I had a very disappointing experience with M Kelleher. When I raised the possibility that my son might have whooping cough, she rudely asked, "Why would you think that?" -- to which I replied, "I'm not a doctor." She also refused to let me explain the situation and instead told my son (a minor) to speak for himself when he had wanted my help. Her demeanor was short, condescending, and completely lacking in bedside manner. To make matters worse, she didn't verbally explain the treatment plan during the visit -- we only found out through the notes afterward that she recommended allergy medicine. Communication is key in healthcare, and this was unacceptable. We will not be returning if she is the provider on duty. read more

Specifically, she shouldn't be "lecturing me" on her own personal views, that were totally "unrelated" to my visit. In addition, her views didn't even apply to me at all. Dr. Maureen Kelleher's bedside manner is horrible. She asked my husband straight out if his stomach was "always that big"....are you kidding me??!! She sent my 13 year old to the ER because her heart rate was high....well yeah, she had a fever. She tested positive for the flu and Dr. Kelleher told me to get Thermaflu from the ER. But not only that, she literally said to me (with my daughter sitting right there) "SOMETHING ISNT RIGHT" Maybe take me outside the room to tell me instead of scaring my poor daughter!!??.......got to the ER and they said they wouldn't send their worst enemy to that immedicenter. There were many more experiences with that doctor that were not good. I give this place 2 stars for the front desk staff....they have always been pleasant. read more

I have a bad chest cold and congestion. My Dr is on summer vacation. Figured I would go to the Immedicenter as I have used them in the past in just such a situation. First, the closest one on Broad Street in Bloomfield closed at 4 pm (on a week day). I thought the whole purpose of the business is immediate and/or after hours medical care. The second Immedicenter farther up Broad in Clifton was open till 8 pm. I drove there only to see a sign requesting that I call the front desk. I called the front desk and they told me that a chest cold was an internal medicine visit and that it was to risky to help me. I got a negative COVID test a few hours before and offered to show them proof of that and they told me to pound it. Receptionist was quite rude/abrupt to boot. Will never be going back. read more

They referred me to Fair Lawn Imaging which is in their group. I had a MRI done there last Friday. One week later, I've called 4 days in a row and nothing. One person told me they use Montclair Radiology because they get results faster from there. Why would I be pointed to Fair Lawn Imaging... This is a nightmare. I went to this clinic today because it's Sunday and, feeling miserable, suspected I might have strep, as I have had it before and the symptoms are the same. I called first (they answered right away, after hearing a slew of options and "please wait for the next available" when the options were over, so that is good). I asked how long the wait would be; I was told 1.5 hours and it would only get worse. So I went right away. Pulling into the lot, the first thing I noticed was the awnings on the building. They are torn and frayed and so filthy -- like, layers and layers of dirt and crud -- that I almost changed my mind about stepping inside. Strike 1. But I really wanted to know if I had strep so in I went. I was greeted right away and was told to sign in. I got my paperwork, one of which was a waiver because my insurance plan (Aetna) was not accepted (they do take some Aetna plans though). Strike 2; this is the first place that doesn't take it. I stayed anyway, figuring I'd pay out of pocket if I had to, since I wanted to start antibiotics immediately if I had strep. The waiting room was decent; not sparkling clean but not a pigpen. There were enough chairs and there were magazines and TVs. They did not have antibacterial gel there for patient use, which bummed me out because after touching their communal pen, I really wanted to sanitize. Strike 3. I waited in there for 2 hours, was seen by the assistant, and waited another 20 for a PA to see me. A long wait, but really it's not their fault. The 2 stars are because the assistant was great. He was professional and kind. He took my vitals and asked questions, and I then eagerly awaited my rapid strep test. The PA came in with a tepid greeting and mumbled questions at me. But it wasn't until she asked, "Do you have any chronical diseases?" that I got scared. CHRONICAL? Really? Big fat strike 4. I let her continue and then mentioned that if the rapid strep test was negative, I would want a standard culture and blood test. That's when she dropped the bomb: they don't offer rapid strep tests. Strike 5. I nearly started yelling at her (but of course this is not her fault, and my throat couldn't handle it anyway). The whole reason I went to a clinic on a Sunday was to find out if I needed antibiotics or not. Every other time I've had strep, it was discovered with a rapid strep test, which means that the suffering ends far sooner. So she did a throat culture, told me "it doesn't look like strep; you probably don't have it," ordered a blood test, and told me 2 different stories about when they'd be ready (first, culture in 2 days, bloodwork in 5 days). When I asked if I could call the clinic for the strep results in 2 days she said no, it would take longer. When I questioned her, she changed it back to 2 days. (added later: It WAS strep, and they called me the very next day, which was a pleasant surprise.) The phlebotomist, who I waited another 20 minutes to see, was ok; at least she only stuck me once. But she had to poke around for the vein once the needle was in, which was extremely painful. (Added 1 week later: I still have an ugly bruise at the needle site that is 1.5 inches in diameter. No excuse for that!) Checkout was fine; they accept credit cards. In summary -- DON'T go here for a rapid strep test, and DON'T go if you are tend to get sick easily -- you might get something else on top of the reason you're there. Best for a cough or an x-ray, or, if you can, wait until you can go to a real doctor. read more

