, he again ,and in an even more commanding voice said "get into the chair " while pushing it even closer to me and blocking the path to my possessions. He followed up his power grab by bundling up by jacket and pouch and then tossing them onto my lap . The fall from several feet up caused, as I found out later , several small but, definite scratches to my previously pristine sunglasses as the keys in my pocket apparently rubbed along the lenses in the frames . I have been in need of treatment for many years and had procedures at several hospitals in northern NJ as well as a couple of treatment centers. I was always treated politely and with understanding .Those of us who are in constant physical pain appreciate kind words and a warm tone but, what I got at Summit's 6 Brighton Rd facility was treatment nothing short of harsh, and I was made to feel that I was, at best, an inconvenience to the ancillary staff. I will never go back there and suggest that you also elect to have your treatment or examination at another location, even if it is with the same doctor :that is what I shall do. read more

I called to reschedule an appointment and not only do they not answer for over 30 minutes, when the scheduler called back they were so rude like they were doing you a favor just to give you information. AND, they knew nothing about the doctors. Horrible! read more

I have visited this location for several doctors visits and to get blood work done. Recently, I started with a new primary care doctor - Dr Dana Schonberg. Dr. Schonberg was incredible. She asked me lots of questions and answered all of mine! She was very personable, kind and efficient. I think my visit was a total of half an hour from check in to being seen, which I loved! The office is clean and staff attentive and friendly. Recommend if you are looking for a new medical group or primary care doctor. read more

Summit Medical Group - Medical Centers Near Me - Clifton, New Jersey

It is impossible to get through to my doctor office location on the phone. I'm not even talking about the Dr. himself on the phone just anyone that works in the office at Clifton past a scheduling department that lies and uses fake names . I get to the second buffer system the actual office location and they want you to use the portal but the email message sits in limbo even if you need blood pressure medication. Or other medication. Its ridiculous if you have an Elderly person who does not know how to use these things or make complaints the could have serious problems I would not suggest a big location where primary concerns are not the patient if you are lucky to get an appointment or get through to your actual Doctor . I put one star just because I have to leave Star to leave this. Sad !! I've been going to this doctor over 17 years !! read more

this place is top notch one stop shop. clean facilities, all medical specialties, including a lab on site. My mother had knee surgery through their orthopedic practice, and the care from beginning to end was outstanding. All the doctors, staff, surgery scheduler (Jonathan O) were amazing and really made this arduous time less so. read more

Go elsewhere! The Summit Health new patient onboarding and portals are a complete disaster!! I am a systems engineer and had a lot of difficulty navigating the three different sites I was directed to use. THREE sites??? What the heck is Summit thinking about? You need a drastic overhaul of your online systems. Immediately consolidate to one site. Why do we have to register with the patient portal, the Athena Health site, and check-in.epionhealth.com? There is no reason whatsoever that patients should have to go through these gyrations to register. Regarding the last site, epionhealth.com, I am Caucasian and couldn't find my race. I found over 100 Indian tribes though. Who ever is making these design decisions should be fired immediately and replaced with a competent developer. In my 50+ years going to doctors offices, I have never experienced such an inefficient and disastrous patient onboarding process. I don't think someone could even make something worse than this lousy excuse for a portal. This experience is a complete turnoff! Every person I know that uses Summit Health says the same thing. They hate it!! It makes them want to go elsewhere. I think it's time that execs at Summit actually sit down together and try to create a new account, book an appointment and upload photos of ID's and insurance. Go ahead and try to find a race that is even close to your own. A white/caucasian person will never find their race. Go through the very extensive list of races and think to yourself "what the hell is this crap"! It's a joke! I want you to experience the same painful waste of time that your system is! You're more concerned with acquisitions than you are about the patient experience. Time to slow down and revamp everything, otherwise you will lose patients very quickly. You obvious couldn't care less about your patients. Experiences spread very quickly on social media, which could doom Summit Health. It should be renamed to Summit Health Sucks! If it wasn't for Dr Sarti and his staff, I wouldn't come back. I won't use any other provider in Summit Health. They don't deserve my business! Bring some sanity back to your patient onboarding and appointment processes. read more

