Needless to say, we were exhausted. Luckily, my husband I took turns driving to ensure the we get some rest. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Camp host and fellow team members. It was refreshing to receive such welcoming smiles. She gave us our directions and camp map and informed us of some of the festivities going on. Entering the park, I would say was a bit confusing with the routes since golf carts were all over the place entering and exiting all the roads although it stated one way. We were tired so we didn't think nothing of it. We just wanted to unhook and get some much needed rest and sleep. Service: Impeccable! Very friendly, ensured we were greeted and taken care of. It was amazing to see how much they got together to ensure everyone stayed cooled after the electricity went down. Our neighbors ensure they contacted the office so that we can get informed because our pets were in the RV. They immediately contacted us so that we can get home to take care of our pets. We were grateful because we were an hour out of the way to get home quickly. By the time we got to our site, it wasn't too hot in the RV and the electric came back on. Thanks to our neighbors and the quick response to notify us. Amenities: clean Location: We were there to see our seventh grandchild. They lived about 35-45 minutes further from the Shenandoah Retreats. It was what we could get on availability due to the July 4th holiday. But it was easy to get to once we figured out the back roads. Sites: Were pretty tight, over populated but we understood since it is a destination retreat. We are long term residents in another Sun Communities location and you can say it is about the same as far as site space is concerned. It is fair to say we were right on top of our neighbors. I felt bad because they were cooking outside and my sewer hose is right there. We didn't get a room so I cannot comment on them, I stay natural. Bright Spots: I give the activities director kudos for the highlights of having festivities. They had golf cart and bicycle parades, golf cart water gun shoot outs. Lookout you must have a sign on your person or site that says "No water zone." It looked fun. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We hope to may another trip to see our families and we hope to stay there a little longer to enjoy the amenities we couldn't get to because of time. Way to go Shenandoah Retreats. Keep up the great work and smiles.

From day one Jay told us " I am going to sell your home," and there was an offer on the table less than 8 hours after the house was listed. Jay had a thorough understanding of pricing trends in our community and of the strengths of our unique condominium development before the unit went on the market. The results : our unit sold faster than almost any other home in our community that had been listed over the past five years by other agents. It also sold at a higher price than most if not all of those same units. Jay and his wonderful, friendly staff at Taylor-Made have created a digital marketing juggernaut. They take the time to get it right the first time and are very effective in making sure potential buyers easily find your home online with listings that have accurate information and are showcased on eye-catching web pages. Jay is honest and straightforward. Jay never made a promise he did not deliver on. Jay is also an expert negotiator. We always felt he was looking out for our best interest first. His excellent support staff (including Megan, Susan and Ally) were also tremendously helpful and friendly. Jay very patiently walked us through all the steps we needed to take to sell our home. Jay was readily available to answer any questions we had or to update us on any developments regarding our contract. His knowledge and acumen are second to none. Jay is just a great upbeat guy and a pleasure to work with. He is also a cool cucumber. Selling a home can be a stressful situation at times but thanks to Jay's people skills he always kept things on an even keel. Everything Jay does is deliberate and has purpose. Jay truly is there to serve his clients and understands that the best way to increase his own business is thru exceeding his client's expectations which he definitely did in our case. I would recommend Jay to anyone who is considering selling or buying a home. He is one of the hardest working, most positive, talented and honest professionals we have had the pleasure to work with in any field, anywhere. While there are a lot of good agents in Western Maryland Jay is in a class of his own. Jay is setting a new standard for superior real estate service at Deep Creek Lake. We were very lucky to have Jay and his team in our corner. I promise you will feel the same if you choose him as your real estate agent!

