They are an untrustworthy company and try to get out of messes by verbally attacking the home owner stating things that are not fact based. The home owner then spends time defending themselves while attention is taken away from the home issue and time is wasted. This is a pattern. There were issues for two years, but I am the one that figured out the ridge vent should not have been installed. They sold it to me by including it in the price for the roof, which was over $18,000. Another roofer said the ridge vent with install would have cost about $1,800 of that price. Home Pro never gave me refund. They act like they did me a favor by taking it out. I also have gable vents in the dormer and a ridge vent and gable vents work against each other. The ridge vent was pulling heat and air conditioning from my house causing my bills to double. Home Pro stated that they installed baffles for free, but each bay baffle cost $2.50. I could have done that myself. It was actually my idea. Home Pro had no idea how to vent the front attic. This was something that should have been addressed during the roof install. My roof has been baking for over two years and my warranty is currently void. I had to file a claim and a BBB complaint to further push Home Pro to remove the ridge vent. Owens Corning moved them out of Platinum installer status since my install. Home Pro promised they would open my soffit on a Saturday because I had to take off from work to get the ridge vent out. They never followed through. Until it is done, my warranty for the shingles is void. Ventilation was to be addressed at roof install and this is what gives the home owner a top transferrable warranty. This is a huge loss for me. They know with winter coming I cannot find someone last minute to open the soffit...something they should have done over two years ago. This further exposes my roof to damage, as well as ice damming which I have had only since the new roof. The owner was angry because I questioned why there was a gap in the ridge repair. He said that I should trust them and stop asking questions. They finished the repair by putting mod. bit and shingles, so no one can inspect it personally. They had reluctantly given me a few pictures because I kept asking. They did not like me questioning the gap in wood. So they told me that they will not open up the soffit now. This puts me in a bad position with cold weather. I had to ask an inspector via picture if the gap was okay, and the inspector said he would have liked to see it in person before closure. He said going by a picture is difficult- if a beam is under the repair it is "probably" okay. So I am hoping there is a beam there because I can't see through the dormer now. It is difficult to trust a company who cut into my roof needlessly, charged me for a ridge vent I didn't need, cost me time from work, and caused my heating and air bills to skyrocket because of their mistakes. Not only this but the top warranty I was sold is a scam because the ventilation at the soffit has not been addressed as they repeatedly promised. For two winters I have been on a ladder in ice trying to melt the ice from the gutter line. They never gave me a copy of the online contract I signed even when repeatedly asked. I am pretty sure this is illegal in NYS. They have pictures of my roof... a bunch... but they will not send them. I have only gotten a few. There also appears to be a broken air vent in the dormer - it looks to have been stripped during the roof install. There is a piece of insulation tied to it per the picture taken through the gable vent. There is no way the HVAC company could have done that 19 years ago because the only access they had was from a small hole in the front attic. They would not have been able to access that to tie anything. Home Pro would have had access when the roof was opened. Home Pro Exteriors is a horrible, untrustworthy company. Do yourself a favor... with all the companies out there take your business elsewhere. Home Pro does not respect your time or your home investment. They want to make quick money and hope no one notices their mistakes. They certainly don't like any questions. They will ignore you the minute they have no answer for the situation. They will put new jobs before fixing mistakes while your home gets ruined. Their promises are empty and just used to buy time so they can get out of doing the repair. Read the other reviews... some are very concerning. They have no respect towards their paying customers.
