Be warned - I got burned - be sure to ask for 10% locals discount if you live in Sonoma…read more I recently spent approximately $4k for a new couch purchased from Harvest Home. About a month after receiving the couch, I learned thru another local merchant that Harvest Home offers a 10% discount to locals. Well, I'm a local and did not receive the discount even though the store clerk took my delivery address, a local address. Shortly thereafter I visited the Harvest Home store intending to purchase 2 side chairs. I asked the clerk if Harvest Home did, in fact, offer a 10% locals discount. She said yes. So I asked why I hadn't gotten the discount on on couch I bought. The clerk's response was very unsatisfactory. Her shoulders sunk indicating to me that this issue had come up before. She said you have to ask for the discount at the time of purchase otherwise you don't get it. I reminded her that she took my address for delivery which was clearly a local address. I also asked how was I supposed to know there was a discount? She dug her heels in and kept saying she was sorry but there was nothing she could do because I didn't ask for the discount at the time of purchase. I told her how disappointed I was with her customer service. She cut me short and said she was sorry and gave me her quote for the 2 side chairs. I left in frustration and did not and will not buy the 2 chairs I was going to buy at approximately $3k. This is such poor customer service in my opinion. I missed out on this discount that apparently other locals get but I didn't because I didn't know about it to ask for it. Being a local, I am telling this story to all my friends. I will not be buying the 2 side chairs or anything else from this store.

Items range in design styles to suit various tastes in style aesthetics such as modern industrial, modern French baroque, farm house style, to bold funky eccentric. Not your run of the mill manufactured trendy items. I'm talking unique, quality items. Sure the price tag may reflect that. Price points vary depending on the item. The staff are welcoming and not bougie. Down to earth. As you move through the building, the items are thoughtfully and beautifully displayed. Be sure not to miss out the outdoor space. More gems out there. Restored vintage: planters, wrought iron fencing and gate pieces, statutes... etc. My most favorite area was the back room of vintage items. 1918 women's wool swimsuit $350, 1940-1950s greeting cards $3 each, 1950s Underwood typewriter $750, 1960s golf clubs... to name a few of the items I saw on my last visit.

We so enjoyed exploring each room, each table of artifacts, each display. VINTAGE MAP/POSTER STORE - GREAT FOR GIFTS AN SF MUST SEE…read more*tip - very limited hours check beforehand Schein & Schein is a San Francisco staple. I've never been to another place like it. Walk in you'll be greeted by a quiet dog who sometimes relaxing on the sidewalk or on the bench in the store. Make sure you come with extra time because you can spend hours looking - which I do. There all types of maps from all around the world and posters of all kinds. It's hard to call it a map store, more of a manuscript store because they have drawings, pictures, old advertisements. I hope this place is there for years to come. The owners are friendly, helpful really seem to love what they do and are more than happy to help. I will be coming for that Eddy Map one day!

Or perhaps even a print of the city you or a family member was born in, circa the year they were born? You can do all of that here. Want a treasured & priceless photo framed in museum quality materials? Ditto. We checked out old maps of SF. Before Coit Tower & after Coit Tower. And pics of the GG Bridge being built. Crazy. There's even a "library series" of scented candles. The selection is pretty astounding. Maps are organized in a drawer filing system by city &/or country, or in binders. A great place to explore the world & get lost in it. 5 stars.
