What especially sets OPMR aside from other rehabilitation centers is that they are an integrated team of professionals including chiropractors, a pain management physician, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, and an awesome administrative team. The medical / treatment staff is physician . Dr. Ruiz and Dr. Colon are both highly regarded and well liked by so many patients, as are some of the physical therapists and assistants, like Sheana and David, who are so motivating and upbeat. Together, they devise a treatment plan which is formulated and tailored specifically for you. My initial consultation with my physical therapist, Nicolai, was very thorough and informative. He devised a personal treatment plan which he explained in great detail, and was happy to address all of my concerns. I've been a patient at OPMR for other post-op treatment in years past, and my conditions always improved remarkably. That is due to the excellence of their physical therapists and many others on this team of great care providers. Everyone was positive, professional and genuine in their interest for the advancement of my healing. The last time I was treated at OPMR, I began to feel a noticeable improvement after one month. I also began feeling more positive and looked forward to more activities in my personal life. I addressed the posture and muscle strengthening parts of my program at home through the exercises Nicolai taught me. He also printed an illustrated copy of what the exercises were and exactly how they should be performed. It has been a huge help! I am indebted to their assisting me to address the real issue instead of focusing on temporary solutions. The staff is friendly, compassionate and time efficient! Very short times, if at all. Quick easy high-quality care, which is due to an extremely organized administrative team. Processes run smoothly and efficiently, especially at the reception desk. Cassie, Sandy and Cynthia are among the first faces you see at OPMR. No matter how busy they may be on the phone or handling multiple tasks simultaneously, they always make patients feel welcome and are very versed in handling insurance or benefit-related concerns. Together this amazing group of professionals provide exceptional customer service to each individual patient. I would welcome the opportunity to recommend this practice to anyone that is serious about about improving their health and overall quality of life. You'd be hard pressed to find a complete highly skilled treatment team such as this anywhere else in northern New Jersey.

At one point, one nurse came in and asked me to move from the examining table to the chair to be more comfortable while waiting. Supposedly this was at the request of Dr. Mendes. Cool. At another point, a second nurse came in and told me the doctor was running a little behind with other patients and asked if I had anywhere to be. Not sure it would have mattered if I did, but it was still nice of her to ask. Dr. Mendes spent about 5-10 minutes with me and ultimately prescribed me an MRI, which is the outcome I was expecting. Because of the subtlety of my injury, he explained he wasn't really able to diagnose me in the absence of those results. Overall, the staff was courteous, professional, and prompt. My only complaint is that Dr. Mendes acknowledged that his associate, Dr. Chase, was who I should have seen in the first place. Chase specializes in sports and I did specify with the secretary when I made my appointment that I was coming in for a sports-related injury. No Mendes's fault, but still kind of annoying.

Extremely disappointing experience…read more I waited over two hours to be seen on multiple occasions despite having a scheduled appointment. What made the situation even more frustrating was being told repeatedly that I was "next" to be seen, only to watch other patients who arrived after me and had later appointment times get called back first. When I asked about it, the explanations I received from the staff were inconsistent and didn't match what I had personally observed. Rather than acknowledging the excessive wait time and poor communication, I felt like I was being given excuses. The doctor's explanation only added to my frustration and did not address the actual issue. In fact, he took an incredibly rude attitude toward me when I inquired politely about it. I understand that medical offices can run behind, but waiting over two hours more than once is unacceptable. After speaking with others in the waiting room, it was clear that I was not the only one with this experience. Patients deserve honest communication and respect for their time. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

The last time I went for a visit, I was told to wait in my car until it was my turn for my scheduled appointment. I was there for 2 hours and the office staff was rude whenever I'd call for an update. Dr. Faugno apologized when he saw me. Just a few weeks ago, I called to schedule my annual physical. I was told I could not see the doctor until November (I called in May). I even mentioned that I had some health concerns, but the person who took my call didn't care. I even said I'd have to find another primary care doctor and she just says, "OK," and hung up. It's very hard to find a primary care provider these days. Even though he's a good doctor, his office staff lacks the decency to make his practice sufficient. If you actually can get an appointment, I'd still recommend looking elsewhere as you'll likely be disappointed at some point. I do respect the medical profession, but I do expect more care as a patient. Our lives are their hands.