I went to the ImmediCenter in Clifton with what looked like a cold / flu. While it's recommended one get an appointment before going, I was unable and came as a "walk-in". I got there very early and found the wait time to be under an hour. The doctor and nurses took the time to administer the proper tests to arrive at an accurate diagnosis. And I found the staff to be dedicated, knowledgeable and friendly. For excellent medical care with the "hometown touch", I highly recommend the ImmediCenter in Clifton, New Jersey. read more

Terrible service. Came for a scheduled appointment and waited 45 mins to be seen. For a routine physical I was told I needed to come back the next day because I didn't fast for blood work. I was not told prior to my appointment that I needed to fast and this was after I was asked to see a visiting doctor. Why make an appointment if you can honor it and don't have capacity to see patients. I WILL NEVER visit this office again and feel terrible for those who have no choice. read more

Excellent service. I came in as a walk in, and within 15 minutes, I was called into the backroom. I appreciate that I did not have to wait a long time to be seen by the medical staff. The waiting room was not full at all when I got there which meant to me that they have excellent customer service in not keeping people waiting to be seen. Highly professional center. Today I came for a sick visit, I have been waiting for an hour and a half so far. I will no longer use this office. Everyone who came after me,jas been called and seen and I am still waiting! I asked how much longer, I was advised after the appointments and company appointments are completed. May be I should have been advised this when I signed in. She never failed with her diagnosis and her treatment of our illnesses. She sizes you up looking at the whole person, body and soul, and makes her determination about your symptoms. I was the 2nd person in line and it was a 2 hour wait ... I even asked the lady at the front desk who said it would be "real quick"

My problem is with the payment system at the Clifton Immedicenter. I am from Rochester, NY and had to take my wife in two weeks in a row for different conditions. Each time as I was leaving, I was told that "Blue Cross is too slow in payment; you pay us the entire charge ($125.00) upfront and when we get reimbursed we'll pay you back". I foolishly believed them and paid the $125.00 twice and waited to get the money back. I called Blue Cross last week and they told me, "We never pay directly to the customer. We paid Immedicenter two months ago." I mailed a certified letter to Immedicenter asking them to refund my payment (less the co-pay) and they haven't yet responded. I believe double-billing for a treatment is a criminal offense. If I do not receive the refund check soon, I will contact the NJ Dept of Fraud Investigation as well as Blue Cross and ask for a checkup on their financial practices. After all, if they double-billed Blue Cross and me, they probably have done the same thing to other people, too. read more

The lady foriegner Doctor plainly said that Doctors out in the West have no idea how to prescribe medications and that my Doctor shouldn't be giving me meds for my Sleep Apnea that he does. She's half his age, I would trust him more than I'd ever trust her. In my first appointment, they spelled my name wrong on multiple forms and did not give me discharge papers which is very unprofessional. I had severe bronchitis. I was rudely told by the receptionist that they don't see sick people. What?! Seriously?! This is a drs office and an urgent care at that! I told them all I needed was a breathing treatment and a z-pack. I had to wait in my car for twenty minutes before the dr called. I explained the situation and he said they don't do breathing treatments due to covid! I insisted on being seen. Had to wait another 20 minutes for a nurse to come out to do a covid test which was negative, like I told them in the first place. I was then granted admittance which included a dirty look from the receptionist. A few tests confirmed bronchitis, like I said. Was prescribed meds and told to go to the ER for the breathing treatment. I said I'm not sitting in the ER for 4 hours and getting hit with that charge for a treatment I've received here many times. Dr shrugged and said covid. These people are not overwhelmed or even busy as we have been led to believe about people in the medical field. Receptionist, admins and nurses were all hanging out laughing and joking. Really looked like they didn't want to work. If covid is going to be around forever, does that mean that this office is not going to treat patients ever again? I recommend finding a drs office that treats "sick people" instead of coming here. read more