There are ample staff, and everyone was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed everything we ate, from the quick serve breakfasts and sandwiches at Martha's cafe, to dinners at Woody's, the breakfast buffet, and the gala dinner. It was always easy to find something to eat or drink, with various levels of service/formality. The gym is well appointed, and we really enjoyed the outdoor pool and hot tub. The afternoon tea and cookies is very crowded, but fun. The evening movie was a fun activity, with popcorn and nice seating . One thing I really liked was the number of occupied public spaces. The lobby/foyer has live music in the evenings, occasional tea and coffee service, couches and fireplaces. The Christmas decorations were just gorgeous. We enjoyed walking around to see them all. We also really liked the vibes in the Presidential Lounge and had drinks there on several occasions, taking our time. We are not fancy people, and did find the hotel rather expensive, and definitely still felt nickeled and dimed at times. There is no included food/beverages, and only part of the complex is available/included in your cost. We were able to use part of the outdoor pool, and the indoor pool and fitness center. The mineral pools, onsite and off, are additional fees, as are all meals, most coffee, etc. Parking is not included, and is valet only. There are numerous daily activities, most of which are an additional charge. Many did look enjoyable, but we opted out of the $75 bourbon tasting and $75 yoga classes. When the Omni is on, they are ON, but, to my point above, once they start to miss, they just kind of shrug it off and the mistakes feel expensive. My date had bought me a massage, which came with a spa day pass, which is the only way to use the spa garden and on site springs. We didn't realize at first that I already had a day pass, so we went ahead and purchased one for him to enjoy the facilities as well. On our spa day, the hot water was out, which meant that a decent number of the indoor facilities were not enjoyable. There were no discounts or alternatives offered, just kind of - it's not working. We still had a very nice spa day, but would have enjoyed the indoor showers, and actually, showering off, in January, in cold water after using the mineral springs, was not fun. When we ordered room service, half of our order was forgotten, and again, we were presented with a brief apology and the full bill, even though it took an additional 20 minutes for the food to arrive and I had finished eating mine by then. The most stressful error was when the bell staff dropped the garment bag containing my black tie dress on the floor in the hall, and we found it there when we came back to the room! I was really upset about that, though we didn't call the desk as we were tired and I did have the dress in the end, but this could have ended quite differently. I will also say that the walls are PAPER thin. A rather loud family occupied the room next to us for part of our stay and we could hear EVERYTHING. The historic property is just lovely, and the service was really nice. If we were to return, we would likely stay for a shorter visit, but it was definitely worth a trip.

Co. in volleyball. My husband wanted to come for a weekend getaway after Christmas and I was game. He's not from VA so I was looking forward to showing him around. I've visited for the day once almost 20 years ago and had lunch. This is a huge resort - and a lot of the amenities weren't really accessible to us that are outdoors - but, they did still have the heated outdoor and indoor spa pools open, ice skating, and some other things. My husband really wanted to try to ski or do snow tubing but none of that is open. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the Christmas holidays and they had trees everywhere - I probably saw over 25 trees and didn't even see them all - my baby girl loved exploring and running around the resort. They have a lot of activities throughout the day for children and families including evening entertainment in the lobby, children's activities, a photographer taking family portraits, game rooms, and multiple restaurants and shops. It is expensive to stay here - it's billed as a luxury resort - and it is beautiful, but it's in the actual middle of nowhere essentially and is a long drive on winding country roads. It's charming, but somewhat isolated and feels like a remnant of a bygone era. The spa building smelled awful, there was a lot of disarray there by the entrance, and the walkways and stairways aren't handicap/stroller accessible and several elevators weren't working making it difficult to navigate this huge resort easily/quickly to walk around with a stroller/toddler. Staff were hit or miss - staff at the restaurants were wonderful. Staff at reception and check-in were awful. We had communicated ahead of time that we had our baby and asked for early check-in and a crib/pack and play and both were confirmed. As we booked with our travel agent who gets perks with the hotel - early check-in was a part of our package anyway. We arrived around 4pm and our room was still no ready - we were placed in an area in the basement with no view and were not impressed at all. After my husband spoke to the front desk manager, we were moved to a different room with a gorgeous view and balcony. This room was spacious and much better. Still, they dropped the ball on several of the amenities we typically get through my agent (welcome letter, snack or amenities, breakfast, etc.). When we arrived the valet told my husband it was included with our stay at no charge, then my husband was charged $30 a day ($90) for our stay and was upset at checkout about being misled. It was a fun weekend but felt overpriced and the hotel needs some TLC in certain areas. I'm sure upkeep and maintenance is astronomical here, but the spa area was gross and the elevators and walking access are a huge issue.

We were concerned about finding what we wanted within our price range but Jim helped us map out a realistic timeline and encouraged us to stay within our preferred budget for a period of time to see what we could find. Thank goodness we listened to him - he helped us find a house that is PERFECT and negotiated it to our exact goal price. We were using a VA loan and Jim was great about letting us know which houses we shouldn't even consider because they wouldn't meet the VA standard, and what exactly would need to be done at the house we were purchasing to get VA approval. He was spot on every time. Every person he recommended (the lender, the attorney, all the way to the inspection company) was beyond fabulous. Being first-time home buyers we were nervous about everything and they helped us through every step of the process. The lender told us that they wouldn't let us let anything fall through the cracks - and he was right! All in all, Jim made what could have been a stressful process blissfully stress-free. He was incredibly helpful and trustworthy. I highly recommend him to anyone interested in purchasing a home.
