The drinks are basic--beers, shots, beers and shots. I had a margarita and it wasn't the best I've ever had--but I came here for pinball, man! The bartender was attentive and friendly. She told me about the games available and which were newest. I had hoped The Mandalorian and Halloween games were still around, but they had sadly moved on. First, I still had a great time! Secondly, this just shows this venue changes out their games fairly often, and that's a plus for regulars. I should also mention, for NYC, the drinks are very reasonably priced. The variety of pinball machines was impressive and super cool. Twilight Zone, Monster Bash, Jaws, Stranger Things, Deadpool, Demolition Man, Elton John, and more. You can use quarters, but the machines also take one dollar bills, which I found super convenient. I gave the bartender a 20 and she gave me 20 ones, and I had a blast. Each machine has a cup holder for your booze. I enjoyed each machine for a different reason. I actually enjoyed the Elton John game a lot! And Monster Bash was pretty cool and seemed to let me have a lot of extra games. You can tell these games are loved and well cared for. Clean and immaculately maintained. This is a fun, low-key place to check out if you like basic, low-priced booze and pinball.

When we walked the place was almost dead , there is a cover charge of $10 bucks to get in. In the next few hours the place started getting more and more people. The mister Sunday party is thrown by Justin Carter and Eamon Harkin. The Mister works to create an experience that's truly fun and engaging for everyone involved - party people, DJs, bartenders and doormen alike. The unique thing was that there were people from all the different age groups right from youngsters to families with kids at the day party venue. The place actually looks like a back side of a warehouse but with DJ floor in the middle and all the decorations of lights and a disco ball in the middle, this place is a very unique spot for a Sunday day party. They did have a bar serving beer, vodka and sangria though it was not a full bar but it serve the purpose. Also had a makeshift taco joint inside the premises. Definitely would be back here!

Just don't go swimming in the Gowanus, you might just come out with supernumerary appendages and three headed sperm. A friend let me in on a great secret. And I am ever so grateful. I love to shake my bon bon and I like to do it outdoors when the air is warm, and you can be one with nature. Too bad the day I came, Mother Nature was being a bitch. She was moody all day. Spitting, no spitting, sun, no sun. I swear she was schizophrenic. But even despite the uncooperative weather, there were still some diehard dancers out. And the place wasn't crowded, so I was able to get down. Nothing like dancing in the rain. They serve beer and sangria. But ice service was late, so we were drinking warm beers and room temperature sangria. There is also a Red Hook vendor serving up tacos. I didn't have any but my friends liked the tacos. I like house music and with a soulful woman singing in the background. They played a lot of that, so naturally, I was in my element. I forgot what it was like to dance and just be around people who love to dance. I can't stand it when you go to a venue and people aren't really feeling the music and the venue is a meat locker. I am not into meat. Such a great feeling! There was an amazing Asian dancer there who knew how to dance, and I was mesmerized. I really was in love with the energy in this place. It was infectious and I contracted the bug immediately. Come check out the "yard" to get your grove on. Shake your ass and dance with a few strangers. NYC's poetry and spoken word scene has always thrived and, the historic Nuyorican Poets Cafe has…read morealways had a home in the Lower East Side which comes through with flying colors every time. This is where my eyes opened to the world of poetry+ spoken word- and come here in the early 90s to be the spectator and listen to poets. Founded by a Puerto Rican, it attracted fearless activists: poets such as Sonia Sanchez- who read here, (and mesmerizing in person), so did Amiri Baraka, Allen Ginsburg- who all, lay everything on the line. With that being said, those black, brown, white poet leaders, paved the way to a new generation. In honor of their 10th Annual Block Party, Nuyorican Poets C. blasted an open-mic email and hubs wanted all in. Quite honestly, my husband is a closeted poet. He knows that. Even Nuyorican Poets Cafe know there are folks exactly like him. Hubs has always had a wonderful and creative knack for words that jive, words that don't necessarily rhyme but just 'go'- plus hubs does not have stage fright. Nuyorican P. C.'s Saturday event gave hubs as well as other newbies the energy to get up on stage and rock. And my husband did it with conviction and ease. Nuyorican P. C. is a 2 (3?)-fl building with black walls, it's low-lit, has a small bar area that sell water and maybe some snacks on their main floor and a balcony area on the 2nd. The feel seems discreet- but it isn't. Prior to this block party event, it's been ages I've been here on regular nights- but I can sure tell you, it's always full force. Take advantage while Nuyorican P. C. is still open before they shut down for renovations. If you're a closeted poet, this place highly speaks to people who are otherwise unheard or who don't know where they can read their poetry. Just take the stage and do it.

The views of the Statue of Liberty (makes me wanna get a new phone, lol) and the Brooklyn Bridge were stunning. The buffet was a hodge podge of items and didn't really make a lot of sense. I arrived for the 12pm trip and was informed it was cancelled when I arrived at 1120am. I took one star off for this. It was a little frustrating so I'm trying to save you that same frustration. I ended up taking the 215pm one. The cruise itself is really nice, the Jamaican tour guide ( I don't recall her name, but that's how she referred herself at the end) was really great. She explained everything from the buildings, bridges, Ellis island and the Statue of Liberty. You get a really good photo opportunity of the Statue of Liberty. A recommendation would include getting on the top floor of the ship and standing on the right side. Everything is explained from that side so you will have the best front row view of everything. The trip itself is 90 minutes and it flew by. Bring a jacket with you as it's very windy on the ship. I'd also say to bring some water because you may get thirsty. They sell beverages on the ship but I did not purchase any. If you are going to tip the tour guide make sure to have cash, when you exit the ship they will be there with a bucket for your tips. They also take a photo of you with the Brooklyn bridge behind you, you can get a good view or even better with your own phone from the ship. Just something to consider as well! The ship was a bit rocky so if you get seasick take some pills before hand.