Went to see a doctor at this clinic hoping to get some answers to my health needs. I had to suggest blood work follow up to find out why I went to see her in the first place. After the results were posted on their website no one follow up with me. I had to call to call and tried to speak with the doctor where I as told doctors make their own policy on follow up with a patient. Finally one of the nurses called me and left a message on my voicemail. Called back and was on hold for awhile, until the receptionist came back and said if I wanted to leave a message for someone to call me back. So far none has call me back. read more

Not only does this practice time your visits at 15 minutes per visit and God forbid it goes over that point, but they pre-bill, they don't provide the service even if it's their fault that they are late. Avoid this corporation at all cost some of their doctors are good some more not most of them are not worth the wait. There are are other places to go. read more

I had an appointment for 9:15. I arrived at the office at 9:05. Within 5 minutes I was taken to an exam room where the nurse took my vitals. She said that the doctor would be in within a few minutes. Since I was early for my appointment, I didn't expect the doctor immediately. I waited 30 more minutes. At 9:40, no one ever came back to check on me. I went to the desk, told the staff that my appointment was 9:15 and I was leaving. They did not ask if I wanted to reschedule, if they could get the doctor, or even if I would wait. They definitely do not care about their patients. They are a money hungry machine. read more

There are only good things to say about this office. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Dr.Brian Schactman has been our family physician for over 25 years. I can say he is well- trained, knowledgeable and his skills and work ethic goes above and beyond. As a retired ICU Nurse I would recommend Summit Medical Group and Dr.Brian Schactman to anyone seeking a kind, compassionate and brilliant doctor. read more

I think this is a great group. They see you in under 15 min and help you find any other specialists needed that are under their group even at other locations. The front desk staff is alright, not so friendly but diligent in their work which is what matters most. I've never had negative interaction with any of the staff. You're in an out the way most appointments should be. I see Dr. Igbokwe and she's super thoughtful and takes her time answering questions and providing help. read more

I'm pretty sure the doctors are very professional and great at their jobs. However the front desk receiptionists are rude and obnoxious. I was coming from more than an a hour away and got lost. So I was about 15mins late. The receipsionist told me that she tried to reach me, the number she has listed and admitted to was wrong, So according to her, I should of pulled over, on the highway and call her instead. All in All my information should of been updated when I made the appointment. Also the testing why I went there the Dr said they don't do, also recipsionist fault because she could of saved me all of time, gas, and stress. Highly unsatisfied with the front desk receipsionists. TIS THE SEASON, THAT IS THE ONLY REASON I GAVE 3 STARS. read more

Dr. Catherine Torres is excellent, and she really takes her time to go over everything and answer all your questions. She cares about her patients and is not rushing to complete her appt in 5 min and move on to the next patient, like other MDs at this office. If not for her I would leave this office group. Dr. Torres is warm and down to earth. I lucked out in getting an appt with her, only because my previous MD left the practice. It must be said, the office can be incompetent with any phone inquiries and especially prescription refills. Always a problem and it requires the patient to do multiple follow-up calls to ensure that the right prescription was sent to the right pharmacy. Such a headache and unnecessary back and forth dealing with anyone on the phone. Also, be prepared to be on hold for 20 min even though there are several people at the front desk. No attention to detail and dangerous. If not for COVID I would show up to the office and wait to to speak and provide a written request they can follow correctly. read more

worst experience ever ... the check in process was great and the front end staff was quick and on point . I saw dr Ahmed Mahmoud who did nothing to help my ear issues. This man looked in my ear told me I had fluid and gave me nasal sprays I was having ear issues and the nasal solutions did nothing for my ear . I saw him a second time at another location and he seemed annoyed because it was a Saturday I informed him my neck was now swelling and he didn't even bother to acknowledge my neck as being connected to the ear issue ... received a $900 bill for physician services for this nonsense . Their services are way over priced and the communication is very poor I would have never gone here if I knew insurance would not cover this garbage . Waste of time !! read more

I thought my visit was going to be as pleasant as it was with Dr. Lavian who is extremely caring, and professional. Unfortunately my visit with Dr. Kavanagh was not good at all. He did not care about my pain, saw me for 2 mins or so and told me he will see me in 1 month. I had many questions to ask but I couldn't since he literally walked out after telling that I got to do PT. Dr. Lavian already suggested PT but still recommended me to see Lavanagh since he was the "expert" in that area. I could have not wasted my time, and money and just go straight to PT. However, I decided to give the doctor a chance. I'm extremely disappointed about his careless and unprofessional treatment!!! read more