I had to wait 3 hours, and then I was seen by a young woman who was claiming to be a "doctor." She was several years younger than me (I'm 27), and she was wearing a shear, see through blouse with nothing but a very bright, multicolored floral bra underneath. She was not from the United States and didn't speak fluent English. She did not help in at all, she didn't understand what I was saying. I have heard crazier things about this Immedicenter too. I went to have a sore in the corner of my mouth checked out at the Immedicenter in Clifton; I live in Massachusetts and I'd been stuck in NJ for about a week because of a death in the family, so I couldn't go and see my regular doctor in Boston. I know that physicians generally frown on the practice of self-diagnosis via the Internet, but I Googled what I had, I checked out pictures, and I was pretty confident that I had a specific type of infection,especially that I was predisposed to it given my medical history. I was seen by a physician very quickly at the Immedicenter and I barely waited, but this physician took just a cursory glance at my lip and didn't look at it closely or examine it. She diagnosed it as a cold sore right away, telling me that her daughter got them all the time. She told me to put Bacitracin on it to keep it moist, even though I told her I'd been putting Vaseline and Neosporin on it for over a week with no change. It looked absolutely nothing like a cold sore, and while I don't expect her to know details about every skin condition in the world, my Boston physicians would have done some quick online research or made a phone call because they wanted to help me. This physician was kind and personable, but she put zero effort into treating me, and it was frustrating. I would have been much more impressed if she admitted that she didn't know everything and she'd looked up a little info on what was going on so that she could prescribe something to treat the actual issue. read more

Appallingly bad. My wife made an appt. on the phone. They assured her that they accepted our insurance (Medicare with AARP Medicare United Health Care supplemental coverage. When she got there, the idiots told her that they could only treat her if she designated them as her primary care physician. I had encountered this BS before. As a result, I spent half an hour on the phone with United Health Care, who assured me that Immedicenter was wrong when they told us this nonsense about making them our PCP, because they are part of our network. They are imbeciles, the wait times are ridiculous. I hope they go broke. read more

A shoddy medical practice. Recently, I took my daughter there with a deep, persistent cough. They sent her away with a prescription for antibiotics, but inexplicably, no cough medicine. The next morning, they did call in a prescription for a cough medicine. But it proved ineffective. Late in the day, I called again. She had been four days without eating, two without sleep. They refused to phone in a prescription for a stronger, effective cough syrup. A major storm was coming and there was no telling if we were going to be snowed in. It was a long, horrible night before we got to a real doctor. The slip-shod medicine, and indifference to a patient's suffering left me appalled. Rude and horrible bedside manners with one of the female Drs. This happened a few yrs back, wished I remembered her name along with leaving a comment on here then. I came in with fever and other ailments. I have a history of pneumonia every yr and wanted to be xrayed to check cuz I was worried. After a long wait in waiting room, I get go to in the room and Dr walks in and reads my medical history. All of a sudden her demeanor changes and starts mumbling under breath and passive-aggressively talks to me while back is turned and reading her computer screen. Seems irritated and Kept mumbling 'why You're even there when you have so many things going on and blablabla ' ... I'm thinking 'seriously? Does she know she's saying this out loud? She actually works here? If she felt she can't handle me and sick ppl, she's in the wrong profession. Granted, yes, I may have a complex issue but can't believe this 'Dr.' was saying this out loud. I've never felt so unwelcomed. She could have just said 'You do have a complex history but I'll do my best to help'. I should've walked out, I already felt like crap, a caring Dr would've made some difference. No one deserves her cold attitude. read more

