In response to the Oct 16th post by Christina, some clarification is to be made on some of the…read moreinaccurate comments she posted. Perhaps she has us confused with another customer?? We had a total of 2 visits in the "showroom" and only worked with one designer, Taylin. (Who has since terminated her working relationship with this business) . During our second visit, we asked that more specific language, be added to the pending contract. She did not agree to make any addendums to the contract. She continued to state to us that there were allowances in the contract that would take care of everything. We had wanted to be perfectly clear about everything ..sizes, shapes, quality, brand names of products, etc. The only comment made to us was that if our choices of fixtures, tile, ect. go over the allowance, it would be added to the cost of the project. We had hoped for a water tight quote on the cost of the renovation project. We never received an offer to move forward in a transition process with the owner and a "new designer" (??). We were advised that the owner would be "available" to us if need be. You stated in your recent comment that you "reached out to set an appointment with (us), the owner and "our" designer". This is not a true statement. You stated that "our designer" offered a "same day meeting". Again, this is a false statement. We are completely unaware of a new "designer". I do not intend to get into a conflict with this business. I believe they have us confused with another client, as so many statements made by Christina in her post do not relate to our situation. My final comment is "buyer beware"........

Before we decided to go with Summit Kitchen & Bath, we interviewed other kitchen/bath contractors…read morein Summit County and in the Denver metro area. Having experienced past issues with contractors, this time, we needed to be especially careful. Ultimately, we were most impressed with Summit Kitchen and Bath's enthusiasm and resume of work in Shock Hill and other Summit County neighborhoods. Greg has worked on high end kitchens/baths for decades and we knew Brenda before we bought this house. After spending time with Greg and Brenda, we could tell they loved their work and were good at it. Our Eagle's Nest home has an odd kitchen which felt disproportionately small for this almost 4000 sqft home. We believed it was inevitable that we would need to tear out walls to make the kitchen feel proportional to the house. Greg and Brenda were actually excited about the challenges that came with this kitchen remodel. They came up with exceptionally creative design features incorporating elements we never considered. Only someone with Greg's experience could have come up with ideas to make our kitchen finally feel proportional to the house using the same space -- no walls needed to be torn out and he found additional space for cabinets we never considered. Summit's selections of granite, cabinets, hardware, etc. were virtually unlimited. Greg has access to virtually anything. Summit also has connections with many other businesses in Summit County. With Greg and Brenda's referral, we got a great deal on outstanding appliances. After they were done, the kitchen flowed perfectly with the remainder of the house and, based upon the opinion of a real estate broker, enhanced the value of the house more than 4 times the total cost of the renovation. Greg and Brenda were exceptional in coordinating their workers, the various aspects of a renovation, and in sticking to their promised schedule. During the tear out, an unexpected and time-consuming plumbing issue surfaced which could not have been anticipated (bad design not to code when the house was first built); yet, Greg and Brenda were still able to maintain the schedule they promised. They anticipated the unexpected in their scheduling! We were away during much of the renovation. Before we thought to ask for an update, Brenda contacted us with an update. She kept us well informed at every stage of the process. Summit's workers were meticulous in keeping the rest of the home shielded from the construction project. Summit's price for the entire tear out and rebuild was very competitive with even Denver contractors who have much more competition. This has been the best contracting experience we have ever encountered. These folks know what they are doing, love what they do, and do it well!!

I tried hard to get the owner to come to my house to take a look at a blown out window but had to…read moretry many times. He finally came over and I was excited that I finally found someone who could do the work and was pleasant and price conscience. He presented me with an estimate for the window repair and I immediately agreed to the price and let him know. That's where everything stopped. I waited and waited and waited even more for a call back with an estimate but my numerous calls, texts and emails were never answered. I finally sent an email asking for his advice on window repair versus replacement and he emailed me back basically telling me what a bad idea we were thinking of, but he never gave me the courtesy of even a short email saying he was too busy to take care of the repair of our windows, especially the one that was blown out by the wind. Summit county has very few people who do the work the owner does, so I totally understand he was too busy, but why did he not respond to my repeated texts/ calls/emails so I could just move on and find someone else? When I agreed to the pricing I figured he was at least interested in doing the work and we were willing to wait. I also had a house full of other windows needed adjusting, so it wasn't like this job was too small. I eventually had to go out of county to find a reputable service but I would have contacted them much sooner had I figured out the owner did not want my business. Unfortunately I had to have his business removed from my realtor's recommended service providers because I could no longer endorse the company. I am disappointed that so many contractors and service providers don't give potential customers the courtesy of a quick text or email saying sorry, they have plenty of work and don't want extra work. Maybe some day these folks will need the work and I won't be using them. If you are looking for window repair or servicing in the Summit County area, look further west to the Vail Valley or Eagle area. Summit County has so few, and the one I thought was the best fit is unresponsive.

We have a geodesic dome house at 9200 feet, so window selection is critical to its efficiency and appearance. Jeff even setup a demonstration at the Denver site and that sold me. Not feeling the heat of a blow torch through the glass was very impressive! We went with Kolbe Forgent brand and are very happy! They were accurate in the shipping time expected and accommodated every request. I couldn't recommend Jeff and his team any higher! You will be impressed! Thanks Jeff!
