Also saw a blueberry and peach pie with a crumb topping. Again, not overly sweet. The sweetness was from the generous fresh fruit filling. It should be called the Jersey Fresh fruit pie as blueberries and peaches are my favorite summer fruits. The only thing missing was some nice fresh whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

For my daughter's 3rd birthday we decided to get cupcakes instead of a cake. I physically went in…read moreto place the order and ended up deciding on two dozen cupcakes. They were supposed to be buttercream icing. When asked what kind of icing we wanted, I specifically asked for it to be the thick buttercream icing and not the whipped icing . The cupcakes were disappointing as they had icing that was not buttercream and literally slid off of the cupcake. Buttercream is thick and doesn't do that. For the price, I was expecting quality icing but the texture was not good at all. As someone who LOVES cake this was not my favorite experience with a bakery.

This bakery has been here in Atlantic City for years…read more The store was small with an ambiance that exhibited cozy comfort and tables and chairs for those who wanted to drink coffee and eat their treats. The service was great! There was a sweet lady at the register and we asked about the various cakes that were in the refrigerated case, to which she replied that she baked them. We chose the lemon and vanilla coconut slices. The coconut cake was covered toasted coconut and the layers contained a pineapple filling. The layers were moist and the cake amazing! The lemon cake was not a slice, but a two layer round with lemon cake and filling topped with a lemon mousse. That was amazing as well. They had an assortment of other cakes, cookies, other pastries and bread items. All in all a great place to stop by for a sweet treat while in Atlantic City.

Not a big deal, but it did create some confusion for several people in line while we were there. Also, they only offer certain foods on certain days, but they do not update their kiosk. You will be responsible to make sure that they have what you want in the display case. They seem so used to people having this issue and there is just nothing to be done about it other than give you a substitute item. Lastly, and most importantly, they wear gloves, the same gloves, for everything. It was disappointing to see someone come from the back with disposable gloves on, touch just about every surface in the front as they restocked, and then rearrange all of the pastries with the same gloves. We just would've preferred clean hands.

Appearance matters, especially when you're paying bakery prices for a special occasion. I honestly would have been better off getting a cake from ShopRite. I haven't tasted it yet, but based on the appearance alone, I won't be ordering from there again.

Everything in the window looks great, and the pastries in the case are very tempting, but a few items really seem like they would benefit from being warmed up before serving. The breakfast sandwiches for sure need to be heated up, because ours were cold and the bread was too doughy since it wasn't even toasted. The sandwiches in general feel like they would be much better with a quick heat or light bake to bring them to the next level. The cinnamon roll definitely needed to be warmed up, especially for the price, and while the cannoli tasted good, it lost some of that crisp shell texture once you bit into it. The ice cream area looks amazing though, and that will definitely be my next try.
