Beautiful, witchy bobbles store in the plaza that was totally magical during my hunt for whimsical Christmas decor. They have the most spectacular holiday flurry globes that I've never seen elsewhere, lovely selection of handcrafted ornaments (felted, woodcut, stitched, etc), and unique cards too. They also carry tarot and journals here and of course-- candles! I can't believe I hadn't popped in here sooner. The people who work here are so friendly. Charming candle shop in downtown Sonoma that has absolutely EVERYTHING related to beautiful candles including astonishing long tapers. I bought the Root Collenette candles, which come in 5", 7", and 9" heights. I keep the colors Garnet and Butterscotch in stock at home because they go with so many of my tablescapes and various kinds of pottery. My husband and I love to entertain and host a gourmet supper club. I don't buy candles anywhere else. This shop is simply the best. BTW: Their customer service is superb. read more

We wandered into the Candlestick after breakfast at Sunflower Caffe and right away I spotted a display of floating Sunflower candles. These are my Moms favorite flower so I knew I'd pick one of these up for her, she loves it! I browsed around for a bit and picked up one of their Reiki Energy Charged Love candles for myself, because gosh do I need it! and it's pink and it smells good :) fragranced with essential oils, patchouli, olive oil, rose, clove, dragons blood and lavender. Upon check out I also spotted the cutest hotel bell. It's not vintage or an antique but a pretty good recreation and I knew I needed it for the Bed and Breakfast I don't own or run but I figured I could ring it to call my son downstairs for dinner or something ;) Very cute store filled with a ton of candles and very sweet service from Jane who I chatted with while in here. Somehow we got on the subject of books, donating them, how we organize them after I asked about the nearby Walt tasting room. I want to give this store a 5-Star review but I can't. We were there months ago and I purchased these beautiful hand blown glass lamps that you insert into a wine bottle. They were $66 but the display was beautiful and I thought it would be a great souvenir from our trip. Well, they don't fit into any wine bottles. None. They're too big. I've been trying to find the right bottle for months and finally gave up. I've reached out to Candlestick 4x over the last 3 weeks via phone and email with no response. I wandered into this shop. They have unique candles and creative gifts. There was a beautiful matt porcelain angel nite light that had dreamy faded colors. The shop manager wrapped it up in botanical thick tissue paper and placed in one of their little shopping bags. I quickly bought the cutest card there and my shopping was done an upcoming baby celebration! I would highly recommend this store. read more

My guy asked me what I wanted as a birthday present. (I already made off like a bandit on my birthday. He already took me on a full weekend getaway to Sonoma, a romantic dinner at Girl and the Fig, a hearty brunch the day after, bought me a bunch of chocolates and 3 bottles of wine.) We passed by this store and we were surprised there was a sign outside says "for lease". but on the door there was an address phone # of the former owner.. So we assumed the reason why she/he put it up there is for liquidation as the store still had a lot.. We left a msg no reply, we called the realtor and she said the owner was shy.. Shy yet you have a business, doesnt make sense.. We planned of buying almost half of what's left in your store yet you dont wanna contact us? What is that for? You closed the store after many years in the business so are you selling the products left or not? An easy yes or no answer but we waited for a month and no response... Unquestionably the best purchasing experience we have ever encountered in 50 years. While in Sonoma my daughter purchased one of their hot air balloons as a gift to us. Upon her return to Canada she presented us with the gift, unfortunately it didn't work. I contacted the new owners' who immediately sent , by courier , a replacement. Cool store in Sonoma with some lovely local items as well as high quality candles from all over. I really wanted some wine scented candles and found some in every grape varietal poured into recycled wine bottle bottoms. They are so delicious smelling and local to the area. We also bought some swirled purple and green tapers which were also local to the area. This is a lovely place to buy gifts as well as a little indulgence for those who love candles. read more

The owner of this store is fine until something doesn't go his way. For instance, I needed to return a purchase. He would only give store credit even though we live 400 miles away. And he said the store credit would be good for "about a year." We don't plant on traveling to Sonoma within the next year. He actually said, "Your problem is not my problem and there's nothing else I can do." If we ever end up in Sonoma again, I will never set a foot in that store. So admittedly, my wife's search for decorative chickens (replacing the previous search for elephants) is global in nature. The items in the store were interesting and fairly priced. Above and beyond that, the owner of the store was so helpful and went above and beyond in helping ship the items back home for us. I highly recommend. The candlestick was a great little store and the owner was super nice and helpful. VerWe fell in love with the hand blown glass candle holders to use in re-purposed wine bottles. All you need is lamp oil and some old pretty wine bottles and you have a unique centerpiece. We are so happy the shop owner talked us into buying all three instead of just one. Unfriendly man behind the counter. Bad and uncomfortable shopping experience. Took my son and my wife visited this store on Saturday. The store looks nice and cozy with lots of fancy candles. My son is almost 2 years old and was behaving nicely looking at the candles and displays. About minute and half in the store my son touches one of the bird crystal display and the man behind the counter shouted " No Touch, everything are fragile and it's not for him to touch".. The way he looked at my son and his voice of tone sounded just simply rude and unprofessional. I understand where the man behind the counter is coming from? He is afraid my son accidentally broke his display. However at the store entrance there is no such sign says "Kids are not welcome". I can feel he just wanted out out. So I hurried my son and my wife out of the store like we did something wrong and the man behind the counter just standing behind the counter and starred us out. read more
