After all, the practice is in Upper Montclair, so how bad could it possibly be? I arranged a visit on the same day I called, filled out all the new patient paperwork upon arrival, and saw both the nurse and doctor all in under an hour. I might have been able to shave off 5 minutes if the reception hadn't made so many typos in my paperwork, but at least they gave me a chance to review it before they entered wrong information into their system. Dr. Khan was very thorough and professional. The ease of making an appointment probably has to do with the fact that the practice has 5 physicians on staff.

We've done this with healthcare specialists for my husband, but fortunately we found Dr. Hyatt, Mountainside Medical Group Family Practice, for his primary care physician. She is fantastic and my husband attests that she is one of the best doctors who he's seen. She's set up an office with another doctor, Dr. Julie Kidangan, in Bloomfield (we went to an office in Verona previously). The new space is great. It's easy to drive to from Route 3 or the GSP. There is a private lot for parking, too. The office itself is bright with large windows and a nice waiting area (quiet, neat, and has cute furniture - just saying). The office is located in a one-level building, and is wheelchair accessible with a ramp leading the office entrance. My husband has been very sick this week, so I handled scheduling his appointment at the new office. The office scheduler/manager who worked with me was very polite, friendly, and professional. I don't know about you, but I've had many experiences in the past with office staff who I've sworn truly hate the world. So I really appreciate this friendly service. So without hesitation, I would recommend Dr. Hyatt and this office. As a wife helping my husband, I feel confident that he's getting the best treatment from this office, which gives me tremendous relief.

I have been a patient at Dr. Cadoo's office for a little over two years. My first appointment with…read moreDr. Kadoo was excellent, and I had the opportunity to see her once more after that. Both visits were positive. She was thorough, attentive, courteous, and took the time to answer my questions. Her bedside manner is exceptional, and I always felt heard and respected during our interactions I also want to recognize the medical assistants and nurses who greet patients and take vitals. They have always been kind, welcoming, and professional, and they consistently help create a positive experience when arriving for an appointment. When I first became a patient, I saw a nurse practitioner who was equally thorough and took the time to address my concerns. Unfortunately, she is no longer with the practice. Since then, there seems to have been a revolving door of nurse practitioners, and the consistency in care has noticeably declined. Several appointments have felt rushed, and some of the concerns I initially raised were never revisited or followed up on. As a patient, it's difficult to build trust and continuity of care when the provider changes so frequently. My most recent appointment with Nurse Practitioner Patel was especially disappointing. The interaction felt very uncomfortable because communication was extremely limited. She appeared knowledgeable, but I had to continually ask questions to get even basic information. Instead of feeling guided through my treatment plan, I felt like I was pulling information out of her throughout the visit. When the appointment ended, I was still unsure about several important details: how exactly to use my prescription, how long I should use it, what to expect from the medication, what to do if it didn't work, whether there were any potential side effects I should watch for, and what the plan would be moving forward if my condition didn't improve. I left the appointment feeling confused rather than reassured. These are questions that I believe should be addressed proactively during a patient visit, not only if the patient knows to ask. I continue to have confidence in Dr. Cadoo and truly appreciate the care I have received directly from her. My concerns are not with Dr. Cadoo herself, but with the inconsistency in care resulting from the frequent turnover of nurse practitioners and the lack of thorough communication during some of those visits. I hope the practice can improve continuity of care and ensure that every provider takes the time to educate patients, answer questions thoroughly, and make patients feel informed and supported.

*PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT, I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON THIS HAS HAPPENED TO*…read more I scheduled a new patient physical in early April to see Doctor Coscia as I hadn't been feeling good for some time. I was told to come in for my appointment at 6 pm, I arrived at 5:30 pm on the dot. I checked in early and there was one patient who was in front of me. I wish I was joking when I say I waited TWO AND HALF hours to be only seen for 15 minutes. When I was telling her my symptoms, and my previous medical history, she brushed it off as if it wasn't important (Maybe because 20-year-olds are immune to sickness????). She took my blood work, told me that she was going to run every test, and assured me that I'd know my results by the following week. I waited and heard nothing back, so I called about a week after she took my blood. The receptionist said she was going to call me two days later, guess what! She never did. So AGAIN I called back about another week and I got the same response. I called AGAIN today (5/2/2024) in the morning. The conversation went like this: Receptionist:"Let me get your info, and we'll give you a call in 2 days". Me: "I should've received my results and I called already 2 times before" Receptionist: proceeded to go through the entire month of Aprils call log to "assure me" that I've "not once after my appointment called to know my results". Me: "I did call, you guys took my blood almost a month ago, I need to know the results" Receptionist: "Well since you're new, let me tell you, that's not how we do things here and YOU HAVE TO WAIT two days for my call" and just hung up. Like why... In the time that it took for her to go day by day in the call log, she could've just told me my results. This practice is very unprofessional and doesn't seem to respect or care for their younger patients. Imagine if I have a severe illness or disease that could've been caught early but now because this practice likes to dilly-dally, it's progressed further, and has gone untreated. Each day counts. My health has only declined more. I just want to know what's wrong...

In addition, I had a 9am appointment and she didn't even come in until 10:15 am! So this time, I did my research first and found Dr Michele Moscato of Vanguard Medical Group. My first appointment was Monday, 7/25/18. I got there and the place was spotless. The receptionist who signed me in was very efficient and kind. I could tell she liked her job, she was very friendly & smiling the whole time. She then sent me to the back where I was greeted immediately by Evie. She took my history and then Dr Moscato came in. The exam room was new and spotless too, you could tell this place cleaned their rooms constantly . Dr Moscato was very nice and listened to me with interest. When we were done she took me out and had her staff do my referral immediately. I was able to make my appointment with the specialist by the time I got home. I would highly recommend this group to anyone needing a good primary care. I especially wanted a female so that's why I choose Dr Moscato & it seems, I really lucked out. Moreover, she kept my mother as a patient, so it was a personal issue with me. She had no empathy for me and was condescending and egotistical. As for the other doctors--I spent nearly three decades being gaslit about my medical issues and blamed for them. The doctors knew that I was under severe stress and that cortisol affects everything. They nonetheless blamed me for my poor sleep (I was an unpaid caregiver for my parents), issues with diabetes (they kept telling me that "you need to lose weight" as though that was the *only* way to manage it and it was just on me to fix this), my extremely heavy periods ("you need to lose weight and it'll go away!"-- it did not), and felt dismissed. I didn't realize until I left the area how much I'd been gaslit.

They are very thorough and know how to properly treat chronic/autoimmune issues. I have been very happy with them! The following are phone experiences I have had with the office: -I called upon finding out I was pregnant for the first time at age 37. This office had prescribed 3 medications that would affect whether the pregnancy stuck or not. The front desk was adamant that I had to go to an OB and could not come see the doctors to discuss my hormone prescriptions with my established primary caregiver. I was turned away at a very delicate time. I mentioned this to the Dr who agreed I should have been seen right away. - I called to make my annual and was told I absolutely could NOT ask questions about currently treated (under their care) conditions during an annual exam, that I had to make a separate consultation appointment. What!? -I left 1 message in 10 years of care asking to speak to the PA. No one returned my call. -And despite the care we love from the docs the final straw was...we continue to get bills for an appointment my husband left TWO messages cancelling. In both messages he asked someone to call back and confirm receipt and no one has. It is very sad that they cannot get better help because the doctors are lovely.
