For sure it's not a nice looking place but this isn't where to go to impress anyone. The cheap prices and cheap tastes are the main things. A lot of bars around here are nothing special looking, and this is no exception. It's pretty much a worn out looking place. The inside is bigger than it looks, with room enough for quite a crowd to watch games and stuff. Lots of good deals going on. These are daily and weekly. It's about $4 for a cocktail. The basics like whiskey and Coke or whatever. A lot of classic appetizers. It's about $4 for the World Famous Willies. Highly suspect these are that famous. These are fried pizza dough balls served with red sauce. Also you can get these with garlic and Parmesan cheese. The pizzas are pretty greasy but still are popular. Classic small town college bar. It's open in the afternoon to late at night, so lots of time to come in and have good times. There's plenty of the locals, not just the college students who like to hang out or whatever.

Outdoor seating as well as indoor seating was available, seat yourself style. We sat inside. The noise level was not loud at all. Perfect for table conversations. The menu had too many tasty sounding items. I chose the Fatty Melt with the Cajun Fried Potato Salad and Coleslaw. My wife had the Chicken Club Wrap with Onion rings and Beans (for me). The little had the 2 mini sliders with fries. Being family we share the sides and the onion rings were a hit. The number one treat in my book was the Cajun Fried Potato Salad. The bean had a good smoky flavor to them. Last but not least our server should get top billing in the review. Jordan did a fantastic job accommodating our requests and took the time to answer questions without feeling rushed. She made us feel more like a friend than a patron. Hats off to you Jorden! Ah, good old Cub and Spanks…read more.. Now I've only been coming here for the past couple of months, but they fulfill a couple of requirements I require in a bar. 1) cheap drinks. And I don't mean this place is the kind of establishment that serves drinks in red solo cups, they serve them in regular plastic tumbler cups, and they're not bottom shelf garbage liquids either. A Jameson and Ginger ale will set you back a whopping $4. I feel like I'm stealing from the bar when I drink here! This is a good thing. 2) conversational level of crowd noise. This place has never been so loud that I couldn't hear the person I was sitting with, granted, we haven't come here on a Friday or Saturday night, so consider that the asterisk. I prefer a place where u don't need a bullhorn to talk to someone 3 feet away. 3) shuffleboard table. This place will always have a special place in my heart since I popped my shuffleboard cherry here on September 30th after closing out Charter Fitness. However, they've since replaced the old board with a new-fangled board with the prison bars that come up in the middle to avoid free plays, and the table is but crooked. Not that I'm a cheapskate and try to play for free, but the sand gets stuck in the holes so when you start a game, you have to manually push the bars in in order to allow your pucks to slide freely from end to end. I know, I know, #firstworldproblems 3) jukebox. Since the beginning if time, man has attempted to push forth their culture on those around them, and this is the perfect way to do it. You can even control the jukebox from your phone! Well, your smartphone at least. I don't think your Motorola StarTAC is going to help you out here, nor will your Nokia 8200. 4) regulars. You will see the same people day in day out here, whatever day of the week. They may or may not remember that you had a conversation about whatever you had a conversation about, but they're friendly. Or you can chalk it up to this place being a townie bar, but I won't call it that. Come to Cubbies, sidle up to the bar, and maybe drop a buck on a game of shuffleboard or two. Frank Capalano was the reason we went in, but the cool vibe kept us there for a few hours. The vintage building looked great on the outside. The big brick building looked like there was some history behind those doors. We walked into a dark room with two levels, a big bar flanking one side of the room and a stage with a dancefloor. I could tell people have fun here. We snagged a small table and listened to the 4-piece band while sipping on an ice-cold beer. The bartender Chris was fantastic. He got busy but never forgot us. There was a popcorn machine which was great, but I was hoping for a meal or at least an appetizer, since I had just gotten off work. It does have the word PUB in it's name. Oh well, the music kept us too busy all night to think about food. The place seems as though it has gotten a facelift. It looks restored not renovated. Everything was super clean, which is always a good thing. I really enjoyed my night at The House Pub and would definitely stop in again the next time I am in town.