I am a current patient but have not received the level of care I'm accustomed to receiving and I am looking to make a change asap. the support staff looks to hide behind procedures and protocols. The person assigned to referrals was obtuse and more concerned with following procedure rather than assisting a patient. Long lines and an erratic record of care characterize my experience with this. I've seen excellent physicians and not-so-great doctors at this place. A misdiagnosis here, a lack of follow up there. Sometimes no flu, pneumonia,shingles or other vaccine in stock. So I wish I could give it higher grades, based on the good experiences I've had with more than half the doctors I've seen, but I'd rather just say it's ok, not great. My review is based on my use of this Immedicenter several times over several years for conditions from pink eye to a sprained foot and ankle. The last time I went there was in November of 2013. That time and always before I received prompt, courteous care there, that was appropriate to my health situation. A few years ago I listed this center as my primary care doctor with my insurance. My experiences with them have always been good. The doctor I listed had a Hispanic name that began with the letter B. I only had fine care from that person. I do not know if that doctor is still there. The doctor I saw last November was also excellent and thorough, also an MD. I believe they give me a choice of seeing and MD or a nurse practitioner. I was checking their address today prior to going there for an emergent condition and saw the bad reviews. It concerns me that the level of service may have fallen off so much. I am puzzled and wondering if I should bother to go there. It is a long bus trip that seemed worthwhile when I knew I would get good care there, but not I do not know what to do after reading the bad reviews. I am rating them on my own previous experience as of late last year, not on their 2014 reviews. Later: My decision was to terminate Immedicenter of Clifton as my listed primary care doctor with my insurance company, based on the recent bad Yelp reviews. I cannot afford to waste time and money on below standard care. This action has been completed and I have listed another doctor in their place. I wish I could give NO STARS for this dump. I arrived to a half full waiting area and Three TV's that were all turned off or not working, after providing my info as a walk-in, I was told it would take long so I sat down and browsed the web on my iphone, an hour later I ask if I will be seen soon and they had completely forgotten to put me in the system so I was not even in line to be seen yet, thinking this was just a simple mistake I sat back down and figured I'm an hour vested here and might as well ride this out. 2.5 hours later I am finally invited into the back, only 30minutes till what I thought would be a real doctor arrived but was just a Physician's Assistant to be told they couldn't even help and I needed to go to the ER. Went in for pain management and got more pain and stress than anyone should seeking help. Head Doctor Basista saw me. I explained to him I seriously injured my arm in a weight lifting competition and needed something to subdue the pain. I told him in the past that Tylenol with Codeine has worked. He rudely makes a small laugh/snicker and stated "I'm not going to give you a Narcotic." Okay I said what can you give me. "I can give you tons of Tramadol, it is not regulated by the DEA." I asked him that I had an x-ray done, that I wanted further testing, and he shook his head saying that isn't necessary it will go away.". Now does that sound professional to you? The medicine worked but when I ran out and was back in pain. Adventure #2 (next visit) I saw a so-called doctor Mercedes Camacho. I told her that Tramadol or something stronger seems to be the only thing to work. She told me I should take Motrin. I reminded her that everything over the counter does not help with the pain. She stated that all medicine tricks the brain and blocks pain receptors that pills are not the answer. Why did Doctor Basista give me pills then? I told her I came in for a refill and possibly set up a date for further testing on my arm. She refused to give me a refill stating the medicine is addictive and I seem too anxious to receive it. I told her I was waiting for an hour just to see someone with a DEA license that the last Doctor told me I had to wait specifically for Miss Mercedes since she didn't have a DEA license to prescribe medicine. As a customer with needs I expected more understanding. I found the service unprofessional and that I was being treated as a pill pop'er. What was most rude was the following day Doctor Basista telling me that he didnt appreciate the way I treated his staff, that they considered calling the police since i was too demanding. I told him he has to hear what I have to say since there is two sides to the story, and he told me after speaking with several employees that what I have to say won't really matter. I told him he'd make a horrible judge. I told him that they sent my prescriptions to a pharmacy that was already closed and that I needed my medicine now for obvious reasons. He did shockingly apologize for that, but said I was in the wrong for how I acted. There's million doctor's out there, this place is def not a good place to go. read more
