Upon arrival we were greeted by the owners Brian and Donna and offered a complementary glass of wine. The owners are very personable and excellent hosts willing to help their guests have a memorable experience. We reserved the Lucy Belle room on the first floor which has a separate door to the front porch. This room has a king bed, spacious bathroom with shower. The bed was comfortable, plenty of hot water in the shower and and the room was nicely decorated. The porch is a perfect place to relax overlooking the flower garden. Morning coffee, juices and homemade breakfast is also included. Behind the Inn is the IG winery. Tours and tastings are available. We have previously stayed at other B&B's in the Cedar City but now that we have experienced Iron Gate it will be the first choice on future visits.

Susan and CR are gracious hosts and are accommodating, warm, and solicitous without being overbearing. Our room was the "Joy Darlene" and featured a king bed and a three-head walk-in shower (tilt the middle head all the way down before turning on the taps!). The breakfast area is charming and opens onto a patio, which would be a lovely place in warmer temperatures for a cool drink. The food is scrumptious and homemade, as befits a quality B&B. Our first breakfast: individual quiches (bacon, cheese, artichoke), cinnamon muffins, fresh fruit, and juices. Our second breakfast: banana bread pudding, sausages, fresh fruit, and juices. You will not leave hungry! The hosts even provide a happy hour at 5pm with wine and appys (we were served bacon wrapped brie-stuffed dates, chips and homemade salsa, crackers/cheeses/meat plate, and jalapeno olives). If you have any food allergies, let the hosts know a few days in advance of your visit and they will modify the menu for you. I am lactose-intolerant and they were gracious enough to make my quiche without cheese and my bread pudding with Lactaid milk. The house is within a few minutes walking distance of Southern Utah University (where the Utah Shakespeare Festival is located during the summer) and the downtown core. Despite this, the evenings were VERY quiet, ensuring a good night's sleep for all. Susan and CR said that they will be opening up a winery in the next couple of months, which will only add to the quality and decadence of this already fine establishment. We plan on visiting again for the Shakespeare festival later this summer and are looking forward to it! Only 1 quibble: although there is wifi available, the connection doesn't seem to work with Apple products.

These amenities are really for RV park users. The hotel rooms are upstairs and were previously offices. No elevator. Walls are very thin. From my room, I could hear all the goings-in in other rooms, including dogs barking and kids yelling. There was a lot of racket, people shouting in the lobby and common rooms downstairs in the evening, so I was afraid to venture out of my room. In the morning, from the hallway, I could actually hear someone snoring. The room was large and had floor rather than carpet, so it was mostly clean. Although there was a small pile of hair on the bathroom floor by the shower. By the way, the shower was not designed well, so much of the bathroom floor got wet after it was used. Also, the toilet did not have a lid! That's unsanitary. For around $250 for one night, I would have been much better off staying at a real hotel in town.

The attached restaurant had decent, mom and pop style food for unbelievable prices (full roast beef dinner for $12)! The market across the street had great prices too. We didn't have much time to explore Parowan, but did take the short drive from town to see the petroglyphs and dinosaur tracks in Parowan Gap. Very pleased with our stay here.

The location is convenient for travelers, and although the hotel is close to the highway, we were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was. Traffic noise was not an issue, and we slept well. Breakfast was included. There were egg bites, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, waffles, cereal, milk, coffee, and juices. The only downside was that breakfast was very busy, and food sometimes ran out quickly, so there could be a short wait for items to be refilled. Our only real complaint was the curtains. They were not blackout curtains, so the room became quite bright as soon as the sun came up. Other than that, everything was great. Clean, comfortable, quiet, and well maintained. First all their bullshit charges for having our families friends who were camping at the unrelated cap site for knocking on the door to let us know what the days events are going to be (yes even not entering the cabin at all you get charged per person)(also there is zero cell reception so knocking on a door is the only option) Second they have a rule about not having animals inside a veichle. I had my dogs inside my car because I was at the camp site and had to go talk to my parents staying in the cabin and that got them a charge THE DOGS DIDNT LEAVE THE FUCKING CAR and there was not a sign when pulling in about the dogs cant even be in the car third they treated me with such a level if disrespect when my parents were checking in and I made sure that my disabled mother was going to be ok with the rental they told me multiple times "hes not welcomed here with those dogs" even after telling them I'm just making sure my disabled mother is able to get into the cabin and is going to be ok. Fourth the Cutlery that was provided to my parents that was in the cabin was not clean and they have a huge sign that says that they charge people when the items are not cleaned from previous tenants Moral of the story is we will never be using their services again and instead will camp at duck creek. The group we go camping with is about 30 people so this will be lost money for burger barn, the general store, and the camping grounds

Austin and his family was very helpful and accommodating. I am glad no pets are allowed which keeps the integrity of the property. Don't pass this one up you won't regret it.
