During the pandemic we bought a 30 year old fixer up home in the mountains of CO. The windows and doors were leaky and had not been properly maintained; they were warped, did not shut or lock properly and the screens were either torn or missing. Eric Prouty and his talented crew from AWAD looked at our big project. They cautioned us that they could start our restoration but that due to pandemic supply chain and manpower issues, they could not guarantee a speedy endpoint. It has been a little over a year and 95% of our project has been completed. Our windows, doors and screens look and function beautifully. Once everything is painted they will look brand new. Many of our other contractors have remarked on the fine workmanship they have noticed being done by AWAD. Before we found AWAD we had started pricing new windows. Eric and his team have saved us thousands and thousands of dollars! This company is the best kept secret. They are extremely busy but were good communicators in keeping us up to date on back orders and delays. We are grateful our realtor knew the caliber of their work and referred us. The initial work was performed satisfactorily, but one of the window seals failed prematurely. The owner inspected the failed window and agreed it was defective. The person that came out to install was extremely rude and obnoxious to my daughter who was there only as courtesy to let them in. I called the office to complain and was told this was the owner! Needless to say, I will not be calling them again nor recommending them to friends and neighbors.

My shower doors in the guest room from Home Depot are better at avoiding water stain buildup and was much less expensive! I have called several times to discuss this with Alpine Glass. They sent the installer out who looked at the glass and had nothing to offer. Told me I had to squeegee after every use and wipe down with a cloth. Well hell, I could do that WITHOUT Enduroshield! I have been to the Enduroshiled website which clearly shows the water sheating off. Not mine, after one shower - boom, white dots everywhere! There is no way this glass has Enduroshield but I know I paid for it!

He presented me with an estimate for the window repair and I immediately agreed to the price and let him know. That's where everything stopped. I waited and waited and waited even more for a call back with an estimate but my numerous calls, texts and emails were never answered. I finally sent an email asking for his advice on window repair versus replacement and he emailed me back basically telling me what a bad idea we were thinking of, but he never gave me the courtesy of even a short email saying he was too busy to take care of the repair of our windows, especially the one that was blown out by the wind. Summit county has very few people who do the work the owner does, so I totally understand he was too busy, but why did he not respond to my repeated texts/ calls/emails so I could just move on and find someone else? When I agreed to the pricing I figured he was at least interested in doing the work and we were willing to wait. I also had a house full of other windows needed adjusting, so it wasn't like this job was too small. I eventually had to go out of county to find a reputable service but I would have contacted them much sooner had I figured out the owner did not want my business. Unfortunately I had to have his business removed from my realtor's recommended service providers because I could no longer endorse the company. I am disappointed that so many contractors and service providers don't give potential customers the courtesy of a quick text or email saying sorry, they have plenty of work and don't want extra work. Maybe some day these folks will need the work and I won't be using them. If you are looking for window repair or servicing in the Summit County area, look further west to the Vail Valley or Eagle area. Summit County has so few, and the one I thought was the best fit is unresponsive.

We have a geodesic dome house at 9200 feet, so window selection is critical to its efficiency and appearance. Jeff even setup a demonstration at the Denver site and that sold me. While I understand a small business has a challenge returning phone calls because they are so busy,…read moreit is unacceptable, IMO, to ignore a previous client who has already paid dearly for a custom shower door and the door is falling out the bracket and it has only been installed for about 8 months. The door is at risk to be shattered from hitting the other glass side. I've been very patient, sending more than 7 messages via text and voice mail to have zero acknowledgement. When I ordered my door, they seemed to be very knowledgeable and good people. Then they accidentally order the wrong door (we discussed two options) so I had to purchase a shower curtain, liner & rod for the shower until the correct door came in and was installed. They said they would give me a nice discount for my inconvenience. After they installed the correct door, they forgot about the discount. I reminded them and they did give me a much smaller, than originally suggested, discount, which I was fine with other than it was their offer. Well they still have a chance to redeem their reputation with me if they only stand buy their product and make it right by servicing their faulty shower door installation. I welcome their professionalism and a call to make this right. If they don't stand by it my 2 stars becomes a 1. Very nice and knowledgeable people who just need to figure out how to service their existing customers.
